GateMate Pro Compact

Thule is one of the best in the business for transporting bikes, and this product did not disappoint. I bought this for my 2018 Honda Ridgeline which has a pretty small tailgate to attach it to. It does (barely) fit, you just have to be patient and get it just right. Like many of the reviews, the Velcro straps provided to attach the bike to the carrier and not very useful. You can however use whatever strap you would like to replace the Velcro if you choose. I really like the storage areas on the inside of the pad. Very useful for bug spray, extra straps, locks, gear, etc. There is no lock with this system. I use a bike lock to lock the bike to the tie-down brackets in the bed of the truck. Overall, it's a high quality product that you would expect from Thule and I recommend it.

Works like it should. Easy to install or remove. The straps are a little long but just cross cross them a bit to overlap rather connecting them straight onwards. Can be used for road bikes too!

I've hauled all my mountain bikes using this tailgate pad. I'm going to sell my bike rack now. I use a couple ratchet straps as well as the integrated Velcro and my bikes don't move a millimeter. Great way to haul bikes for long road trips.

Works as advertised. Pad is made of excellent quality materials. I use it in a GMC Canyon to haul an Ebike and my road bike. I am able to instal the pad in a few minutes. This provides a much better method of hauling my bikes. As others have noted. the velcro straps are plenty long and I have to wrap it 1 1/2 times around the tube of the road bike. Not a big deal to me. But it could be shortened by cutting down the length.

Love this to transport bikes. A bit of pain to put on and take off. Have to remove it every time we wash our truck. But it does keep the bikes in place which is what is most important.

Fits perfect on the Colorado 2023. Bit different fit than pics but gets the job done. Happy with the purchase

This product isn’t really made for security. But I locked my bikes together and then to eyelet on side of truck. Carrier works great, as we drove all the way around Lake Michigan with a street and mountain bike on the rack, on my Ridgeline truck bed.

Great rugged product with many tie downs for multiple bikes. Really well thought out product. Price point is worth it to save the finish on the tailgate!

Very good quality but be careful with the width - difficult to fit in certain trucks such as the Honda Ridgeline. Very good manufacturing though.
