does anyone still have the instructions for syncing it to a tv? I can't find the paperwork. please help!

No problem. Try this if you want. I scanned the two page doc into a pdf and put it on a file sharing site. I have not used this site before and it looks like some ads come up when you go to the link I am giving you. Does the input/av button allow you to switch to a dvd player?

i do not use it for a dvd player. the a-tv10 is a nice cheap remote. as with all electronic devices it has some minor faults that do not disqualify it from being useful. the directions are not very well written, however it did not take long to figure the right way to make it work.

For those brilliant people who have successfully programmed the learning function, could you provide a step by step?

The instructions are strange, but I got it to work!  1) Press and hold the Set and Vol+ buttons until the light becomes lit on your new remote. (about 5 seconds)  2) Then press and hold the button on the OLD remote that you want to program (in my case, it was the Input button).  If the light on your new remote does NOT start blinking, then the new remote did not detect the signal.  I had to point my old remote at various angles and continue to press+hold my AV button until it the new remote's light started blinking. This was the tricky part, because the user guide's illustration was not actually at an angle that the new remote needed to register the command.3) After the light starts to blink, hold down the key on the new remote that you want for about a second.  After the light becomes solid again, you can let go of the buttons on the old and new remotes.4) Press and hold down the Mute and Vol- button on the new remote until the light goes off. This is about a second.  When the light is out, it should be good to go!!!
