This body paint is more of a highlighter at first pass. It's true to color, but very thin for a body paint so to get the solid gold advertised in the listing you would need probably 9-10 layers of it to really get it consistent. This is a shimmery gold cream makeup. You get a lot in this compact. There is no applicator so please choose one of your own. I started out by swiping a bit on my eyelid with my finger. It can have a very sheer shimmery effect or be built up for more gold color. It might be challenging to apply a lot of color evenly because it is so creamy it keeps wanting to blend and spread. You will definitely need setting powder or spray to make this makeup stay where you want it, but the color and shimmer are great and it doesn't irritate the skin. If you have plans to be a gold trophy for Halloween this would get you covered, just be patient. I think it might be better for golden accents in face painting designs, but feel free to experiment!
