Excellent Introduction
Excellent introduction to the Japanese idea of wabi sabi. It is a difficult topic to pin down exactly, and Kempton does a fine job of offering a new take on the idea. Modern readers will be best served by wabi sabi insofar that US society, in particular, is driven to a point of breaking. Slowing down, enjoying imperfection, realizing change is important can all help one appreciate the ideas Kempton presents.

Beautiful book
I love Bethโs work, and this book was beautiful. It was rich in story while being a tour of the culture, history, and philosophy of Japan, and it remained accessible and enjoyable to read. I love the idea of Wabi Sabi and all the ways we can bring it into our lives.
