Aw gee, I'm soooo disappointed
I am so disappointed in Assassin's Creed Unity. Yesterday the game was released and the internet was in a huge kerfuffle about how amazingly buggy the game is, glitching to the point of hilarity. So when I got home with my copy I couldn't wait to start playing so I could join in the fun. I popped the disc into my PS4, waited for it to install, and then started playing. I played it for about six hours straight. To my horror, I found that bugs and glitches are exceedingly rare. In all the time I played, I saw all of TWO glitches. One was a nice French gentleman who was stuck on the edge of a doorway, stuck and twitching like one of the ghouls from Jacob's Ladder. The other was when I was inside a chapel and noticed the huge stained glass window I had seen in a video yesterday afternoon, in which someone is climbing on the window and the frame rate goes down the toilet. I climbed up the window, and sure enough the frame rate went to hell. The good news is, there is absolutely no reason to climb on the window. If I hadn't seen that video yesterday, it never would have occurred to me to climb on it, and I never would have experienced the bad frame rate drop. But that's it. Other than that, so far it seems like nothing more than a great new AC game in which you run around a fantastically designed version of 18th century Paris, playing as a likable rogue of a character through what is shaping up to be an intriguing story. The visual design in this game is a feast for the eyes, I can't overstate how amazing it is to wander around the incredibly detailed (usually filthy)streets of the city and then enter a beautiful mansion owned by some noble, the drop dead gorgeosity of their pristine and decadent abode is delicious eye candy. The lighting effects when going from bright sunlight to a dim interior and vice versa, it's truly a sight to behold. And yes the PS4 GPU incurs a heavy toll. I don't appreciate the intrusion of outside-the-game elements, i.e. messages telling you can't open the yellow or blue chests unless you install the AC Companion App on your smartphone and create an account at the AC Initiates website. But I won't be losing any sleep over it. EDIT: A patch was released which unlocked all of those chests for all users, so it's a moot point anyway. My favorite thing about Unity is that, finally, there is a new AC game that pushes a lot of the same buttons AC2 did. I've been waiting for five years for them to reach that high water mark again, and so far it looks like Unity might be the game that finally does it. This has a been a bad year for Ubisoft as far as how the gaming community feels about them. Between Watch Dogs being blatantly downgraded and the announcement that Unity was being kept at 900p on PS4 simply to maintain parity with the XBone version, a lot of people are pissed and to some degree I agree with them. But I'm not going to let that bias me to the point where I will outright LIE about the quality of this game just to spite Ubisoft. AC Unity is nowhere near as bad as many people are claiming... most of whom have likely not even played it and never will. Based on my personal experience with the game so far, most of the bad Amazon reviews are sounding to me like flat out lies. The game has more flaws than it should, and Ubisoft does suck for releasing it with this many bugs, but believe it or not it's still actually a very good game. If you read the professional reviews, many of them make small mention of any technical aspects and tend to criticize the game for more subjective reasons, which is fine. I'm still somewhat early in the game. If my experience changes I'll update this review. EDIT Nov 14, 2014: 20+ hours in, witnessed a few more NPCs doing bizarre things like trying to walk through solid objects or floating along the ground instead of walking. Another apocalyptic frame rate drop when I was climbing on the outside of a huge cathedral. 99% of the time, no issues. EDIT Nov 19, 2014: Completed the game, never did see an unusual spike in glitches. Ubisoft have done some crappy things over the past few years and they do deserve a good pranging for it. Shame this game has become a casualty of that. I predict in the future there will be many people saying "I just picked up AC Unity for $15, I waited because I heard how bad it was... but it's great. I guess they must have fixed most of the bugs?" Even if they never patch it again, people will say that. After my own experience with Unity I'd be lying if I said it wasn't well worth playing in its current state.

A.C. Altair/Ezio! Honest and Unbiased Review
I love this game so much that idk where to start! Im addicted. People complain about the performance but i havent had any. ATMOSPHERE OF THE GAME: The setting is great! There's people all over the streets of France and theyre always doing something such as fighting, robbing, protesting, grabbing coffee, interacting, etc. The people are not just walking around in groups like in the older games. If you have been an AC player since the time of Altair & Ezio like i have been and you miss the high walls of the holy land or the tall buildings of Italy and huge churches, the city being full of buildings rather than little bamboo houses, and if you miss the underground caves and roads from AC2 and Brotherhood then this game is for you. If you only like the swamps and oceans then go play Black Flag, AC3, or Rouge. I loved Black Flag & AC3 but AC Unity i love it alittle bit more. The map is huge that honestly it's overwhelming but in a good way. Theres just so much to do. THE HATE ON THIS GAME: Ive seen a lot of reviews from people that have recently joined the Creed since AC3 or 4. Since this game takes you back to how it all began i think theyre not use to these crowds and tight spots in the cities. Theyre used to shooting cannons and climbing trees with monkeys. Also they complain about the Parkour/Freerun mechanics because it's harder. Actually it's harder at first but once you get the hang of it, within like 10 minutes, everything becomes fluid and runs great. If you like it easy and just want to hold R2 to climb and freerun then this game isnt for you. Also i see a lot of hate on the fighting mechanics which are by far the best improvements to me! The fighting style is sort of like AC One. It's actually harder though and you will be killed. It isnt like the other AC games that you can easily counter people for hours and take on an entire army. In this game you will die with just 3 or more people attacking you. Also the hate on the performance issues. Ya Id be mad too if the game gave me a lot of performance issues on the launch but as of now everything is great. So thats not something you should be worried about anymore for anyone thinking of buying this game. THE STORY: I havent really played much of the story honestly since im so caught onto playing side missions, making money, and especially co-op multiplayer. Based on what i have played from the story though i can say that Arno is a funny guy. He is sort of like Ezio back in AC2. The story i heard it's good and from what i have played it seems to be getting good. Im not going into detail because i aint going to spoil anything. GRAPHICS: Great! Better than Black Flag and it seems that in a few more years the games will actually look like their cinematic trailers MULTIPLAYER: Ive never really been a fan of AC multiplayer mode but now i am. All i play is co-op. Its really fun. especially with Mics and people that actually want to play not just mess around. PROS: Enemies are harder Huge City along with smaller cities like in AC2 Addicting Lots to do Character customization Lots to do Addicting CONS: Swords, guns, armor, etc are expensive! Addicting OVERALL: This game is beautiful. You wont be disappointed unless you are expecting it to be Black Flag Part 2: Back to the Jungle. If you love all AC games you will like this one. I honestly dont see why the hate on this game besides the performance issues during the launch. If i paid $60 dollars for my copy id say it's worth it. Luckily i got it for $30. Whatever i would of had paid i know id still be happy with the game. P.S. I made a group if you want to join its called "Spartacans" and the tag is "xVKx" stands for "Victorious Kings" lol everything else was taken and this is the best i could find. GamerTag: da-dank-ka-shank i also play FIFA 15 and i am in Division 2 if anyone wants to get beat.

Very good game with some issues
Now, to start off, I've played every Assassin's Creed game. I love Unity, the story, while having a Clichรฉ ending, and the occasional lag spike or floating NPC(As I've seen in multiple AC titles)it never really took away from the experience of being a complete and total badass. Without spoiling anything Major(or that you won't encounter within the first 15 minutes), Assassin's Creed: Unity, focuses souly on the main protaganist Arno Dorian, without going into the "fututre"(current time)too much as it did in previous titles. As a big fan of the entire "2012 mayan calander and old Roman/Greek gods and Christianity" mixed into the first few games(AC II, I'm looking at you!)the focus on Arno is not one we haven't seen before. Arno's father was killed by, presumably, either a traitor Assassin or a rouge Templar. He is taken in by the Templar Grand master, Franรงois de la Serre, and raised as his own. Whilst doing some 'minor' breaking and entering to see Franรงois daughter, รlise de la Serre, whom was raised as Arno's adoptive sister.(can't have a good game without a little incest I guess?) He witnesses the murder of his adoptive father, whose murder he is later framed for, and swears to avenge his death. After being thrown into the prison, he meets his fathers old friend, whom then, allows our french Ezio in on all that is going on with the now warring Templars and Assassins, as a new grand master has stepped up to the plate, and is presumably going to strike hard and fast on the Assassins, breaking their peace. Arno escapes, leaves to join the Assassin's, roll intro. Now, as far as Arno as a character goes, like stated previouly, he is pretty much Ezio with a "french"(very English sounding however) accent. He is somewhat likeable and charming, and not nearly as much of a bore as Connor from Assassin's Creed III, but he does lack the initial jerky lovableness of our favorite Assassin. The city of Paris however, is simply stunning. From now enterable houses, to the bustling streets of the slums, to the posh towers of the wealthy, to famous cathedrals like the Notre Dame de Paris. With thousands of NPC's roaming the streets, riots, people fighting randomly, and multiple random incounters to keep you interested for weeks on end, it DEFINITELY has tons of stuff to do. That being said however, the game is for sure not locked at 30 FPS, it's CAPPED at it. Honestly, at some points, I'm sure I could run it better on a 1995 Macintosh than the PS4 can handle it. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the PS4(Which if it is, console gaming has died and I need to upgrade my PC parts)or if it's simply the way it was programed on the disc. As I'm no technilogical expert on this, I'm going to blame the disc for now, unless I get conformation that in only the first full year of it's release, game designers have pushed the PS4 to it's processing limits. The story is meh, and towards the end(particularly after Sequence 7 chapter 3 or 4 were you have this big fight scene) I found the story to be dragging on a bit, and it was not keeping me as interested as I should be. The "main" plot after that seems to almost be about killing one character and the love between Arno and Elise. All and all, I loved the game, and would highly recommend it at it's current price of about 35$. I've posted some pictures down below that I have capture myself, using only the PS4 screen capturing software built into the system(pictures are not edited in any way), just so you may see how magnificent, stunning, and large this game truly is.

What a game, Severely underrated at its current state. Perfect for the budget gamer.
For the lack of a 4.5 star rating it will pass as a 5 star game... I never played it when it first came out due to the massive explosion of complaints that erupted from the gaming community. So I waited until it was $15 and fixed. Holy helk is this game a lot of fun. First things first delete any negative reviews or complaints you've seen or heard about this game because they simply don't hold true to the present version of the game. I have a total of 20% total sync in this game and i'm guessing around 8-10 hrs. Never have I loved being so distracted from the main story and quests by looting chests, cleaning public crimes, grabbing cockades(cheeky), completing co-op missions the list goes on. There is just so much to do in this game. I had to make this review to give Ubisoft some justice they deserve. While it is completely unfair to those who bought the game on day one, the game has received countless updates, and Ubisoft could have just left it to die. Customization of your own Arno is great i personally like wearing a very sleek outfit with nothing that jumps eccentric. The colors for your outfits are great as well and I am sporting the Ubisoft blue which contains my favorite combination of colors possible: teal as the main, and yellow as the aux. The weapon choice is also fantastic, I personally love the long weapons (spears) compared to the one handed (swords), or heavy (Great swords). Combat has received some major enhancements with more difficulty and the removal of the quick time event feel. you make your own counters now with the parry and dodge buttons... This game has the most realistic feel to combat we have seen in an AC game. While there are more positives to this game there are very minor hinderances, again VERY minor, frame rate isn't the best, I hardly ever notice the fps as the graphics are amazing and I love love love the population in the streets of France, climbing can be extremely frustration and this does occasionally reach a med-high hinderance as it can be pretty annoying. Nothing else really took away from my gameplay experience thats why it is a 4.5. I am now going to rate all the AC titles from worst to best IMO. (Syndicate not included). 7:AC Revelations (Not one single fond memory of this game, I didn't enjoy it at all 6.5/10) 6:AC 3 (No comment 7.2/10) 5:AC Brotherhood (Truly a great game no doubt but severely overshadowed by its predecessor 9/10) 4:AC Unity (9/10) 3:AC 4 Black Flag (Got 100% completion loved every second of it, buy it if you haven't already 9.2/10) 2:AC 1 (Man I have so many great memories of this game, and it was freaking hilarious at times great entrance to a great series 9.5/10) 1:AC 2 (Where to even begin I love this game so much... It is in my top 5 games of all time for sure, it was perfect in every aspect, and I honestly believe if Ubisoft takes a 2 year break from AC again we could see something spectacular, if you haven't played this game before you absolutely need to! 10/10) AC Unity isn't the best, but in its current form is a solid entry in the series... if you do purchase this game and find yourself hating the first 30min-1hr get through it! If you don't you will miss an absolute blast of a game... My recommendation is to play the Co-op mission Heads Will Roll that is what grabbed me in and you will find it about 45min in... enjoy! i hope this review helped!

Enjoyable to play.
This review is for the PS4 limited edition version. After playing the Ezio collection about a year ago, I was hooked on the AC series. So, I bought this game along with Syndicate and Black Flag and although I have had some issues with the different games, I have enjoyed playing the series. With the last three games, I have played them a bit out of order in terms of when they were released by playing Syndicate (2015), then Black Flag (2013) before playing Unity, which was release between those two in 2014. One of my complaints with the Ezio collection and black flag is the awkward feel of the controls, especially for jumping and climbing which didnโt feel smooth. I eventually got use to it, but even after playing through those games, I still struggled at times with the jump and climbing. Syndicate fixed those issues with easier climbing and smoother controls overall. Luckily, Unity plays more like Syndicate in that respect with climbing and jumping. The only complaint I have about the control layout is the change from how you access your vision, which moved to the triangle button as opposed to how it has been in all the other games. Maybe it is because I got use to how it was in Syndicate, but I am constantly hitting the triangle in the middle of combat. The eagle vision last only a temporary period of time, which I am not sure I am a fan of either. As it with the other AC games that I have played, there is lots to do with the main missions, side missions and collecting stuff. The collecting of the various objects throughout the game are the least favorite aspect of all of the AC games as they are time consuming and repetitive. Although not as difficult to find as in Syndicate, some are hard to locate and see, even with the new 3D map. I havenโt decided if I like the 3D map as in some instances it does help and some ways it doesnโt. Locating some objects, especially those inside buildings can be a bit of a pain as the map and distance to object doesnโt always clearly mark the location. The missions and side missions are pretty similar to the previous games and very similar to Syndicate in a lot of ways. The landscape is detailed and well done with really good graphics as I have come to expect with the latter AC games. The basic gameplay is essentially the same as most of the AC games that I have played. It makes it easy to get started and playing but at the same time, it only has a few additions to make it different than the previous games. There is plenty to see and do though and it is fun to explore around the city, including the inside of various buildings. I do wish there was more interactive with the people and environment in the city. Like the other AC games, there are the occasional glitchy camera views that make it hard to see and do things, such as the landscape blocking my view in the middle of a fight. There is still some finicky-ness with button pushes at times at certain locations but not as bad as the earlier games. I miss the grapple gun from Syndicate which at least so far, I donโt think is in Unity. Considering I am getting into this game 3 years after release, I avoided most of the early game bugs and got the game for less than 20 bucks on top of it. Unity can be played in conjunction with a Unity phone app but I found the app game to be pretty boring and glitchy as it disconnects quite frequently. It tended to slow my game down instead of enhancing it. The missions are a bit tougher than Syndicate and Black Flag in my opinion. The fighting doesnโt feel as smooth as Syndicate though. The story is ok as well, maybe not as strong as the other games in the series but I found it entertaining enough. I am not a big MP gamer but there are Coop missions as well which can be a change of pace. Although this doesnโt stray far from the AC formula, the game is still fun to play even with some of its flaws. 4 stars

Much improvement from the previous series!
I just finished the sequence 4. And I'm so surprised that so many people here are complaining about the frame rate drop. Yes. It happens. But it's very rare and I see such frame drops in almost every single next gen game. I suspect that they did not download the major update. or maybe these people are very sensitive about it but it's playable. No, it's enjoyable. So if you think that the frame is not high enough, just go outside and play with the infinity frame rate. Gosh. In addition, I don't know what bugs people are talking about. I have never seen a single bug in the game. The gameplay itself is very different from the previous series. Especially, you have much more options for parkour which I think the biggest improvement. It is much more fun not only to climb up structures but also to quickly climb down. Other than parkour, the overall gameplay feels really new. Running, customization, comabting, and most of other elements in the game seem that they have been redesigned. Combat system is much more challenging which I always have though it to be. In the previous games, I could wipe out an whole unit of armies with the super power low kick. Now not anymore. If you are surrounded by 4~5 guards, it's extremely hard to beat them.(without smoke bomb) Even if you do, it takes very long and more guards nearby keep coming. So you really have to be a good assassin with good strategies. Story. Well, what can I say. I seriously don't understand people rating this game very low for its story before finishing it. What I can say about Arno is that he reminds me of young Ezio. He is naughty but starts his story with responsibility that burdens him. Graphics. Well, the lighting is really sharp and great. The city was designed extremely well. But other than that, I do not see much improvement from Black Flags. The huge number of crowds makes Paris look very lively, like a real big city in real life. But the individuals do not look very detailed. And I think the frame drops are usually due to texturing such a large number of NPCs. But still, I love running around the streets of Paris Now here are my complains. I am not sure if the gears will be upgraded later in game or not but I can use the hidden blade only for assassination. If guards notice my presence, I must fight them with sword or other major weapons. I know it's more realistic but my favorite part of AC series was combating with the hidden blade. Another thing is the control. Now we have a stealth skill. But it's really hard to assassinate targets while stealthing. When I press 'X' to exit the stealth mode, sometimes Arno hops to another stealth spot or, in the worse case, he just stands up very slowly and the target notices me. I don't know. Maybe I need to play more and learn how to use the stealth mode more accurately. The last complain is the loading time. It's really long. It's almost as long as the last of us' loading time. Well, it's next gen game i guess. So, Pros - Completely new feeling of gameplay. - Much more improved parkour - More realistic combat system - Outstanding descriptions of Paris Cons - Still not very great 3d texture on characters - Limited use of the hidden blade (maybe i'm too early in game?) - Confusing situations between stealthing and assassinating. (Maybe I'm still a noob) in overall, If you liked previous AC series, you will like this game as well for sure. And the great thing is that it doesn't feel repetitive from the previous series because it gives you a totally new gameplay feeling. The frame rate drop does not bother me. But if you are always obsessed with whether a game shows good frame rate on which console system blah blah blah, just get a PC with the latest graphic card.

Fun While is Lasted
Update: So I haven't used the companion app and I beat the game without any more framerate issues, but I am not going to give any stars back because of a few reasons. One, because the story never took off, it was just an average sometimes boring story and for being set during the french revolution, I never felt like I was even a part of it. Two I am extremely frustrated that I cannot have access to about 75% of the Legendary armor. Not only do you have to pay lots of florins for these (which would be fine except) you have to unlock them by winning club competitions. Basically you create or join a club and that club competes with five other clubs and the one that wins gets an exclusive reward (one of the legendary armors, most likely random). This means you can't finalize your assassin with the armor that suits your playstyle. France is really not that big as I originally thought. It is maybe about the size of the Rome map. Anyway this game is fun and challenging on the harder missions(just make sure you always take out the snipers first), but I just find myself tiring of this game. Luckly there isn't a review embargo on Far Cry 4 so we can find out if at least Ubisoft can manage to make that game good. Don't get me wrong this game is fun, but I wouldn't pay full price for it and I find myself looking forward to next weeks releases for true greatness. I have high hopes for Ubisoft's Far Cry 4, but this one was a bit of letdown. I would place it in the same category as the first AC and AC3. Black Flag and the Ezio trilogy were far better. Edit: I'm taking two stars off and I would like to apologize to the one and two star reviewers for calling them liers about the framerate problems because now after playing the game for ten hours I have finally encountered framerate issues myself and they aren't kidding this game becomes unplayable. I guess I just got lucky and was able to play it without problems for a good while. If the problem persists though and Ubisoft doesn't patch it soon I will deduct more stars, but there is no way they would leave it like this. I did notice that the framerate issues occurred almost instantly after I linked the companion app... I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Original Review: 1. The Graphics - Oh man this game is beautiful! The fabric on one of Arno's many outfits looks as real as the leather on my couch. I am constantly stopping to admire everything I see because stuff is just so detailed and many times some of these buildings or streets look so good I could swear I was looking at a photograph. Now the graphics are not always this good. The faces and hair are about the only weak point that these graphics have when compared to the ultra detailed clothes they wear, but most of the time this game really looks wonderful. 2. The France - This game is big, really big. It does feel like it was scaled 1:1 with the real Paris and not only are the buildings highly realistic for that time period, but they are also super detailed inside and out. That's right, a lot of the buildings can finally be entered and there are so many things constantly going on it truly feels like a living breathing France. I have only seen maybe a third of the overall France. Oh, and there is no sea exploration (that I know of). It's disappointing for me as I loved it in Black Flags. 3.The Gameplay - This is by far the biggest area of improvement. Free running takes as big a leap forward as AC3 did for the series. It is not always automatic as you decide when to parkour up and parkour down depending on the button and if you don't press either one then he just runs into things or won't jump off the building. This is the first time I have been able to quickly get down from somewhere without killing myself or destroying all of my health or doing so accidentally. I can also climb up some buildings diagonally now and this makes for such a better climbing experience. And the moves Arno makes when ascending or descending differ all the time. To jump down one time he might just simply hop down or another time he might jump onto another nearby wall and then backflip off of it onto the ground. Combat is perfect. The enemies are varied where some can be easily killed and others it can become a great one on one fight or a fight for your survival where your best chance is to run away. No longer can you dispatch an entire garrison of guards with the simple repetitive counter kill move. If you decide to fight a large number of enemies you will most likely die unless you have the right gear. 4.The Customization - Finally I can make my assassin look like how I want him to and I can pick different combinations to fit my play style. Right now I am going for the low health but super fast stealthy approach and when I switch back and forth between that and a high health with slow powerful weapons I can notice a big difference in how close I can get without being seen and how often a large group will flock to me after the bodies start dropping. With the stealthy gear a big group is difficult to beat, but less likely to occur whereas the loud but powerful gear will attract a lot of attention, but I can slaughter them with ease. My only complaint with the customization are the color options. I hope they will have some more later on because these color options suck and there are only 21 choices. I think they should add a way to pick each individual color instead a pre-chosen set of three. 5.The Story - I have heard people say this game has a weak story and I am only on sequence 6, but so far the story is better than AC3, but not as good as the Ezio trilogy. It's about on par with Black Flag for me which I enjoyed. Again I don't know if the ending will suck or it becomes lame, but so far it is good. Arno is easily a likeable character and probably my 3rd favorite right now. The whole french revolution is very interesting and to me it is always cool seeing historical figures in my game just like in previous creed games. 6. The Missions - It's mostly the same as previous games. If you are tired of that then you may not care for this game. I am not tired of it keep them coming! Side missions are great fun and I haven't done any co-op, but I did complete a co-op side mission by myself that provided a stupendously fun challenge that I enjoyed as much as if it where a good single player story mission. And I think I counted around ten (give or take a few) co-op missions like that. 7. The Multiplayer - This is the only part I can't really comment on as I mostly play for the single player aspect. Looks like it would work really well and be quite fun though if you know some people with headsets to communicate and form a strategy with. All in all this is certainly not a terrible and broken game as some would have you believe. In fact, I give it 4 1/2 stars (5 on here to try and negate the one stars) because while it is not perfection or better than the Ezio trilogy, it is an awesome and incredibly fun game that I believe takes a solid step in the right direction for one of my favorite game series. If you don't like Assassin's Creed games then you won't like this one. I have played them all and I would say this one is on par with Black Flag in terms of enjoyment with a lot of improvements over that game.

Hate Uplay, love the Game
First off, a caveat: I apparently got a gold-plated copy of Unity. Clipping errors, falls through the world, cutscenes out of horror movies, I had a grand total of 3 glitches, all online. This is written from that perspective. Unity is a wonderful experience, and a great co-op opportunity, if they ever get that aspect to work. Unity is the first game that feels like a next gen in terms of raw display and sheer amount of gameplay. A major gripe I've heard is how brief the story is, but to me that feels like eating only dessert and skipping 4 other courses, as I've put in 15 hours and am maybe halfway through the whole game. Otherwise, Ubisoft is working on the bugs with co-op, so this will focus more on single player. Graphics are beyond sublime. The detail, the coloring, even the shadow play you can tell really gets the PS4 horses behind it. The number of random strangers also makes the city feel like a city. Audio is also wonderful, and just listening to the city is worth just stopping and watching for a while. Combat is steadily improved and has more layers and possible courses. Guns are as bit overpowered now, and you don't get as easy a prompt as you used to to grab a human shield, but everything gradually stacks up your abilities. Doing combat well has a benefit of granting customization cash, rather than just grinding up the housing market and becoming a billionaire used to be. Upgrades to your cafe are also more than just go hear and spend money to get more money, but layer in more story. The only downsides are that the splinter cell esque "last position" make escaping a bit of a trial, and snipers have both perfect vision and apparently NV, as every rifleman on the map will see you at the first alert, and enemies can see you from the ground way too easily. The story for Arno is wonderful, and has to be experienced as giving away anything is too much. While Ubisoft is pulling a lot of miles from their psychedelic vision quest missions, its still awesome. Your(the players) story is very meh and papered on and includes quite a few bizzare and offputting moments, as I don't think I'd join a group of self described Assassins after a single video chat from my sofa, but as you do. There's not much that can be done with the starting setup which is actually rather cute, and once you're past the alright I'll buy that moment it becomes much more enjoyable. While the other characters are hit and miss, Arno and Elise are well developed and tastefully delivered. Their love story is not shoved in your face at every opportunity, but spread out and slowly built on, with side bars, love letters, and out of mission conversations. Its actually a romantic story set in place so gently and subtly its a treat to experience when an opportunity arises. Co-op currently has serious issues. While my connection is partly to blame I'm certain, within 5 minutes of play I hit a frame rate issue that was horrific, and I fell through the floor during an air assassination into oblivion. Also, all the missions from the first one star heist requires you to have completed the single player story, as you basically must have all of the major abilities (lockpicking/double air assassination/6 star equipment) to be at all effective or to get all the benefits so it feels greatly unbalanced. Initiates is also struggling along, and is something I'd been looking forward to since AC3. Uplay must be inundated, so I may have to reappraise after the system is up and running, but currently it is just awful. The Companion App is cute and adds a bit in terms of story but feels very half-baked and is full of synchronization glitches. Side missions are revamped and almost more fun than the Assassin side bars. The murder investigations are wonderfully done and actually make you both work and at least rub two brain cells together. The Nostradamus Disc clues are hard. I wanted hard back after how much fun the Animus gltiches were in Brotherhood, and this almost swings the pendulum a little far in the other direction. But they're well done and if you are attentive the layers of the onion can be peeled away. I do like that you'll get a prompt so if you're hopelessly lost you can still find your way. Theres very few nits. The chests are a bit weird, and they all but force you into the companion app. While I'm addicted to all things Assassins Creed, that's just wrong. Collectibles is still far too much of drinking from a fire hose, and being forced to clear the map of chests that're basically worthless after about a 1/3 of the way through the game for a single trophy is annoying. A few minor bugs at random moments in single player, but nothing game changing, though that is with the caveat that I apparently got a gold plated copy, as many, MANY others has had more glitches to the point that the whole game could be called a hot mess. I wish you could see open doors and windows with your eagle vision, as trying to get into some buildings is a scavenger hunt for the one open window. Overall, this is great. Wonderful story. Engaging and challenging combat, fun, cute, and tough side missions in equal measure, and a environment that is gorgeous enough to just sit and watch. Just give Ubi a few more weeks to try and get some multiplayer aspects of it to actually work. Otherwise this is a great display of what the PS4 is truly capable of. Dead Kings DLC: Dead Kings tacks on some more story following the end of the main storyline of Unity, and is really more blah of the same variety. There're a handful of nifty environments to explore, such as a massive crumbling cathedral, but many of the missions are beyond crazy hard if you're trying to get all of the bonus points. The story opening for it is underdone and lame. The underground environments are pretty well done, but they needed a better rationale for introducing a lantern rather than imply that Arno is afraid of bats and/or cockroaches. The guillotine guns are laughably terrible, and I've yet to see another person use them, munch less use them well. I'm not through DK story yet, so maybe theres a couple good puzzle quests, but the fuse has really fizzled out already for me. I still love how massive and open the city is and all of the single player magic, but they did really drop a lot of balls from previous incarnations. AC Initiates sputtered to life and promptly died again, so maybe this'll quietly get folded off. But given out of 11 games they've managed to do 8-9 of them to the 4-5 star level, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this is mostly growing pains of handling a new level of software. While I plan to expand on this once the co-op mechanism has its major bugs ironed out along with AC Initiates, please comment why if you do not find this review useful as I'm not used to this many negative votes.

Worth it!
It was a nice touch after I play Odyssey. To get back to the old ways of assassins (and I absolutely enjoyed Odyssey. Love the game even) And the parkour system is the best! It was fun to remind myself that killing everyone or just a group of then is no longer an easy task lol. (Which is why I enjoyed berserk blades so much)

Great Game
I love the AC series and this one was awesome. It got a bad rep but it is one of my favourite AC games. It is so fun and doesn't glitch much at all. The graphics are AMAZING as well. It legit made me want to go to France.
