Rice Select Risotto, 2.59 Pound

Excellent rice. I cooked 1 cup of rice with some mushrooms and onions in my Instapot with 4 cups of broth and it was delicious and creamy in 20 minutes.

Here you have two pounds of real Arborio rice for risotto, just like the kind you can buy at the market, and they'll deliver it to your door. The price is cheaper than what you'll find at Walmart.

I had never tried Arborio rice & was curious. Amazon had a manageable-sized jar at a good price, so I took a chance. It cooks really well, in an instant-pot. I use 2 cups of water or broth to 1 cup of rice. Pressure-cook for 5 minutes and then let it decompress naturally for another 5 minutes. I have tried it with pesto sauce on one occasion. Another time, I made it what chorizo sausage and garbanzo beans. Both times, it came out delicious. If you’ve never used it before, you should be aware that this is a short-grain rice that will be kind of sticky. It takes sauces & other flavors really well. I will definitely buy this again.

I make Risotto in my Instant Pot using this Arborio Rice. The local Safeway typically runs out of this in their stock and I have found it easier for me to order it on Amazon and have it delivered to my door instead of routinely drive to the grocery and become disappointed. As far as the taste of this is concerned I feel that it is okay. The price is reasonable, and it just so happens to be versatile enough for what I need it for, which is to work in the Pressure Luck recipes I use for the Instant Pot. The dish I am literally making right now (during the submission of this review) is the Pressure Luck Mushroom Risotto recipe, which exclusively calls for Arborio Rice. I have yet to experience any bugs in this rice, like some other brands that I have tried before had little red bugs in it. Not this brand so far (knock on wood). In conclusion, this Arborio rice works for what I need it for in the Instant Pot, and makes for creamy and tasty Risotto.

Price is a bit high. But live it
