Norpro Dishwasher Safe Glass Baster, 2 oz

I finally got tired of plastic basters melting or cracking, so I switched to this Norpro glass one. The heat-resistant glass is thick and sturdy, which makes it much safer to use with boiling pan drippings straight out of the oven. It feels high-quality and way more professional than the cheap nylon versions I’ve used before. The suction on the bulb is excellent. It picks up a full 2 ounces without any leaking or dripping, so it actually gets the liquid onto the meat rather than all over the stovetop. I also love that the glass doesn't stain or hold onto smells from heavy marinades or garlic. Cleanup is the best part since it’s truly dishwasher safe. I just pop the bulb off and put the glass tube in the top rack, and it comes out perfectly clear every time. If you want a kitchen tool that won't warp and is easy to keep clean, this is a great choice. It’s a simple, effective upgrade for any home cook.

We love this. We use it a lot for grease removal while cooking ground beef. Other ones would melt from the heat but this is perfect. Easy to clean too.

Good item. My only criticism is it’s very thin glass. It won’t take much to break.

I bought this to tranfer fuel and other mechanical fluids. Great product. Works as it should with great suction.

Fast delivery, quality product

As a nail tech, i bought this to transfer monomer from jug to jug, works great!

I purchased two of these right before Thanksgiving so that if one broke, I'd have a back up. I ended up just double fisting that mo-fo turkey so it reduced time out of the oven. Worked well, no complaints there. I love that the baster tube is glass. I didn't have significant problems with broth dripping out as mentioned in other reviews, but a little more than a little did drip out, but that happens with the other basters I've had. The only thing I don't like is that the rubber bulb stinks, literally and figuratively. The rubber is off-gassing something fierce and makes me leery of using it with food. It doesn't quite have the suction power as the old Oxo did and seems too small for the length and diameter of the tube, which may seem why it leeks for others. That said, I did buy two, I would buy them again but may look into Frankensteining the tube together with a bulb from a different baster. This would easily be a 5 star item if the bulb were larger and silicone. Happy roasting/meth cooking, or whatever the hell it is you folks that buy this with naphthalene and sodium hydroxide are making. Seriously, don't buy shit for making illegal stuff on Amazon unless you really enjoy jail. I suppose if you're using this baster for making drugs, this is easily a 4 star baster.
