"burlap" is not a good way to descibe this, more like a men's suit.
I got the taupe and it is not a yellow taupe but a true taupe, IMO. To me, burlap suggests random nubs of imperfections and maybe a looser weave. There is nothing about this that looks rustic. Looks more like a linen. I am going to reupholster a 50's channel backed chair, I would prefer velvet but you never know what kind of velvet you are buying without a very heavy price tag. There is no "rub test" for this, but it is just heavy enough for a chair that won't be used that much. I would use it on a chair seat since those are easy to change out, should it pill. It will be fine for that chair.I am mostly guessing but since it is polyester, it won't stain easy and is probably easy to wipe clean. They sent this to me folded over many times, but it did not crease at all. This would make great drapery, it will let some light in, but also still have almost complete privacy. Since it is polyester, I doubt that is will fade easily, if at all. It looks like linen with lots of texture, but would wash well, and with drapery, you should always hang them damp so they don't have any wrinkles and they hang properly. The close up pic is also magnified, so it doesn't look like that. It could pass for linen, but not "burlap".It looks like something they would make a man's suit from.At first I was disappointed that is didn't look rustic, but it will work well for another use.So far, I would give it 5 stars. For about 7 1/2' drapes, you would need about 5 yards per window, but they would be really full drapes, but not quite full enough for sliding glass doors. The ideal width of drapery is 2 1/2 times the width of the opening. Most people would also add another foot to each side of the door to make it seem bigger and hang it as close to the ceiling as possible, for the same reason. So for a huge drape for a sliding glass door (9' X 20') would be less than $150. And would look top shelf, and sized properly.Somebody complained that there was a blood stain in the middle of their fabric, but that would be so easy to remove. That is not the most valid complaint I have heard.

Great for Acoustic Panels
I made 4 acoustic panels and this fabric worked great. The fabric definitely fits the needs of acoustic fabric. It's polyester, it doesn't stretch very much, it's very breathable, but tightly woven just enough so you can't see through it. I think it's a good alternative to the more expensive Guilford of Maine stuff. I didn't have any issues wrapping my frame and stapling it.I just used cheap landscape fabric to finish the backside. My frame is 1x4" lumber. 48"x16" frames (outside measurements). Rockwool Safe and Sound from home Depot. My store only sells the 16" version, but if you can find the 24" version, it's a more efficient use of lumber.

Love this fabric
I bought two yards to make roman shades for two doors. Looks great (love the color and texture), easy to work with, and looks like it will be a durable fabric for my purposes. Would definitely buy again!

Color varies from one batch to another.
I purchased this product on three different occasions and will purchase it again. I'm happy with the quality and I used it to cover acoustic panels. I threaded through the raw cut edges and the material held up well without coming apart under stretching stress.I returned one of the orders and was promptly refunded.Be aware that the color may vary significantly from one silver to another; order enough material in one order to complete your project. That way it should all come from the same dye batch. The charcoal I only ordered once, and I was satisfied with the color.

Great for Acoustic Fabric
Not as transparent as Guillford Main stuff, but actually pretty close. Looks great, reasonably durable, and doesn't stretch too much. MUCH better pricing. =)

Orange is not shade pictured - it is brighter
Pretty sheer and sleek and "pretty" in that way. It is polyester and with that comes the benefit of it not fraying as easily but it does lose physical texture in that. Still, it is not a bad fabric. I'm just disappointed that the picture of the orange color looks more like a deeper, richer burnt orange and what I received is a much brighter, pumpkin orange. If you are expecting orange-orange and not what is pictured (which is like four shades darker and appears richer in the image) then you're set. But I am debating returning it. I did end up ordering a different color because this shade just does not fit well with the mood I'm trying to achieve with my art project. I may or may not keep it for something else I might think to use it for in the future... but I can't think of what it would be good for right now. It seems like it might be good for something costumey or perhaps Fall festive, if you want the more bright orange to compliment whatever you're working with.

This product is not charcoal gray
Do not buy this product. If you want charcoal gray this is not charcoal gray. This is a light sky Gray. Amazon will not accept the return at Whole Foods. You will have to print a label out and drive wherever it is the nearest UPS store is located and wait for the merchant to receive the product before a refund and then decide to issue a refund. Mind you it is not the color that they are advertising it is a very light light colored Gray.
