The best black ink for my Dr. Grip
0.7 mm ink is perfect for most of my writing. Dr Grip 4+1 is my favorite pen. It glides, dries quickly and doesn't glob or smear like Bic 4 color inks. Having these packs keeps me from running out of ink. It took a while to find specifically 0.7 mm ink. But it's worth it. It's good quality ink and fits perfectly in my Dr. Grip pen. Sometimes it seems like the ink ran out a little fast, but that's probably my perception. I write constantly, and there's nothing wrong with the ink. It gives a good writing experience.

The absolute best pen/ink refills
These Pilot refills (fine point) are impossible to find at brick and mortar stores. I used to occasionally find medium point refills -- but it's been a few years since I've seen them. The Pilot Better Retractable pens with "Revolutionary Ink" are my all-time favorite pens, and I've used them for the past 20 years or so. I save the pens when the ink runs out, so the refills are quite useful. These refills also fit the Dr. Grip retractable pens, which are still available on store shelves. The Pilot Better Retractable pens are unique in that they 1) are cheap -- about $1 ea 2) the ink refills rarely leak under any circumstances, 3) in the rare instance when the ink leaks from the top of the refill, it is 100% contained within the pen's body and will not stain your clothes or come out in the laundry 4) the fine point cartridges write very smoothly without globs, 5) the pens will typically write at all angles-- even upside down, and 6) will write 98% of the time without having to "shake" or having to "scribble" first to get the ink started (Shaking actually does not have any effect.) I tend to always carry one of these pens with me at all times, occasionally lose them, and occasionally forget to remove them before laundering my pants. If they go through the laundry, the ink may leak from the end of the refill, but it will remain within the pen housing. Sometimes these washed pens will still work, sometimes not. That's when the refills come in handy. The "medium point" refills I do not recommend. They do tend to glob when writing. Stay with the "fine point".

Refills for the Pilot Better Clicker pen.
Old-style ink that doesn't fade or disappear if it gets wet like the gel pens. I keep one with my checkbook. The best writing pens ever made, in my opinion. I think they last longer, too. Refills are more economical than buying new pens. I have barrels I bought back in the 1990s that are still good.

Do not fit Dr. Grip pens
These do not fit in Dr. Grip pens. So why does it say Dr. Grip on the package?

Great refills
I love the pilot pens so I just buy them once and get refills for them. They write smooth and function well with no issues. Great value for the money and much cheaper than replacing ink pens
