I initially researched the Carlson’s 12-gauge rifled choke by watching several YouTube demonstrations that showcased measurable accuracy improvements when using rifled slugs. Those videos provided a useful baseline and set realistic expectations for performance. After testing it myself, the results closely aligned with what was shown in those demonstrations. Compared to a standard cylinder or improved cylinder choke, the rifled choke produced tighter and more consistent groups, particularly at typical shotgun slug distances. The improvement was noticeable enough to justify the upgrade, especially for confirming zero or engaging targets beyond close range. This fit my Tokarev Bullpup perfectly. It looks fantastic on it and it has really tightened up my groupings out to 50 yards. I don’t shoot too far past 50 yards on this Bullpup. Waaaaaaaay too much bullet drop after 50 yards. Plus it adds a little length to it which also looks good. Very easy to put on and take off. This was a great investment and can be used on so many different shotgun models that it is entirely worth $64. Performance is great. Very pleased all around

I built a 'fun gun' for my son...a BAT-12L Lever 12 gauge. Very neat toy! I wanted this to be a slug gun, so I tried the Carlson's rifled choke. I took it out to the range and stapled a target at 50 yards. Using Winchester Defender 1 ounce 2 3/4 Foster-type slugs delivering 1600 fps at the muzzle, I started my sight-in. It took 5 shots before I put two thru the same hole. I have it 1 inch high at 50 yards so he can take a 100 yard shot and still be within "minute of deer". I don't know if it's the ammo or the choke, or a combination of both, but this 6+1 lever-action cheapie shotgun will run side by side with my Remington 870 Magnum Special Purpose fully rifled slug gun. And it does that at about a third of the price, fully dressed out.

This did tighten up foster slug groups. Tried 3 different factory fosters with all holes touching at 50 yards. Tried 4 or 5 different sabot varieties though and none of them would stabilize.

Some things just ooze quality.

Fits perfectly in my benelli, put it in and works great with every shell I put through it
