Great non-dairy creamer! I’m pleasantly surprised that the taste is so similar to dairy half and half. The price is a bit more but at 10 calories in 2 TBS and healthier it’s worth it.

If you're looking for a dairy-free creamer that isn't loaded with sugar, flavors, or weird additives--this is the one! The consistency is great, and there isn't a strong flavor. It won't throw off the taste of your coffee. It's not quite as thick as typical half and half, but it is thicker than plain almond or coconut milk. Absolutely love this creamer, it's my go to at this point.

I'm afraid to order this again even though I love the product. They keep shipping the wrong items and now will not replace the wrong item...3 times wrong item received! This has been brought to customer service attention and now it's silence and NO REPLACEMENT RECEIVED!

Edit - 1 year after leaving the following review I want to report that Califia has apparently fixed the gloopy, latex paint-like formulation, and reintroduced the prior water-like formulation. I am on the 4th quart of my continuous subscription 6-pack, and all 4 have been great. Without knowing for sure, they simply cut way down on the 'gum' ingredients. I only went to 4 stars because to be clear, the new formulation seems to be even thinner than the original (Tan cartons). It still tastes great, but it does pour like water now. Thank you Califia! Previous post for history sake: I have been using the 'tan' version for several years now and loved it (I get 6-packs from Amazon) - even with the sub-optimal initial opening mechanism. The new version is basically too disgusting to use. In my opinion it reminds me of pouring extra thick, latex paint into a roller tray. My daughter saw it yesterday and she says it reminds her of a baby's regurgitated milk. Either way, it is basically too thick to 'use', as I pour it onto my daily oatmeal. It is simply too 'un-natural' in its new texture/thickness. It literally sits on top of the oatmeal, like a thick, white oil spill, until I mix it into the cereal, at which point it 'disappears'. The taste is fine, but I will probably have to look around for an alternative, which is shame, because I went thru this process several years ago and this was the best option! Does the product manager at Califia realize how much they changed the product? Carton color and opening mechanism is one thing, but why change such a simple product, which was already great, into something so visually un-appealing?

Product was very grainy. Like powdered milk that wouldn't mix. I have never had this happen before. I used to buy it locally in the dairy case and the store quit carrying it. I have been ordering shelf stable creamer from Amazon and so far it was great. All of the cartons in the box were like this. When I poured it down the sink, the creamer left a grainy film on my sink. UPDATE: Amazon sent out a new box at no cost and it was perfect!

I recently purchased the Califia Farms Unsweetened Better Half, Half And Half Substitute, and this was my very first time trying it. As someone looking for a plant-based alternative to traditional half-and-half, I had hopes for a creamy and satisfying addition to my coffee. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the taste and texture. For me, it tasted much more like watery almond milk rather than a true half-and-half substitute. It lacked the richness and creaminess I associate with half-and-half, and it didn't provide the body I was looking for in my beverages. While the product is marketed as a "Better Half" and includes almond milk and coconut cream, the overall experience didn't live up to my expectations for a coffee creamer that could mimic the consistency and flavor of dairy half-and-half. If you're looking for a genuinely creamy and rich plant-based half-and-half alternative, this might not be the right fit, especially if you're expecting something similar to dairy.

I overall like Califia products, but was looking for a lower calorie option so I thought I would try the creamer. The calories are fantastic and it does whiten the coffee, and adds a bit of a coconut undertone, not unpleasant. I expect a non-dairy creamer to do the same as a dairy one, which also adds depth and smoothness to the flavor, which this does not. If you just want white coffee, this is fantastic, but if you want a hardier product that is like a real whitener, I do not recommend.

I like the product. If you shake it vigorously, just before pouring, it's creamier with a mild coconut flavor. I use it in coffee, tea, on cereal, anyplace I'd use dairy half and half... With good results. The last box, I buy it in the box of six, one quart cartons. The outer box was wet and taped together. Never a good sign! Upon opening the outer box, which was difficult, do to all the tape, I found one of the quart cartons crunched in at the top and taped. It was shipped crunched, leaking and taped! This is supposed to be refrigerated after opening, even when the opening is an accident such as being dropped, not taped and shipped to a customer! It wasn't damage caused during transit, as the wet box was in a really big box with lots of other things. And this big box was sent via USPS! To the post office? Doesn't make sense to me... There have been several boxes sent via USPS, lately that didn't make sense to me. Big boxes... Glad the person who gets my mail for me is strong! Back to the review... I really like the Califia better half/half and half... Absolutely nothing against the product! The person who taped a damaged and leaking quart carton, then shipped it, well... Grrrrr!
