excellent build quality
My VIVO MOUNT-KB05E keyboard works great. The build quality is excellent. I didn't want to drill into my new desk, so this clamp-on solution is perfect for me. The clamps are low-profile (flat) on the top of the desk, and far enough wide apart so that they wouldn't get in my way much even if they were taller. A minor cosmetic issue: The flat keyboard tray itself comes in two pieces. The two pieces are easy to connect together using a screwdriver on the included brackets and the result is solid, but there is a visible line between the pieces. Not a big deal, but I wish it was a single piece tray shipped in a longer box to eliminate the line and to be less work for customers when building. Before I purchased, the product information warned that a full 12 inches of clearance is required under the desk. That's true in the tray's regular configuration, but in the instructions that came with my tray, it explains there are additional screw holes for an "extended" configuration where the tray sticks out a little (about an inch and a half) in front of the desk when the tray is fully closed. I use the extended configuration which was a relief because I knew my Branch brand Office Desk only had 11 inches of clearance under there and I was worried about the tray not fitting. The product information also warns not to use this tray with a beveled-edge desk. My desk has about a half-inch bevel, which works fine with the clamp pads for the VIVO tray, so that's another issue I was worried about that turned out to be fine. Any more than half an inch of bevel looks like it would start to cause problems because the clamps need enough flat desk to press against. On my desk the clamp pads are just at the edge of the half inch bevel so I lucked out.

Very Sturdy; Probably Too Low to Fit Over Legs But Makes a Great Shelf/Drawer
I needed a clamp on drawer, but unfortunately my IKEA desk has a metal support bar lengthwise underneath that means only 6" for the drawer to slide back. I couldn't find any long skinny drawers (I need something that can hold rulers) or ones with a lot of clearance but saw this. It's fantastic! I think it would suck as a keyboard tray for my setup because it would jam against my knees or thighs (I sit high enough to use a keyboard on the actual desk). However, putting it off to the right as a rimless drawer keeps it nicely tucked away. And it is *solid*. Heavy metal and wood parts, very well machined. It slides fairly well though one glide is a little stickier than the other. It has enough clearance even with the back plate to slide back under the support bar. It holds very firmly to the 3/4" desk edge. While it's not a complete match to my pale maple veneer desk, it's tonally close enough. Now I have room for my cat's fleece pad in front of my right monitor and can still get at my organizer box of office supplies. Plus my new left monitor has a remote that sits on the sliding shelf where I won't lose it. I even put it together myself despite not being very strong or tool savvy. The instructions were nice and clear with a good mix of illustration and text, and a phillips head screwdriver is easy enough to use. I did position it over my computer so now it's slightly awkward to press the power on switch, but even though I have a huge tower there's still plenty of room especially as I generally only need to press that button once a day. Things that would make it even better: Black clamps and hardware to blend in more with my chair, keyboard, mouse pad and monitor base. Being one big shelf (it comes in two halves that bolt together with a backplate, which maybe gives it more center support, who knows, but that means the two halves don't match in grain or exact hue). Having some sort of grip underneath center front to help pull the shelf out -- needn't be big enough to jam into legs for someone using it for a keyboard, could even be a smoothly polished groove -- my hands are steadily seizing up and losing grip so even a smooth little ridge or bump on the bolted on back plate's edge near the tray front would go a long way. Having a tiny bevel at the bottom front; it currently has a sharpish edge that presses into my fingers when pulling the shelf out from under the desk. All of these are minor quibbles, none of them worth docking a star.

Minor fixes made this perfect for my use.
This is a nice keyboard tray. There is a known issue of the tray walking away from you as you type. My fix was to purchase a Barrel Bolt Latch and mount it on each side to keep the tray from doing that. The extended pin prevents it from walking. Had this come with something like that, they'd have gotten five stars. The width accommodates my keyboard and my rollerball mouse, along with a wrist rest for each. My desk is a lesser cost up/down desk so I needed to take into consideration the measurement of the space allotment under the desk so it didn't interfere with the up/down drive pin. This works and I can move the keyboard at a whim, not locking me into a specific position at the desk. Value for the money I think is very fair. Drill accuracy was good, very easy to assemble. The ease of use is great. Put a lock mechanism into play on this and you have a great tray. I am very well pleased with this set-up. I don't need the tray to tip forward as the pad I have it on does this. I adjust the height of the desk for ccommodating my wrist/hand tilt. Ergonomic perfection? Nop[e. But it works for me.

Easy to put together!
It's easy to put together, although the different screw types aren't labeled. Easy enough to figure out which is which using a little common sense. Easy to attach to my desk, and the clamps mean I can move it around or switch it to a different desk in the future if needed. I have a standing desk that raises and lowers so there's a bar/mechanical pieces underneath but this still has plenty of room of to attach.

Great keyboard and OUTSTANDING customer service
Summary: This is a great keyboard. It arrived on time and was well packaged. It's easy to assemble and clamp onto your desktop. The instructions are clear, the parts are solid -- real metal hardware and no cheap plastic parts. It's steady when you type; no wobbling even if you type fast. The tray is wide enough and deep enough to store my giant ergonomic keyboard and my mouse with a bit of room to spare. And it glides smoothly to store underneath your desktop. Or at least it does now ... which brings me to the reason I was prompted to write a review. VIVO's customer service is outstanding! Quite possibly the best company I've dealt with online or off. My excellent experience with VIVO: After carefully assembling the keyboard tray and attaching it to my desktop, the clamp on the right side seemed slightly off. No matter what I tried -- re-assembling that side, adjusting the tension -- the position of the clamp put the keyboard tray in a little bit of a bind on one side. The tray still worked technically, but was annoying. One side would slide in easily and the other lagged behind and had to be pushed a bit. I contacted the company through Amazon and got an immediate response. Based on the images I sent (which focused on the misaligned part of the clamp, but didn't show the entire clamp) they thought the issue was the slider rail. They offered me the option of returning the entire keyboard or receiving a replacement slider rail. I didn't want to be without the keyboard tray, since it was making a big difference in my hands/wrists/arms, so I asked for a replacement slider, which they promptly sent (and which also arrived quickly and was very well packaged). In the process of putting the new replacement rail on, I realized the issue was definitely not the rail, but was most definitely the clamp. One of the two pre-drilled holes in the clamp was about 1/8 inch off, meaning the keyboard was still sticking on the right side even with the new sliding mechanism. I reached out to the company again about the misaligned holes (this time with an image that showed the entire clamp). They promptly supplied a replacement clamp, which fixed the issue completely. The entire process was fast. The emails were prompt, courteous, and clear. And VIVO was willing to keep at it until the issue was fixed. Highly recommend this product and company based on this interaction.

Improved my ergonomics!
I have been using this for several months now, and I absolutely love it! It puts my keyboard at the correct height ergonomically for me. And both my keyboard and mouse fit on the shelf. It was easy to put together and install. Highly recommend.

Ok for what it is but have some issues
Update 8/7/2023 - It's only been a few months of use but the right side of railing failed and does not come out all the way so when I take the tray out then it is crooked. This product is actually not that cheap and it's sad to see that it does not last a long time. I have a desk that I bought approximately 10 years ago at IKEA. I moved about 7 - 8 times during this time period and this desk stuck with me although it is high for my height. I just can't afford another desk. It's so high I'm practically typing and using a mouse with my shoulders at my ear level. I'm getting to a point in life that I can't sleep at night because of neck and shoulder pain after spending time at this desk whole day so I decided to buy this tray that goes in under the desk so my arms would be in more ergonomic position. And yes it works! I can rest my arms on the arm rest on my chairs and my shoulders and arms are in relaxed position. The package the item came with was very well padded and felt like a premium product. the tray itself came in 2-piece but has 2 metal brackets that holds it together. It feels thick and heavy and sturdy (that's what she said). The clamps it comes with also is beefy and does not wobble around. Now on a few issues. Although this product is wide so it holds both keyboard and a mouse, it is not deep enough. If I place my keyboard in the middle then my wrists hang out of the front edge of the product and has nowhere to rest my wrists. I have to push the keyboard allllll the way back to put my wrist onto the tray then I can't access the top of the keyboard. Also, because this is 2-piece I can feel the flex in the middle. Because my desk is too high I rest my elbow on the tray and put my hand on my face to ponder about life and I feel the flex in the middle. I'm worried about durability of this product but we will see. Lastly, the rail on both sides of the product so you can pull your tray in and out does not work smoothly. My right one is smoother than the left so if I try to pull the tray out from the left or right side then it gets stuck. I have to pull somewhat in the middle to pull the tray out smoothly. Overall, I think it's a good product. It was easy to assemble and I mean I have assembling ability of a 3 year old. It was pretty expensive for me, about equal to my monthly allowance, so I'm wary of the issues mentioned above.

Very solid unit, easy to assemble and install
Pros: 1. Very study -- vigorous typing doesn't faze it. 2. My standard keyboard with number pad, etc., leaves plenty of room for my mouse. 3. My infrared mouse seems to work well directly on the unit's surface, which is a slightly roughened black plastic. When I had the mouse on my wooden desktop, it didn't work nearly as well -- had to use a mouse pad, which I no longer need. 4. Unit slides in and out smoothly. I was worried that it might slide too easily, but it seems to stay at whatever extended location I choose. in other word, moving it requires a bit of force -- a good thing. Cons 1. Clamps to your desk. This is easy, versatile, but not so great visually and if you do a lot of non-computer work (with the unit under the desk) you might find your arms contacting the clamps, which stick up nearly 1/4 inch above the desk top. The working space between these clamps is about 27 inches. 2. No height adjustment. It seems to be designed for a "standard" desk. It's perfect for me -- my legs fit under it easily and it's support surface is at the height of my chair's armrests. My wife's desk is lower and it definitely wouldn't work for her. Other comments 1. If your mouse and/or keyboard have cords, you'll probably want to route them somehow -- depending on where you're connecting. Prior to getting this unit, my cords went down the back of my desk and were out of the way. With the unit installed I needed to attach the cords to the underside of my desk to keep them from hanging down and getting tangled in my feet. 2. I'm hoping this will help mitigate "mouse shoulder", which was starting to bother me. (My wife points out that cutting back on video game play time might be even more effective. That will be my last resort.) So far, so good. Update after many years of use: Still working well. It did indeed cure my "mouse shoulder" problem. Two minor negatives: 1. The surface on which I rested my mouse eventually wore down to a very smooth and shiny finish, forcing me to add a mouse pad. Most of those barely fit next to a standard keyboard but I found something that works. 2. I would really like some way to lock it in the extended position. It extends and retracts so easily that I find myself having to keep pulling it back out, especially during gaming when I need it to be stationary.

Sturdy
I bought the 34 x 11 clamp on keyboard tray for a stand up desk that didn't come with a keyboard tray, it is extremely sturdy and easily installed. The only minor issue is that the plastic is very slippery and the keyboard tends to move, so I have ordered a large mouse pad for the tray.

Solid keyboard tray
Needed this for my 49 key MIDI keyboard and it's the perfect fit, except for the height which I bought the height extender from the same brand for. So happy!
