Review: brew very quickly - It is awesome Review: My First Percolator - I have been wanting to try a coffee percolator for a while, and this one has been a good introduction. I stopped using coffee pods because I wanted to avoid plastic touching my drinks as much as possible. From what I can tell, the coffee in this percolator has little to no contact with plastic, and I really appreciate that. It is also easy to use, and the instructions for how much coffee to add are clear. My first pot came out a little weak for my taste, but that seems more like a learning curve than a problem with the pot itself. Next time I just need to adjust the amount of coffee and how long I let it brew. I am still very excited to keep using this coffee maker.

Buyer Beware!
I ordered this coffee pot in a hurry, because I wanted to replace my all-stainless steel percolator that suddenly stopped working. I should have taken time and researched, but I wanted a percolator asap. All current reviews of this pot do not offer actual nor adequate information. I have owned and used a percolator for at least 30 years, and I do so because I do not want to drink coffee exposed to plastic/aluminum/coatings while brewing. This item has a black-coated insert in the bottom, and there is no information as to what material that is. While the knob is glass, I can’t find any information on what type (borosilicate?). It doesn’t seal to the top, but that doesn’t bother me. I can’t tell if all parts are stainless steel, for the instruction manual only describes the pot as stainless steel, not the coffee basket, pump tube, etc. They are described as “metal.” Another big negative for me is that there is no on/off switch, so once you remove to pour and replace the pot back on the base, it starts percolating again. It constantly boils while on the base. Is there a feature to keep the pot from boiling dry- I don’t think so. I didn’t keep using it to find out, but there is no mention of it. When not in use, one must unplug the base or leave the pot off the base. This was a deal-breaker along with the suspicious materials inside the percolator. I prefer an on/off button and total stainless steel parts. I should have examined the entire advertisement more before ordering. This product does not disclose the manufacturer and no information is in the cryptic instruction manual. I am returning this product and ordering a no plastic, no coatings, no aluminum, all stainless steel percolator (which actually costs less) . If you are against hot coffee on plastic, aluminum. unknown coatings, etc, beware of this item.

Didn’t last long!
Lasted about a year. Made coffee in it twice a day. Lights went out after about 3 months. Don’t think you can buy any that are better than 4****!

An Electric Percolator that doesn't have to stay tethered to the wall
Although I use a small automatic drip coffee maker as my "daily driver", I already own several electric percolators. I personally find the usual complaints about percolated coffee, that it's harsh, bitter, and over-extracted, unfounded. This is especially true with electric percolators that do a much better job of ensuring the proper temperature for brewing and precisely time how long the coffee brews. What attracted me to this percolator was that it had a removable base that allows you to take the percolator itself off the base to serve and then place it back on for the coffee to remain warm. This is a really nice feature that many percolators don't offer. From a styling standpoint, I love the glass knob, a feature on most vintage percolators but that isn't technically needed on an electric percolator. The purpose of the glass knob historically was so that you could monitor the color of the brewing coffee to determine when it was done, but with an electric percolator a timed brew cycle makes this an unneeded feature, but there is something sort of wonderful about seeing the coffee bubbling up in the knob. I find the handle to be a little chunky and it's just not as nice looking as the handle on my Presto or Faberware, but it IS very comfortable to hold. The percolator itself feels lighter than my other percolators but I think this is likely because the base is a separate piece. Otherwise, this has very traditional styling and the carafe, lid, stem, brew basket are all made of stainless steel. the brew basket itself seems to be almost an exact copy of the one in my Faberware Percolator and when I used them both the other day had to look really hard at them so I didn't mix them up. This is simple to use. You just fill the percolator with the desired amount of water, while filling the brew basket with the appropriate amount of ground coffee. Now, I personally just use good ol' fashioned supermarket coffee and use paper filters designed for percolators to avoid getting grounds in my coffee. However, you could easily grind your own coffee to a less fine ground and maybe do away with the paper filter. Either way, once you fill the brew basket, you place the lid on top, place it on the stem and then place the stem in the percolator where it should seat into the little well at the bottom. At that point, place the lid on top and plug in the percolator. The green light will come on to show you that it has power and about 7-8 minutes later the light orange/red light comes on to tell you it's done percolating. Now it's time to enjoy to good HOT cup of coffee! If you already enjoy percolated coffee this is nice upgrade over the old electrics that had to be tethered to the wall, and the glass knob is a little design "perc"! If you're not familiar with percolated coffee but want to give it a try this model is worthy of your consideration!

Love the design but no on/off switch
I really love the design and how easy it is to use with its lift off coffee pot from the heating element/corded base. What I don’t like is that there is NO on/off switch.

Perfectly brewed coffee with a classic feel
I’ve been looking for a way to get away from the standard drip machines, and this electric coffee percolator has been a total game-changer for my morning routine. The first thing I noticed is how solid the 12-cup stainless steel construction feels; it looks great on the counter and feels like it’s built to last. The coffee it produces is incredibly hot and flavorful, which is exactly what you want from a good percolator. I really appreciate the clear brew knob on top because it’s actually fun to watch the coffee perking, and it gives you a clear sign of when the process is in full swing. The 360-degree base makes it super easy to grab and put back from any angle, which is a nice touch when you’re still half-asleep. I was also worried about burning my hand, but the cool touch handle works exactly as advertised, staying comfortable even when the pot is full of boiling coffee. Another huge plus is the heat retention; it will remain hot long after it's been turned off, so you don't have to rush through your first cup just to get a warm second one. Although the price point is a wee bit high, it’s definitely worth the value for the taste and the longevity of being able to use the coffee long after it's made because it remains hot. Cleanup is pretty straightforward since it’s stainless steel, and the overall design is just really user-friendly. If you want a large capacity pot that delivers that classic, robust coffee taste without any fuss, this is a fantastic pick.

OK Coffee, but Missing Key Safety Feature
I got this Electric Coffee Percolator primarily for its high capacity, and on that front, it delivers - brewing up to 12 cups is perfect for hosting or a busy morning. The design is okay; it has a classic look that fits well on the counter without being too flashy. Most importantly, it does an overall good job in brewing coffee, producing a hot cup that could satisfy a percolator fan, but it's not the best brewed coffee I tried using other percolators. And there are two significant drawbacks that keep this from being a five-star product: No Auto-Shutoff Feature: This is a major inconvenience. Because it lacks a safety shutoff, you cannot leave it on the base once the brewing is done without risking it boiling dry. You have to be physically present to unplug it or move the carafe immediately, which makes it less "set and forget" than other modern electric models. Material Construction: The listing emphasizes the stainless steel, but there is a plastic piece inside the assembly. If you are looking for a "fully steel" path for your coffee to avoid plastic contact, this isn't quite it. It’s a solid brewer if you don't mind the manual monitoring, but the lack of a boil-dry failsafe is a missed opportunity.
