Why is this product so expensive on amazon but only like 30 bucks elsewhere?

If you’re finding it for $30 elsewhere then it’s likely not an authentic copy of the game. If it has the word “reproduction or “repro” for short, then it’s not real and doesn’t have all the same features as the authentic version. For instance, the Wi-Fi features don’t work and you are unable to trade/battle other trainers.

Is this a remake or original game from the store?

It's an updated version of the original, better graphics, ability to run, waaaay more pokemon including pokemon from generation 3 and 4, it also includes the Suicune side quest as well from Crystal.
