Perfect surf rod for the money
Love the rod. Used surf fishing in Hatteras in May. Paired with a Penn battle. No issues whatsoever. May grab another for next year. Tip not too soft like some lesser rods.

Order straight from Penn website!!
I have used Penn rods and reels all my life I am 47, specifically for surf, ocean and back bays. I can't believe this rod broke the third time using it. Setting the hook on a small bluefish. The graphite splintered just under the male incert as this is a 2 piece rod. I'm kinda disappointed. The Amazon return only lasted one month. Penn offers a one year warranty, I will have to take up with Penn. I strongly suggest all you fishermen ordered directly from Penn and wait the extra couple days.

Shipped in cheap bag
Great rod shipped in only a plastic bag is my only complaint

Rods….awesome. Packaging? Not so much.
These are legit surf rods. I’m an inshore fisherman so they immediately felt too long and too stiff. But putting a 3oz weight on them made me feel more comfortable. Now packaging. They arrived in plastic bags and the bags had fallen down exposing half of the rods. The eyes and handle were fine, but had minor scratches. I would have paid extra to have them arrive in tubes.

Needs better packaging
Worst packaging ever! Surf rod came in a plastic sleeve. No protection over guides! Luckily the rod looks to be OK. But we will have to see when a catch a fish and have the road under load.

Broken
I really dont know how to start this. I haven't even used the once. Yesterday I was gonna a put a reel on it and the darn this is broken. Im gonna try to reach out for a refund. Didnt think I have this problem with a company as Penn. Fingers crossed.

Horrible packaging
Love the actual pole, but ships in a plastic bag, I have bought 3 in the last month and had to return 2 for damage. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t send them in a tube or even card board to protect them
