PICADILLY - Solid Wood 2 Door Double Wardrobe - Cream / Pine

When you type in wooden wardrobe on Amazon ,these appear, so sadly you assume that these are wooden. The description seems to fit that too. However, this really is a case of "buyer, beware", as this unit is composed primarily of MDF. It is flimsy and badly designed, The only things that have any weight to it are the heavy doors. These are so heavy that they cannot be put on properly, having only small pins to hold them in place, which inevitably, don't manage the task. The bits that come with wardrobe also bear no resemblance to the instructions. The instructions are extremely poor.When I tried to return it, the company that made it asked me to pay for the costs. this is the first time EVER that I have been asked to pay for return of heavy furniture. It would be so costly that it simply isn't worth doing. Amazon aren't helpful at all when I argued that theitem was not as described and that the public were being conned, they simply replied that i should return them, although I had already told them the cost in doing this was prohibitive.then I started worrying about the amount of MDF in the product. Remember, these were described as wooden. Even in the small print, they are described as wooden/ MDF, which might make you think the majority of the product is wooden.It sin't. This product is largely MDF. MDF contains formaldehyde. Not only does it contain it, it holds the filling (wood dust) together.According to the Health & safety executive, "Under current legislation softwood dust, hardwood dust and formaldehyde are considered to be hazardous to health. Both softwood and hardwood dusts are known to be respiratory sensitisers and may cause asthma and other respiratory problems. Hardwood dust can also cause a rare form of nasal cancer.Formaldehyde is classified in the UK, and in the European Union as a carcinogen and it carries the hazard statement `suspected of causing cancer'"This is actually underplaying the risks thought to be associated with MDF. For more information, look up American articles on MDF.So please, these aren't cheap, they aren't wood and if your preference is for MDF, they arent easy to put together.And if you want to return them, it will be virtually impossible. Take my advice and steer clear.If only for your own protection.

It’s not exactly sturdy or even square but it’s suitable for what it is and the price. It was fairly easy to put together but it took ages - even with power tools. Set aside enough time and consider buying some metal L brackets to hold the thing a bit more firm. The left hand door is a little low and I think it’s just that it’s twisting a bit toward the right. The item was damaged in the delivery too little chips on the side of the chipboard and hardboard. Nothing noticeable from the front but very disappointed with that.

Really nice waroble and the colour is perfect. So pleased with it that I have now ordered the bedside cabinet.

Very nice wardrobes. The instructions are easy enough to follow. It needs two people as it is very heavy. I have two of these wardrobes in my room and they look beautiful.

I bought a pair of these Wardrobes. The instructions lack a bit of detail however if you have built furniture before they go together in the usual manner. The top shelf and hanger rail can be set at different heights. Good value compared with the furniture stores round me.

Wardrobe was well packed. All parts were accounted for. Looks great in the room. Changed the knobs to cup handles as did the rest of the set. Completely transformed the look.
