Following the release of 2016โs debut album โdo nothing till you hear from meโ, and a Progressive Music Award 2016 in the Vanguard category, โtardigrades will inherit the earthโ โ the 2017 album by THE MUTE GODS โ is an even more adventurous rock opus than its predecessor. Contrasting infectious, catchy songs with rather grim perspectives on the state of religion, politics, media, and the environment, THE MUTE GODS blend the โout of the boxโ thinking approach of progressive music with a timeless melodicism and addictive hooks that cannot deny a certain alternative rock edge. Featuring Nick Beggs, long-time collaborator of Steven Wilson, Roger King (Steve Hackett), and the exceptional drumming skills of Marco Minnemann, THE MUTE GODS have forged a darker, deeply thought-provoking record that bears a sarcastic lyrical feel resulting in such impressive singles as โWe Canโt Carry Onโ or the title-track as well as seven minutes long, highly dynamic pieces like โThe Dumbing Of The Stupidโ or โWindow Onto The Sunโ. Beggs comments: โThis album asks people to take off their rose-tinted spectacles and consider the reality facing us. At this point in my career, I feel strongly that itโs important to use music as a vehicle for truth, not just feel-good entertainment.โ Still, it feels good to be able to sink into the extremely smart, well-crafted musical and lyrical content of โtardigrades will inherit the earthโ.
