SRAM Code Brake Pads

Perfect replacement for my SRAM brakes. I’ve found these sintered brake pads to be quiet with good stopping power. They are said to be durable. They were rubbing when I first installed them and I thought after a few rides they’d wear down but it took a couple months of weekly rides to stop rubbing, so they do last

My sons new to him (used) bike came with SRAM brakes which is a first for me and a learning curve after moving from Shimano. After some research I settled on these pads as a replacement simply because they looked the same as, what was left of, those which came on the bike. It was difficult to see if originals were metallic compound or not as the backings were so discolored but they did seem To be copper colored at one point in time so that made me choose these as a replacement. My research said you shouldn’t change between compounds on the same disk so it seems to have worked out. These were probably 2x or 3x the cost of generic pads and did seem expensive , but brakes are pretty important so peace of mind and OEM quality was worth the cost. The installation went well, the retaining screw was removed easily and these came with another fresh one which I used. The bedding in procedure was pretty much speed up and brake hard a number of times. After a day these stop on a dime! There has been no noise issues at gentle or hard braking. The only issue initially was slight rubbing ( as expected considering the old pads were so worn). After a brake flush and bleed these work amazingly well and I have the reassurance that my son has top quality brakes which won’t let him down ( so to speak) on his may down the MTB course.

These are a great brake pads for my SRAM brakes on my Specialized Enduro. Don’t pay a bike shop to change these for you. They are designed to be super easy and quick to change. The package comes with everything you need which is a set of pads, the pad tension clip, a new bolt, and the bolt retainer clip. You just remove the wheel from the bike, pop off the old retainer clip at the end of the bolt, and remove the Alan bolt that is located at the top of the caliper that runs through the pads. The pads then slide out of the opening in the back of the caliper. From there you simply reverse the steps with the new parts.. this was the first time I had changed the pads on this bike and it honestly took me five minutes tops. I cleaned my brake disc with rubbing alcohol before putting it back on the bike. Great brake pads that are super quiet so far.

Works as I would expect from SRAM Metallic. Noisy in the wet, but bites when I need it to. Love them!
