Comfortable and stylish
My goal for this purchase was a safe, comfortable bike helmet that doesn’t look like a nerf football, and this helmet delivered. It’s lightweight but fits securely. As a short person, I have a head circumference on the smaller side: I went with the small size helmet and it fits perfectly around my head. The interior is comfortable, and the helmet is very breathable even during high-intensity rides or just hot summer days. The chin strap is a tiny bit short for me, but doesn’t pinch or rub even for being just slightly too tight of a fit. I also really like the texture of the leather chin strap— much better than the ridged nylon kind on other bike helmets. The clasp is very easy to use: it slides towards or away from your chin when operating, unlike other helmets with a clasp that closes side-to-side. This clasp mechanism takes some getting used to but is easy enough, and not once have I accidentally pinched a bit of skin when securing this helmet— while I sometimes do with helmets that use a side-to-side closure clasp.Overall it just looks good, and I am not riding around feeling anxious about looking like a bomb pop, or sweating into an uncomfortable foam interior, or fussing with a chafing chin strap. I don’t notice the helmet at all when I’m riding, and that makes it perfect.

The PERECT commuter helmet you need RIGHT NOW
I know, my review title is a bit hype, but hear me out..There are so many good things I have to say about this helmet, I don’t even know where to start. The first thing that I loved about the Heritage collection helmet is its looks. I couldn’t decide between the white or the triple black version, however I ultimately opted for the triple black to play it safe. However, I love all of the color options so much that I honestly feel like I will end up buying more than one for different occasions or outfits. I know, I’m that person. The construction of the helmet is solid and makes me feel safe. I love the matte finish to the black, and while it does pick up fingerprints a bit easily, they don’t show that much which is nice. It feels really good in hand and has a good weight to it. The buckles are well constructed to provide a tight fit and I was pleasantly surprised with the magnetic closure. I really do love the entire look of this helmet. It’s very vintage, minimalist, and just looks good on the head. The fit on this helmet is AMAZING. I highly suggest taking some measuring tape and measuring your head before purchasing this helmet online (or any, rather.) My head measured a little less than 68.5cm so I purchased the MEDIUM size. The helmet fit amazingly out of the box with minor adjustments to the straps, which I was thrilled about. I have also never had a helmet with a dial fit system and I really loved how this allowed me to get the helmet to fit even more snug than it already did. It really makes the helmet feel extra secure. I would also like to mention that if you read a lot of the older reviews it mentions that their Thousand helmets did not come with the dial in the back. This is because when the Thousand helmets were first put on Amazon, they were the older version and somewhere between 2019/2020 they switched them to the newer models. So some customers got the dials, and some didn’t. I believe they all should be updated to the newer version with dials at this point, but I could be wrong. The helmets apparently run large, so it’s recommended if you are on the in-between of sizes (For example if you’re exactly a 57cm size, get the Small instead of a medium.)Its breathability also really exceeded my expectations. When you look at the helmet in hand, you’ll immediately notice it doesn’t really have that many vents. 3 on top, and 4 in the back. However, you’d be surprised at how much air gets into this thing when you’re on the road. Because of the tilted brim of the helmet and also the shape the vents help air flow. A lot of people don’t actually know this about the Thousand helmets, but the padding inside the helmet is made from more breathable materials than other helmets, allowing air to pass through extremely easily as well. I have not found myself overheating or even sweating in this helmet at all quite yet. Although the colder season is approaching fast, I can tell I won’t have any issue wearing this helmet in the summer. The last thing that I wanted to touch on with this helmet is their customer service. I’ve never experienced such good customer service from a helmet manufacturer before and you can tell that Thousands really care about their customers. When I first placed my order on Monday night I emailed their team right away to see if they would help me facilitate an expedited shipping where I paid the shipping difference. They got back to me not even 2 hours later and set this up for me free of charge. I was really grateful for this as I was going out of town at the end of the week and needed it before then. Not only this, I think it’s important to note that they have a really amazing accident replacement policy where they will replace your damaged helmet should you get in a crash absolutely free. Thousand offers free replacement with a helmet from a collection of equal or lesser value of the original purchase. I think this is a super cool initiative and I have never really known a bike company to do this for their customers before. It shows that they really care about you.The one negative thing that I have to say about this helmet is that I was disappointed that the stealth black version does not include the vegan leather straps. I am sure Thousand could improve this design with black vegan leather straps instead of the ordinary nylon. Minor disappointment, but not enough for me to take a star off of the item for it. It shows in the item photos the nylon straps if you look closely and doesn’t include any word of the straps in the description photos like the other straps do. So that’s on me.After owning this helmet for a few weeks, my experience with their team, and their policies, it is clear that I will be a customer for Thousands for years to come.

Dope lid
So. Confession time. I always thought helmets looked dumb and so I never wore one growing up. Which is a dumb reason, yes, but it's facts. This lid looks clean with awesome shape and edges. It is all magnetized which I didn't know which makes it so much better! No more clipping my neck skin with the magnetic quick clip and even the lock hold is magnetized which is a wonderful touch.Pros: looks rad. Magnetized neck clip. Magnetized locking hole. Doesn't feel hot wearing it and is super breathable with though out air vents which I need because I am a big sissy when it comes to heat.Feels solid but luckily haven't used that feature yet. The back of head ratchet is no joke. Vegan leather is always a nice touch and gives it a retro look. People say the vegan leather bugs their skin but I won't ever know as I have a year round beard.Cons: my head is a little oblong so it's not an issue with the helmet so much as my oblong skull but it does feel like it is shaped more for proportioned width to length skulls. There is soft padding inside so it isn't a big deal and isn't uncomfortable to the point of concern. Hopefully the padding will mold to my head over time. The price is hefty. . . $99. To be honest, for the quality and attention to detail that would be worth it. . . We got ours for $79 on a sale so they do drop if you are willing to wait for a sale but honestly it checks all the boxes. So overall, I give it a 4.7 at $99 and a 4.95 at $79.If the price dropped to $69 I would give it a 5☆ haha but seriously. Very well dope. True craftspeople over at thousand.

Best bike helmet ever
I've never cared for the old pointy style bike helmets that may have a use in the Tour de France, but not in the tour de neighborhood. This helmet not only looks like it's suitable for scootering in the Bahamas but could serve in a pinch to ride to the hounds. It looks much more sophisticated, it fits extremely well, and protects the ol' noggin better. It comes in a choice of three sizes and then can be fine tuned via a ratchet wheel in the back like a hard hat. The padding seems up to the task to take a sizeable whack with no ill effects although I'd prefer not to test it. The slight bill gives a bit of sun shade, too. I also have to add that I ordered two of these; one for me and one for the wife. Mine arrived with a bit of a flaw in the stitching on the leather strap. When I notified the company and sent a photo, they instantly shipped me a replacement helmet free of charge, which I received in a matter of days. Outstanding customer service! I heartily recommend this company.

Nice helmet - Easy to Adjust - Locking Capability Almost Useless
I really like the look and feel of this helmet and how easy it is to adjust. I got it for e-scootering, and feel pretty safe but also stylish. I can get it to fit perfectly to my head with just a small adjustment to the knob in the back. Putting the straps on and taking them off with one hand due to their magnetic clasp is easy. The only thing that disappointed me was its “lockability” feature. The feature sounded cool but when you see the size of the hole in the helmet, basically no bike or scooter lock of any substantial security is likely to fit through that small hole. It’s not a huge problem since I just throw the helmet in my backpack anyway, but it’s an advertised feature that isn’t really useable. Otherwise great helmet and I see myself using it for a long time.

Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for a helmet that was more subtle and didn't scream hard-core bike enthusiast and this fits perfectly. I'm beyond happy with the fitment (I purchased the medium and it was a breeze to dial it in exactly). The box came with a nice white canvas carrying bag, an instruction card, a registration card for enrolling in their helmet protection program and that's about it- clean and simple. The fitment was really easy. I ordered the size medium and it fit perfectly using the dial in the back. The dial and it's mechanism is made out of plastic and the arms are rather thin which kinda worries me about longevity, but for right now they seem super secure, though time and usage will tell. The nylon straps ( what a missed opportunity to have had faux black leather) were also a breeze to dial in, and within a few minutes I was ready to go with a helmet that felt custom to my head.Taking it out for some rides, I definitely noticed that this helmet- while stylish as hell, does not really vent very much. If you plan on doing some serious riding, or ride in warmer temperatures 60 degrees and above (because that's how warm it was when i was testing it out) get a bikers cap or some other thing that can mop the sweat that'll come from using this helmet. It's best for more leisurely, cruising type rides, definitely not for mashing or putting any kind of speed on. Though I haven't taken a dive or been hit, I feel secure with this helmet on, and that's a comforting feeling. All in all, I would recommend this helmet, even though it isn't MIPS certified. Which is kind of a bummer, considering the price-point and the fact that MIPS certified Bell and Giro helmets are available for half the price. The looks/style and the custom fitment and the unique features such as the pop out lock holder are pretty cool and more than justify the price for me, though, though I understand that 80+dollars is an investment to the casual user. There's something to be said about maintaining an aesthetic, though, even when riding a bike. Hopefully this review helps.

Awesome!
This is an awesome helmet. Indeed it is a bit pricey, but totally worth the price tag.It is pretty lightweight but seems sturdy. It comes in a nice package, with inside the helmet in a nice small fabric bag, and with some replacing foam pad.It does look high quality, from the leather strap to the top material of the helmet and the helmet inside. The little hole that can be uncovered by popping the "thousand" logo on the side makes it handy to secure your helmet with your bike through a lock (I have a kriptonite Ulock and it can go through the hole without issue)There is enough aeration in the helmet to wear it without sweating like crazyThe strap can be adjusted from the bottom to fit you chin, but also from the back to fit the back of your neckI looked for a helmet that looks pretty nice for commuting in the city, and didn't want any pro-biking helmet. This one looks super nice and does not make me looks like Toad form Super Mario (which skateboard/rollerblade helmets kind of make me look)Overall, I am more than happy with this helmet!!

Awesome helmet
Growing up I never usually wore helmets when bike riding or skateboarding (yeah, yeah...young and dumb). Got this helmet since I started to ride more in an urban environment and needed some head protection. I originally ordered a Bern helmet on Amazon but was not happy about the fit or the look of it. Started doing a bit of research on youtube on what people were recommending. Thousand kept coming up in every accessory video I was watching. First I thought it was the video being a part of advertisement but noticed even small youtubers started talking about these helmets also. Decided to order one and see what the hype was about. Glad I did.Unboxing:The presentation of the helmet was well put together. A very unique feeling unboxing this than the Bern helmet I bought (and returned) before I bought this helmet. The helmet is in a nice bag after you see the little extras in the box (post card from Handsome Cycles along with a mission statement from them). Thought it was very cool and a different experience. Comes with more fit pads just in case you need more cushioning.Use:The magnetic buckle is very different and enjoy it a lot. It does not shift at all when I am currently riding. Haven't tried locking the helmet to my bike or electric skateboard yet but like that the option is there (and really convenient).
