A little curved
I’m giving this four instead of five because it arrived and it was not completely flat so the magnets are not usable that are on the back. It has a little bit of a curve to it. It is definitely age-appropriate and easy to use, and I do think that the value of the components that are on this teaching clock for the price is worth it.

warped, won't stick to the board
Waste of money, I ordered one and it was warped, when I straightened it to go on my board, it cracked the cardboard. I then ordered a replacement and it came the same way. I am now stuck with two of these and need to go to a UPS to return them, now wasting my time.

Simple and effective learning tool, magnets don’t work
Out of the package I was a little disappointed that the whole piece was curved. That worried me about the ability of the magnets to get a good setting on a flat surface, and I was correct. The magnets won’t work. I tried to gently (or so I thought) bend it back into shape and ended up making a crease in the middle. As I was doing this, my 4 year old walked in and immediately wanted to “play” with it, so I gave it to her. When I got this I had my 6 year old in mind, since he’s got the basics down I thought it’d be nice to get more advanced with this tool. But my 4 year old, I didn’t really think she was ready. She is pretty comfortable with numbers up to 20, and she has been interested lately in the big wall clock in our living room, so she has a rough idea of the short hand meaning the hour of the day. I was really surprised how easy it was to do a little lesson with her at the table. So I knocked off a star for the magnets not working properly, but I do still think this has value as a learning tool. Everything else worked well and it does a good job at engaging kids for hands on learning.

Helpful Visual Tool for Learning Time, With Some Build Limitations
This Edumix writable learning clock worked well for its main purpose, which is teaching time in a clear, hands-on way. My child is 6, and she picked up the concept very quickly using this clock. After one focused learning session, she already understood how the hands move and was able to remember and explain the time back without much prompting. I especially like that there is plenty of space at the bottom to write out the time, which reinforces the lesson beyond just reading the hands. The board itself is about 11 by 11 inches, which feels like a good size for tabletop learning. The cardboard is fairly thick, giving it a sturdy feel during use. That said, because of the thickness and rigidity, the board is not perfectly flat, which limits how practical the magnets on the back are if you were hoping to mount it to a surface. This was not an issue for us since we use it on a table, but it is something to be aware of if wall or fridge use is important to you. The clock hands are very thin cardboard with a plastic coating, and they feel more delicate than the rest of the board. The dry erase markers worked well overall and erased cleanly, though they do need to be capped periodically to keep the ink flowing smoothly. The layout itself is thoughtful, and I plan to cover the minute numbers next so my child can transition to reading a more realistic analog clock. Compared to apps or worksheets, this hands-on clock was more effective for us, especially for visual and tactile learning. It is also easier to engage with than some wooden clocks that do not allow writing. While I do not expect it to hold up to heavy, long-term reuse, it served its purpose well and was effective for early time learning with one child.

Magnetic Writable Dry Erase Learning Clock for Kids
I was excited to get this learning clock for my kids to help them learn how to tell time, however we were all very disappointed in it. The clock is made of a cardboard like material which doesn't allow smooth movement of the hands so it's hard to get them to the proper times. The carboard is thin and mine arrived very warped which make it completely unfunctional. It's stated as "magnetic" however we couldn't get even the strongest magnet we have to stick to it so I believe that's false. The dry erase markers included are actually fine and we do use them, however don't even bother trying to write on the clock with them as they don't erase well. The clock went straight into the trash. $8 for 2 dry erase markers is crazy overpriced (those are the only things worth anything in this kit). Stick with a plastic clock or at least something that is better quality than a flimsy piece of cardboard.
