This brilliantly wry detective drama stars Caroline Catz and Lisa Faulkner as DI Kate Ashurst and DS Emma Scribbins a chalk-and-cheese duo uncovering heinous crimes amid the golf clubs, salsa classes, over-subscribed schools and singles clubs of Middle England in this case, the fictitious town of Middleford.Sassy, streetwise Emma's intuitive approach contrasts with Kate's more authoritative and analytical personality, but together ""Ash and Scribbs"" make a formidable team whose passion for crime-solving is matched only by their penchant for gossip! This set contains all twelve episodes and features guest appearances from Edward Woodward, Olivia Colman, Lynda Bellingham, Patrick Barlow and Lysette Anthony. Review: Murder in Suburbia DVD set - I've always liked this program and was pleasantly surprised to find it on DVD. Previously relying on some of my own recordings from TV, back in the day. The interaction between Ashurst and Scribs is excellent and for me makes the series. Their discussions on the state of their relationships and occasional outbreaks of foot-in-mouth disorder are the glue. The crime stories as well are varied and coherent. Review: Witty series great cast - Watched a few episodes on tv and was smitten.love the banter between the stars.good quality quirky episodes. Great series. Wish they had made more than 2 series.

Definately upper suburbia...
Watched the first and second, episode. There is the nose in the air and wealth and the "haves and have nots." The two police women were not convincing in the 1st episode, perhaps warming into the role..But don't be put off the second is a big leep forward in improvement. I am hoping a bit more professionalisem may emerge...typical of the period style in England.

Light and easy to watch
Caroline Catz is a pleasure to watch she has a great range of on screen personality. Murder in Suburbia stories are original, should have been more episodes

PLEASANT ENOUGH START BUT ULTIMATELY DISAPPOINTING
A lightweight cop series calculated gently to amuse. At its centre are Caroline Catz as DI Kate Ashurst and Lisa Faulkner as DS Scribbins, they investigating twelve cases of murder amongst the middleclass well heeled. Whilst speeding to the latest corpse, they discuss the ongoing disaster of their love lives. Within fifty minutes killers will have been identified before further jokey banter and the final credits. Season 1 is pleasant enough. Sadly Season 2 disappoints. Especially irritating this time round are NEXT TIME spoilers before the closing cast list. Throughout it is as though many involved are now sending themselves up - some silly storylines, over the top acting, trite dialogue. Embarrassments include certain scenes between Ashurst and her boss DCI Sheffield. This season required a far firmer hand, it easy to see why the plug was pulled. Overall? Incidental pleasures with interesting guest stars involved, but generally this show is an example of opportunities missed.

Murder in Suburbia
Very enjoyable series: A dark subject treated lightly with a good mix of humour, gossip and interaction between two opposite characters.

Really enjoyable series with gentle humour
Really enjoyed this series it has a gentle humour and the relationship between the main characters are what makes it . If you are wanting a hard hitting murder mystery series then it’s really not for you !

Where did this come from? I bought this on a whim. Mostly because one of the main characters plays Doc. Martin's girl friend. This is a very good series. For some reason it only lasted for 2 years. This is the complete collection. Although it is a murder series it is fairly lite hearted. Good chemistry between the 2 main characters. Lots of good natured banter between the lady crime investigators especially regarding trying to find a man they can settle down with. The story line is pretty much the typical murder investigation situation. The great part is the good interaction between the 2 main characters. If you like murder on the lite side this might make your day.

Solo i telefilm spalmati su 4 DVD. Nessun contenuto speciale. mancanza assoluta do sottortitoli, non li chiedevo in italiano mapotevano almeno mettere l'inglese. Mi aspettavo qualcosa di meglio.

Scott and Bailey did this type of all female lead cop show much better. Unfortunately the interplay between Catz and her co -star does not work. The characters are too disparate in intelligence and ability. The 'me too' rubbishing of male suspects by gossiping schoolgirls who are raised to a rank they do not and cannot deserve,is very sad.Sorry ladies This is the fault of the writers, but by the third episode,Catz's mannerisms from Doc Martin take over. I fear she is typecast, although a cop series on her own with better writing might have been more suitable. Wearisome rubbish.
