does anyone miss not have zz function?

Typically in canvas and upholstery one would not use the zigzag function. Alternatively the zigzag function is a requirement in sailmaking. So, if one's work (such as sailmaking) required zigzag, then they would surely miss the function. While if the work does not require a zigzag stitch, then the fewer moving parts and narrower foot of the LS-1 machine would be more suitable.

Does it have reverse capabilities

Yes, the machine can stitch in reverse. The stitch length adjustment lever is also the reverse stitch mechanism.

is there a slim(zipper style foot) available for making and sewing trim on pillows?

Yes Sailrite offers both a right and a left zipper foot for either the red or blue Ultrafeed.

Can this machine sew waxed canvas?

I do not see a reason that it would not. It will not sew waxed thread though. If you have samples that you would like to send us to test sew prior to purchase we are happy to do this for you. The machine also can be returned within 30 days of purchase if you find it does not meet your needs. (shipping costs still apply per our listed policy)
