Rubie's Costume Star Trek Gold Star Fleet Uniform Shirt Costume

The shirt is a great representation of Captain Kirk's shirt from the most recent Star Trek movie. I am a fan of the original series but I think that this shirt is a lot more stylish. The shirt has a pattern that repeats the star fleet logo continuously. The shirt is made of polyester which makes it a lot thinner and shinier than the original. I greatly enjoyed the shirt. The only problem I believe there is, is that the sleeves seem to be larger than intended for the size. I wear large shirts and so I ordered a large. The shirt fit nicely but the sleeves were very loose. I don't know if this is also the same for the other sizes or not, but it is just nitpicking. It is a great shirt and my favorite version of the star trek universe.

It's not a terrible shirt, but it has several negatives that force me to remove stars. The sleeves and tail are really long compared to the chest area -- for it to fit in the chest, everything else is too big. The black collar was sewn very poorly -- it's not even symmetrical! As others mentioned, the stripes on the sleeves don't match up across the seam, and the screen printing leaves something to be desired on both the stripes and the emblem on the chest. Thankfully, my wife can sew, so we're going to be able to fix it up in time for me to wear it. If you choose to buy this shirt, think of it as an easy way to get the patterned cloth you need to make your own -- you're essentially going to have to do that anyway on the stupid thing.

This tunic is about as cheap as you can get. The black neckline is sewn into the garment. The garment proportions are as generic as possible. The fabric is too shiny. The rank embroidery on the cuffs is really shoddy. However, when you're walking down the street, and women recognize that you're in a Star Trek outfit, and they invite you into their bar for a drink, and all of a sudden they're bathed in soft light and fuzzy focus, you realize this costume was a good purchase. Order a XL was way too big so I had to re-order and ordered a medium fit. Perfect. My normal size is XL.

I was a little leary about ordering this due to some of the reviews, but since the price dropped, I decided I could take the chance. Now, this review is from a female fan's perspective; I am actually satisfied with my product. I am reviewing my particular shirt, not every single one out there and do realize there can be some flukes out there. The pros: the pattern on the shirt looks great and the material is strong and thick, very durable unlike half the costumes I've seen in other stores. The color is accurate and although the pin detail leaves more to be desired, the sleeve stripes look top-notch. The collar is indeed v-shaped and stitched tightly and suitably in place without any flaws. Putting it on, I found it comfortable and actually flattering on me despite it being a man's shirt. The shirt was a tad big but not in any way that would detract from its appeal. The cons: they aren't huge problems to me considering I have both a mother and sister who sew; the body of the shirt is a tad long on me as well as the sleeves. Again, these aren't real issues to me since they can be fixed very easily. With that in mind, I feel the money I paid is worth it for the product I received: a brand-new, high-quality costume shirt. In the end, I am very happy with my purchase and I am considering buying the other colors Rubie's has to offer.

I should have looked at the review pictures before ordering, but I didn't. I looked at the product's pictures only. Looking at the product's pictures, and seeing the price was pretty high for a shirt, I expected nicer material. The shirt I got is very cheap thin polyester that is white on the inside and the gold is printed on. The black part around the color is translucent because it's so thin. The emblem and rings at the sleeves feels like HTV (vinyl). Maybe the price is so high because the tag reads "Star Trek", but who knows. It is Halloween costume quality, like what you would find at those Halloween pop-up stores that happen in October that are just a money grab. I was pretty disappointed.

Runs true to size, Reviews had mix comments about running too small or too big. I am a Size Large, but ordered an XL. Its way too big, I was afraid of it running small. Basically, get your actual size for the best fit. Nice light material and detail print like the new movies. The Logo on the chest is printed, but in photos it looks raised. Sleeves are a tad wide, but not a big deal to me.

The material is simple, heavy-enough polyester with the Star Trek arrowhead logo pattern printed onto the cloth. The actual badge is silkscreened onto the cloth, rather than embroidered as described. The bands at the cuffs are also screenprinted. The collar of the gold shirt is basically unfinished -- it is merely sewn to the black "dickey" which is of very thin, cheap, shapeless polyester. The fit as Men's Large is good. Wallymart would call it medium. Sleeve length good (for 6'1", 175lb). So ... it works as a cheap, wear-it-once Hallowe'en costume. But if you're looking for a truly "deluxe" item that at least presents as a real everyday shirt (let alone a realistic representation of the actual uniforms worn in the movie!!), then this is NOT it. It's more money than I want to pay for this quality though not entirely unreasonable if you are expecting a play-time/dress-up outfit. But I would rather pay more for something better. Most disappointing was the inaccurate description in the listing.

Tutto sommato non è male per fare carnevale: il tessuto è maglina sintetica, il disegno texture sulla base va bene mentre ovviamente il logo sulla parte sinistra del petto è stampata. Quindi gli do punteggio pieno. Ma attenzione: ho preso una L (44-46) ma corrisponde ad almeno una XL !!! Son costretto a fare il reso!

Lo recibí en el plazo indicado. Normalmente suelo tirar el embalaje de los productos que pido, pero en este caso viene con una bolsa de plástico con botones y un cartón con la imagen oficial de STAR TREK que se puede utilizar para guardarlo. El color mostaza como el que sale en la película y la serie orignal La tela es cómoda, me recuerda una camisa de portero de fútbol que tuve. La talla XL es grande. pero con una camiseta de algodón debajo queda ajustada y abrigada para salir en la fría noche de Carnaval. Ideal para carnavales, convenciones y fiestas trekkies. (De pijama o para estar por casa también se puede utilizar)

Habe lange, wegen der anderen vernichtenden Kritik nicht bestellt. Der andere Kritiker muss Montagsmodell erwischt haben. "Mein" Kostüm ist groß und vernünftig genäht, keine Schäden oder Längenunterschiede. Das Material ist dicker und das Logo und die Streifen aufgedruckt. Ich hatte mich auf lästige Näharbeiten oder Ausbesserungen eingestellt. Das Kostüm kann aber ohne weitere Intervention sofort von unserem Star Trek verrückten Sohn getragen werden. Kann ich weiterempfehlen. M.E. müssen hier zwei unterschiedliche Kostüme geschickt worden sein. Ich kann die Kritik in keinem Punkt nachvollziehen. Vielleicht hat Rubie die Qualität überarbeitet. Wie auch immer ein Kostüm für Trekkies.

Bought for fancy dress for my boyfriend. Was the right fit, well made and looked the part. The material is not very breathable, which is the only drawback of using it for a fancy dress party!

Viel zu dünn und von der Grösse passt es auch nicht. Ausserdem ist es viel zu teuer.
