Creative Coloring Animals

I can’t even remember how long ago I bought this coloring book but I’m betting at least 10 years ago. I bought it to share with both children and adults that I was working with on a theater production. But I had a lot of other coloring books to share then too, so there were plenty of pages in this one left for me to enjoy. I just pulled it out again after all this time and purchased a set of 48 of the Amazon Basics coloring pencils. I also have a set of 24 gel pens from all that time ago. I’m guessing those could also be purchased quite cheaply. Between the pencils and the saturation of the gel pens, working on these coloring book designs is so completely Zen and relaxing and beautiful to do during the holidays! It’s because the stencil outlines are so intricate and gorgeous - giving you utter whimsy in choosing your colors- whatever you pick looks like it was meant to be… I also like that this is full-size pages with really nice thick paper and they are perforated along the binding so you can pull them out easily to work on or to share the designs with family and friends who like coloring. :) Adding a pic of a bird with flowers that I finished and an ostrich head that I just started and then midway through for examples. I HIGHLY, highly recommend this coloring book, and any of the others by this artist! I can’t wait to get the Botanicals book by her next.

This coloring book is perfect for an adult that needs to take their mind off of something. It lives up to its name and is perfect for relaxing. I gave this coloring book 5 stars because it is exactly what I ordered. The pictures are very detailed and look like the pages shown online. This coloring book teaches you different ways of coloring and how it is important to pay attention to each little part of the picture. It also gives examples and pictures of different ways to color each page. I would definitely say that this is not a coloring book for young children; it was made especially for adults or individuals that have a lot of time on their hands. The attention to detail is amazing, and each page takes some concentration to complete. There is a wide variety of animals to choose from such as farm animals, aquatic animals, exotic animals, etc. I especially like how each animal in the coloring book has its own personalized name on the back. Creative Coloring Animals was well priced at $9.99. Most other adult coloring books I have encountered have been in the $15-$20 range, so this is a steal. The paper that the pictures are printed on is very good quality, as it does not get flimsy or rip easily. I would recommend this coloring book to anybody looking for a way to relax and spend some time doing something fun!

What a fun coloring book! This book it so beautiful. It comes with coloring ideas and basic tips, including a color wheel. The author also includes some pages that offer coloring inspiration. She also tells you what she colored the pages with (colored pencils, markers, etc.) and includes the brand names. The designs are on one sided with an inspirational quote on the back. The pages are perforated for easy removal. The book is so beautiful you might want to consider making copies of the designs so that you can color them again, if you so desire, or share with a friend. Love this book!

I love this coloring book! I don't color straight on the originals; the copyright page says that you're allowed to make copies for personal use, so I just made some copies and have been using them. The only issue I have with this book is that the perforations on the pages are a little difficult to use, especially on pages further into the book. Since it's designed to let you pull out pages cleanly like this, I'd almost rather it have come packaged as a set of loose pages in a little sleeve or something like that. Just an idea. I'm a para at a high school, and one of the classes I attend with students is an introduction to drawing class. The students had been working on some coloring and shading techniques, so when I showed this and the "Inspirations" book to the teacher, she loved it. It's really nice that the book presents suggestions for different coloring techniques, color selection methods, and the way that different coloring media change the overall look of the finished piece. She also loved that many of the animals aren't drawn "conventionally" in full profile, but that the artist plays with perspective. I've been really enjoying these "grown-up" coloring pages. I have ADD, so these coloring pages are actually a great additional resource for me when I'm feeling extra-fidgety while watching a movie or TV with my friends, or when I need a little break from intense mental or emotional experiences (I'm working on a Master's thesis in English, and sometimes when I've been reading theory books for hours on end, it helps to just color a little). Piece of advice: Get yourself some nice Dick Blick or Prismacolor pencils and a nice, metal hand sharpener and try out some of the cool shading techniques demonstrated at the start of the book! Don't forget to make a copy of the page you're working on so that you can try it a different way later!

The images in this coloring book are quite detailed, so would be difficult for a younger kid. Teens+ would be able to handle it. The images are cute, and variety is good. I carry one when I travel so I have something to kill time on the airplane. I can tuck it in my bag with some colored pencils, and I'm good to go. I have several that I choose from, sometimes just pulling out a page from the book to take with me.

I like this book for its unique way of drawing these 30 animals. Its also nice that a little art lesson is given in color use in the front of the book. I use this book as my master copy so cannot comment on how the paper responds to different mediums although the paper feels thicker than a lot of the other books I have. This book challenges imagination on how to color the pages. There are colored thumbnail pictures of the pages so you can get some inspiration from those if needed. I will be working on this book for quite some time.

I have ordered a few different adult/expert coloring books (not from this brand), and I will say that I was the most excited to receive this one because this company publishes a large selection of these types of books and they all looked wonderful. I was disappointed however when I recieved the book- when I opened it, I was surprised to see that the images were fairly small compared to the size of the page- there was a lot more white space on each page than I would have anticipated. Most coloring books in this style seem to take up the entire page, so I thought I would be getting an animal on each page with the rest filed up with some background design. Also, most of the designs are very repetitive in the sense that the animals are mostly comprised of small dots. Yes, there are other designs to color, but dots seem to take up about 70% of each animal in the book. There is a great tutorial in the front of the book for ways to color these designs, but it seems to focus more on gradient style coloring of large areas vs. coloring each individual dot/design on the overall drawing. This is cool and a great way to learn, but again, not what I was expecting. I appreciate this book from the stand point of a relaxation/therapy tool- opposite each of the pictures in the book is a quote of some sorts and and area to write down thoughts as well. So it definitely wins as an overall relaxation tool if you use these books for that.

I love this coloring book, it has amazing, quality pictures to color and does provide a few already colored sample pages at the front. However all of the pictures that are colored at the front have an exact copy in black and white for you to color as you choose. Pictures are one per page and there are no pictures on the backs. Markers do bleed through so put a piece of paper in between the pages or tear the already perforated pages out.

Recently got into the adult colouring fad! So decided to buy this and it has a lot to do. First couple pages has basic colour idea,colour tips (primary colours,secondary colours and tertiary colours),a few already coloured pictures for inspiration and 30 different animals to Colour. These designs are heavily creative and loads of spaces to colour which will take hours to colour .my favourite part of this is that opposite each page has postive quote to uplift your mood or to get you thinking which is great for people with anxiety or depression as focuses the mind on colouring and quote rather how they feel.this just isn't great for adults but also children.my three year old adores these designs which is helping her hand and eye co ordination

This is a wonderful colouring book to pass the time. The designs are beautiful, pages thick so the marker does not bleed through. Very relaxing and fun! I would recommend fine tipped markers for this book as the detailed designs within can get pretty tiny.

Lovely animals for illustrations. Lots of detail in the drawings. Love it
