Very good
I used to live in walking boots, so I am fairly sure I know what I want. I'd recently been let down on quality from my usual go-to brand, so did a load of research and ended up with these. I've now taken them for a decent hike as well as walking into town, walking the dog, that kind of thing. First, they are easy to get on and off. This might sound strange, but some boots you have to almost unlace completely before you can get them on or off. Second, they are clunky and robust, but I can drive in them. So, not so clunky that you totally lose the use of your feet. Third, they fit as expected. I am usually a 44/45, 45 for Timberland shoes. I ordered a 45 (10.5 in UK money) and they fit very well with a moderately thick sock. Forth, I have wide feet and these are comfortable in that regard. Overall, they are comfortable, and I am very pleased with this purchase. I have not tested for waterproofness, I just pop a load of boot sealant on these as a matter of course and so far the rain has not penetrated.

Really good boots - weird sizing
The boots are fantastic but I had to return the ones I ordered because the size 10 I ordered was too small for me. Got 10.5 instead and it was fine.I'm actually a 9.5 but for some things I order a 10 so it is weird to have that be too small still.

Very poor soles
The soles on these boots wore out around about 5 months. Sent them away to be re-soled by an independent company (cost approximately £100). Got them back and once again the new soles have worn out and both boots leaking like sieves. It has to be said that the boots are otherwise of a good quality and were water proof until the soles wore out on both occasions. I walk about 6/7 miles a day on average across all types of terrain but that should be irrelevant when you have spent £140+ on what is described as a hiking boot! Overall very disappointed. I would never buy this brand again. So, if the soles are a known problem then Lowa need to fix the problem or many, like me, will vote with their feet!

Started to split after 6 months
The boots started off great, then started to split near the toe. I check Amazon and found a picture of exactly the same problem. Clearly a manufacturing problem. A real disappointment for such compfortable boots. Received a full refund good supplier, poor manufacturer.
