NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER! The ninja were the true embodiment of budo, the warrior spirit. Rather than using techniques of assassination to protect themselves, ninja relied on their senses, and on an acute awareness of their natural surroundings, In fact, ninja avoided unnecessary conflict, and used weapons such as knives and swords only as a last resort. These are the true techniques of ninjutsu, and the art in which the ninja unrelentingly trained. In The Complete Ninja : The Secret World Revealed, Masaaki Hatsumi, the world’s most renowned ninja grandmaster and top budo master, creates a companion volume to his bestselling The Way of the Ninja. Like the earlier work, The Complete Ninja features hundreds of historical illustrations, documents, and photos (including many of the author demonstrating techniques) to explore the essence and wisdom of ninjutsu and reveal its hidden truths. The Complete Ninja will help readers sharpen their perceptions and deepen their understanding of two core principles: that ninjutsu is the very backbone of the martial arts, and that it clarifies their essential spiritual significance. Since budo transcends any one particular martial tradition, all practitioners, whether they study judo, aikido, karate, kendo, kenjutsu, jujutsu, or other combative sports, will find the book fascinating and enlightening. Review: My Grandmaster is the truth!!! - As a master level instructor under Dr. Hatsumi the book is phenomenal. It requires years of unpacking if you understand Review: Ninja Life/Ninja Emotions/Ninja Trails of Power. - Books by Hatsumi Sensei are replete with the abstract imaging and are profusely laced with the photographs which he has successfully used as an important teaching device. Although you may not be familiar with the Japanese language - sometimes a picture does "tell a story". As a practitioner of the Koryu and one of the most important gatherers of this knowledge in our era Hatsumi Sensei brings his immense experience and imagination to the table, and has never run out of stuff to share with his sometimes distant students.....but as a ninja, he is a very natural person who has a high appreciation for this very elusive art and shares many ninja techniques of survival and their basic modalities of thinking. We find out who the ninja really were and what was the stuff that made them effective on and off the battlefield. Hatsumi Sensei uses the words "ninja" and the "shinobi" interchangeably and has granted this title to some very important Japanese statesmen of the Meiji era. To conclude, although we may never be able to grasp the scope of Dr. Hatsumi's knowledge and of the skills that he has been a practitioner of in the past 50 or 60 years, it is good to be able to dive into this ever-elusive world of the shinobi and their enduring ways, and perhaps even discover this time-honored way within yourself as a source of inspiration and never-ending quest for reaching the sublime states of communication between the inner and the outer, and gracing this world by seeing only the beauty with your eyes.

The book keeps it's word
Am currently reading the English translation, translated by Doug Wilson, Bruce Appleby and Shawn Gray. I heard that this was in particular a difficult book to translate. Must say that I believe so after beginning my study of it and also I would like to say that the English title is totally spot on. Soke is even more detailed in this book and gives more directions to the puzzle if you have the skin to perceive. He is revealing a lot of good stuff for those with the eyes to see. I really recommend you to invest in this masterpiece. (Michael)

Buen libro
