Easy Immune Support That Cats Actually Eat
These chews have become a staple in my cat’s daily routine. Packed with lysine and DMG, they help support immune health, especially for cats prone to sneezing or watery eyes. I’ve seen noticeable improvements in less than a week — more energy, fewer symptoms, and an overall healthier vibe. The best part? My cat actually eats them like treats. No hiding pills, no mess. They’re soft, easy to chew, and small enough for even picky eaters. I’ve used them during seasonal changes, stressful events, and even just as daily maintenance. Pros: Supports immune system and respiratory health Cats love the taste — easy to give Soft texture, no crumbling or powder mess Effective for both kittens and adult cats No artificial colors or preservatives Cons: Needs consistent use for best results Some cats may be suspicious at first (but most warm up quickly) Bottom Line: This is one of the few supplements that actually works and doesn’t feel like a battle to give. If your cat deals with eye discharge, sneezing, or just needs an immune boost, this is a game changer.

Rally loves them and his fur is so soft now!
UPDATE 3 years later- I stopped giving him these for no reason, and he has only had 1 flare up a year. I just bought some more as the vet suggested my cat always eat these. He ate this batch for a week, then he got really sick, stopped eating. I am pretty sure he got sick due to another counterfeit product (Nutramax Proviable DC bought through an Amazon 3rd party seller,) but since then he will not eat these, yet will eat the expired ones from 3 years ago. So, I am worried this might be a bad batch. The old vs the new bag smells very different to me. The new one does not smell better. Both are moist, so it's not that. One could assume that is because one is expired, but I feel there is more to it. I contacted the manufacturer and they suggested to only buy from Healthy Pet or chewy.com for they sell directly to them. I got a 3 month old kitten from the shelter. They said he had upper respiratory infection and gave me some pink medicine to give him for 7 days. When I took him home, he sneezed a few times that day. Then, it got worse the next 4 days as he was all congested, sneeze attacks, snorting while eating food. His eyes weren't too watery as I've seen others say. He just sounded miserable when sleeping. I even ran the shower on its hottest and held him up in the room for a bit. But luckily he still had lots of energy and was scarfing down all his wet food. A friend of mine told me about this product so I got it right away. I am sure the medicine really got him better, but I really think these helped. And hopefully help prevent flair ups. He loves them. He thinks they are a treat. I give 2 a day and break them up into 3-4 pieces. His fur got so soft! Has to be because of these. I highly recommend them.

Did the job in promoting wound healing.
My cat does not have herpes but is very old at 20 (nearly 100 years old in human years), frail and thin. It's been a struggle to keep weight on her and she heals much more slowly than when she was a youngster. Out of nowhere she developed a swelling on her cheek and by the next morning she had an awful allergic reaction to what turned out to be a spider bite, which popped open spilling fluid mixed with blood all over the place, and morphed into the worse looking 1+ inch diameter lesion I've seen on an animal. She's petite and only 4 pounds, so for her, this was huge. I started applying Neosporin 3 times a day and began the Vetri-Lysine Plus chews after reading that lysine can also be used for animals, that it was very beneficial for boosting the immune system and for wound healing. It's been 6 days now and she's been on the lysine/DMG for only 3 days but it's like a miracle. The lesion is now about the size of a dime, all dried up and with no swelling. She's so much better, eating more than usual, purrs up a storm and is even playful. Hope the hair grows back, but that's the least important. Started reading more about Lysine and DMG in the last couple of days and am beginning to wonder if it might help her in other ways too. Her Vet said that her weight loss and frailty is a part of the normal aging process and that there really isn't much we can do. Maybe not, but if you read about what Lysine and DMG allegedly does for humans, maybe it can also help an old cat gain back some muscle and weight, improve balance, keep illness at bay, strengthen bones, etc. It'll be worth a try. Once completely healed, I'll probably keep her on it indefinitely, but on a lower dose and probably only 1 every other day to see if it helps in other ways. Currently, she's getting 2 chews a day (3 the first day) and luckily she likes them. Also read that too much lysine over a protracted period of time can cause liver damage in humans, so will keep a careful watch on the dosing. Some of the other reviews say that the chews really aren't soft, but they aren't hard either. They're pressed into very tight little fish shaped nuggets. They crumble a bit when my cat eats it, but she just licks up the crumbs from the palm of my hand.

helping with my kitten's eye herpes
I have five cats and at least three of them have eye herpes. One of them is a 10.5-month-old rescued kitten I got last month. I am fairly certain he had eye herpes before I brought him home, but at any rate, there is a bit of kitty stress in my household right now as he integrates himself, so one of my other eye herpes cats may have been shedding the virus and infected him. Thankfully, he does not have ulcers, but he has clear eye discharge and sometimes sneezes. So I asked my vet about lysine options. Please note: this has chicken-based flavoring in it so it will not work for cats with chicken allergies and/or inflammatory bowel disease. (If you have a cat like that, your best bet is buying lysine tablets for humans and crushing them, then suspending them in liquid, drawing up in a syringe, and administering that way. Human lysine tablets are a bit too big for a cat to swallow.) If your cat is able to have most treats and such, these chews are a far better (as in, more pleasant for the cat and easier to administer) option. Anyway, the herpes virus requires a lot of the amino acid arginine (which has a long carbon side chain and a positively-charged nitrogen-containing group on the end) for replication. Giving lysine (which also has a long carbon side chain and a different positively-charged nitrogen-containing group on the end) in large amounts means lysine is taken up more by the cell machinery producing viral proteins. Only, when lysine is incorporated into viral proteins in place of arginine, the proteins don't fold properly and don't function as well (or at all). (This is true for human herpesviruses as well, so if you tend to get cold sores, take lysine tablets. It is an amino acid that you would need anyway. Just follow dosing instructions on the bottle.) So, in order to get my kitten's eye herpes under control before he starts scratching at his eyes or something, I am giving him this. He's been on it for a few days and it seems to be helping. He has less eye discharge and I haven't heard the sneezing for awhile. He's also not scratching at his eyes. He's still skittish so I just throw a treat or two on the floor in the morning before feeding him. I do this when he's hungry so I know he will eat these. He likes them and doesn't have much trouble chewing/eating them. (They're what I would call "semi-moist." They don't have a strong smell.) These are not causing my kitten any digestive upsets, which of course I'm very happy about. The bag is resealable to preserve freshness. If your cat is walking around with one eye closed or you see the third eyelid covering a large portion of the eye, there is probably an ulcer. You will need to take your cat to the vet and get a fluorescein stain and some antibiotic drops or ointment. This product will not cure ulcers. (I've seen the extremes of cat eyes damaged by eye herpes and you do not want to go there. It is expensive and requires many trips to the veterinary ophthalmologist.) Ulcers must be treated quickly and appropriately. But if your cat just has some discharge and sneezing and you have reason to believe s/he has eye herpes, these treats can help. Anyway, I'm very happy that these are working. Nice to know I can get them from Amazon if my cats have issues in the future.

Caused severe constipation and a high vet bill
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend these! Our Vet had recommended these to support the immune function of one cat and he rejected them and mainly use them as toys to bat around on the ground. Our other cat loved these though and looked forward to her treats every evening. Unfortunately, after a bag and a half over several weeks, we ended up at the emergency vet with severe constipation. $600 later she is finally starting to recover, but after reading the reviews here we are confident that this is where her digestion issues stemmed from since she is almost 7 years old and has never had digestion concerns before.

Great ingredients, but my cat isn't a big fan of the taste
I bought these VetriScience lysine chews to help boost my cat’s immunity and manage their sneezing, especially since it's a trusted brand. While the product quality and packaging are great, my cat just doesn't seem to care for the chicken flavor. The chews are soft, but my cat sniffs them and walks away. I usually have to crush them up and mix them into wet food or treats just to get them to eat a little bit. If your cat is a picky eater, you might want to keep the palatability in mind before buying.

Excellent Product--works very well for the control of a wide array of herpes virus related cat health issues.
Yes! It will help! I have a Siamese, Maine Coon, Tabby, Mutt :) that has very bad nasal discharge and post nasal drip so bad that makes him throw it up with his food! Yuck! He was not getting any sleep over his continual coughing, sneezing, and throwing up. I gave up taking him the vet since they would just give him antibiotics that would slow it down for a bit and then it would come right back, so instead of allowing him to develop a resistance to the antibiotics I opted to wait until I could find a better answer. Within a few days of starting the Vetri-Lysine Plus his sneezing and stuffy nose subsided, and he stopped coughing almost entirely. I have to give it to him 2 times a day about 12 hours apart for best results. The added advantage is that the DMG worked to help reduce his sore kidney issue that I was dreading to take him to the vet for. Siamese are known to develop kidney issues, so I was pretty sure there wouldn't be much they could do for him since he is 14 years old. His kidneys don't bother him at all any more! I started giving all my cats DMG since they are all old. It is dosed out every other day with canned food from a bulk form of DMG I get from Amazon (he gets extra now) and I am amazed at all the problems it has cleared up. I haven't slept in almost two years, since I started taking the DMG daily I sleep really well, and I have been dreaming! After 20 years of no sleep to speak of, and trying everything there is to try--the DMG worked! The DMG is a really good reason to buy this version of L-lysine, other brands don't have it. My cat did not like it at first, but the other 4 did, so I had to force feed it to him. However, after he realized he could breathe better he no longer resists. He takes it twice a day without any argument now! The Rosemary is a product stabilizer used in place of BHA/BHT, which are 2 very bad chemicals. I'll take the Rosemary over the artificial stabilizers, so far have seen no ill effects in my cat from the Rosemary. I've been using the Vetri-Lysine Plus for almost 3 months now and my cat is doing very well!

Impressed by the results
My female calico who is getting to an advanced age was never fussy over the oral lysine gel we used to treat her. She would even turn her nose up at food we tried to mix with the gel to avoid administering it to her by hand, which could be a struggle. For that reason I was reluctant to try these treats but wanted something she could take that was less stressful for the both of us. At first it wasn't a success, but after luring her in with a regular treat and then rewarding her with another one afterward she was eventually consuming these treats without the need for the non-medicinal ones. After a week or so of two treats twice a day I noticed an improvement. My cat became more energetic and alert, and also stopped shaking her head and sneezing so often. The discharge from her eye only seems mildly reduced, but cleaning it up is no problem now that her overall health has improved. Needless to say I will be purchasing more.

Efficace
Un peu gros à mâcher pour mon chat alors je le mets dans son bol en le coupant en deux..et il accepte ainsi ! Efficace car ses yeux pleurent moins. Donc 1 poisson plus la lysine en pompe 1x par jour!
