Flavor-filled Spice!
It's definitely flaked red pepper. The heat is a degree beyond Black pepper and several steps beneath Habanero. The flavor comes through, though. It isn't just heat.

If you need crushed red pepper I highly recommend buying this on Amazon. It's cheaper than buying at your local grocery store and you will get a lot.

It arrived on time and in good condition. It is very flavorful. Certainly a win in my book.

Could be a little spicier
I am pleased with the flavor and value of this large McCormick organic crushed red pepper. I would prefer if it were a little spicier. It doesn't taste very hot to me at all, however I do have quite a high spice tolerance. The only thing that I really don't like about this product is that some of the pieces of red pepper flakes look more like stem pieces then ground red chili peppers. Often times I am using these flakes as a finisher and I don't want my guests to think I am serving them stems! It's possible the product could be sifted or filtered better for a more uniform quality. Otherwise, good product.
