How often do you have to change the filters?

About every year depending on amount of usage

Can you buy replacement hoses? Mine burst after about a year of regular use... it's the main hose that connects to the sink...

How do you know when it's time to change the filters? Is there a visual indicator that it's past its prime?

There is no visual indicator on the unit itself. I just use an inexpensive TDS meter and measure the water purity. I just changed the filters after almost 2 years and the membrane doesn't have to be changed for 5 years. Changing the filters is super easy...only took me 5-10 minutes.

I assume this filter set will not remove waterborne pathogens? Product rep answers only, please.
