how does this motor handle continuous starts and stops (intermittent use)?

Works well. Mine is a furnace blower motor, starts and stops all winter long.

Sure. You just need a cord with a three prong plug on one end. Then you can connect the three wires on the other end into the motor.

Where would I be able to get replacement parts for this motor? I am looking for the terminal board cover plate.

I would just Google "AOSmith motor repair parts" to find a source of the part you need. Also if you have a local electric motor repair shop they may be able to help. The terminal board cover plate may be common to several brands and models.

Is this motor reversible? I need it counterclockwise

Are you sure it is clockwise? The one I got was ccw. Turn the motor with the shaft away from you and check the rotation direction. Most motors are reversible by interchanging the internal lead wires on the terminals (not the wires you attach).
