Worth Every Penny!
Very high quality product. Strong zippers, strong material and a decent size. The picture does it no justice. Camelbaks are among the best back/hydration packs you can get. I bought my first Camelbak when I was in the Army so they are combat proven. My last Camelbak lasted me 14 years with almost daily use including military use and I've been sold on the brand ever since.. You can't go wrong with these. Prices may be higher than other brands but they are definitely worth the price.

Great bag!
The bag: It is a great bag, enough space to take with you whatever you want or to minimise it with the straps if you don't need so much to take with you. The waist belt is not removable, but stowable. Had to puzzle a bit to stow it away without resulting in pressure point on my back. Did not test it in warm environment yet. The back of the bag is shaped and will distribute the weight on your lumbar/hips, feels quite comfortable! I've used the bag for a month now.

Camelbak Quality
I have several Camelbak military bags and they all are top notch in terms of quality and the Skirmish is no exception. My only complaints about the Skirmish is this is a pretty heavy bag for it's size. It has a pretty substantial frame sheet and aluminum stays, which are beneficial for shifting/equalizing the load to the hip belt, but this unpadded hip belt is wholly inadequate of handling this bag when full. Wish camelbak would have used they same hip belt they used their trizip. I might try to remove the frame sheet and stays to see If I can lighten it up some.

Chest and Kidney starps!
I bought this pack for an upcoming trip with my brothers, and I expect it will meet or exceed the high expectations CamelBack has earned from me. So, the trip never happened. However, it has none less, proved to be a valuable tool for me. First off, consider this as a 3.5 rating for the product itself. My brother was a Marine NCO, and a friend of mine was an NCO in the Army, both men said good things about CamelBack, and both men saw action in Iraq. (Both were "POGs"s, so is "action" the right word? I'm kidding!) Now, I looked at this pack a while back, while working for a contractor of a significant comms company; unfortunately, this particular model did not come in black or grey, suitable colors for a white-collar "pencil pusher." However, as a Mountain Biker, I need something that can take punishment, and the majority of CamelBack products I have used through the years, have been great at that! Btw, it's on the big side for MTB, great for traveling by dirt bike though. If you are like me and had your pack hit the back of your brain bucket because of a sudden stop on your MTB, you will appreciate that this pack has kidney straps (I wish they were as thick as an ACU belt, however.) Also, the female buckles seem thinner than what I am used to from CamelBack. For those of you working for the DoD or companies that do work for/with them, directly or indirectly, Raytheon, IES, and the like CamelBack is a GSA contract holder. I expect in a month or two, to alter the one-star rating to one of five stars! Update: In less than a year, the bladder has a slight micro leak, and fabric wore out on a corner, so the plastic support plate shows throw. The Skirmish is resistant to light rain, except no rain flys mean even light rain enters the pack. It is, however, an excellent pack for school. My 15inch Samsung notebook, accessories, notebooks (paper), and a rain jacket all fit inside nicely, with room for lunch! By the way, extra pouches can be added.

Lowering standards
The top carry/drag handle is one piece of 1 inch webbing that’s it ! most smaller camelbaks have a stout drag handle on top this one doesn’t odd .The pack is nice it’s made in Mexico not China wouldn’t be surprised if the materials were shipped from China to Mexico If this company added as many features as it has on its larger packs Maybe ok ? I’ve been buying their products the quality is droppping fast maybe they are going that made in or Chinese Materials route because II stoped buying these packs . Quality is not as good as it was 15 years ago for sure . The four little attachment points on the bottom for sleeping mats and or bags is ridiculous The stitching on this bag is horrible get a spec ops EDC or specops UAP it’s 10 times more durable I owned / own several Camelbaks and am done and I’m Not buying anymore .
