CURT 13323 Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2" Receiver for Toyota Tacoma

Installed on a 2011 Toyota Tacoma and it fit perfectly. Hoping it lasts like all other Curt Hitches I have. There was a hitch from U-Haul on it before lasted about 6 years and it rusted completely. So hopefully this one last longer. Time will tell but it appears to be well made.They do send new Bolts with the hitch.

tl;dr I purchased this for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4 door pickup. It was shipped securely, installed by a novice in 60 minutes and was successfully towing a utility trailer the next day. The box had 2 corners partially crushed but was not of great concern to me as the shape of the product does not lend itself to easily holding up all corners of a cube. The entire unit was wrapped in thick bubble wrap (probably 3-4 layers) and necessary hardware was safely taped inside the wrapping). Despite the box damage, the receiver was in perfect condition. This was the first modification I've made to this truck (and the first in over a decade when I did some stereo install) so I am every bit a novice. The instructions were flawless and the entire process from unboxing to cleanup was completed in 60 minutes. On my truck there are 5 bolts on each side which may come into play with the installation (they hold the bumper assembly to the frame. This is a pretty basic, 3-step process. 1. Remove 2 bolts & loosen 2 others on the bumper assembly (note, this will cause the bumper to sag a bit, I held it up with some basic jack stands though I don't feel any extra support was necessary). 2. Insert the receiver into the slot created when removing the 2 bolts and reattach the bolts (not tightening fully yet) 3. Remove the 2 remaining bolts, insert the spacers (used to keep the bumper assembly an even width apart from the frame, since you just added some extra width with the receiver) and reattach the bolts. It is recommended to do the final tightening with a torque wrench. I did not have one but the auto parts store closest to my house let me use one in their parking lot for free. I was a bit hesitant to purchase as several of the reviewers mentioned having to force the receiver into place with a hammer. This was perfectly sized for my truck and did not require even the slightest push; with the bolts loosened it slid right in. As a result, I would not hesitate to recommend this receiver to anyone!

Works great for bike rack, would definitely work for towing. Make sure to torque everything down appropriately. Appreciated the wire tool for pulling bolts through the frame to the appropriate anchor points made it easier to get the job done. Make sure to check torquing after first use to ensure everything is dialed in appropriately and hasn't come loose. I did have to use a deadblow to flex a wing out to fit around the frame, may have been dinged in shipping but withstood the test of time. Still need to run electrical to actually tow.

This hitch fit my 2013 Tacoma perfectly. It was somewhat awkward installing it by myself but a floor Jack was the answer. I put a good coat of wax on it prior to installing, so it will hold up to the weather and road conditions. All hardware was perfectly sized and instructions were complete and precise. It is tucked up nicely under the bumper. It is made of heavy gauge steel and came with a nice coat of paint. This is a high quality hitch manufactured by a well known manufacturer. Worth every penny.

Their installation video states the rear bumper doors not need to be removed to install the receiver hitch. That should be true in theory. I installed this hitch by myself by strapping it to a floor jack with ratchet straps. I then wheeled it directly beneath where it was to be installed and began raising the jack, but it would not fit. I wrestled it for about an hour and became frustrated and was ready to return it. After calming my temper, I thought I should remove the bumper first since half of the bolts were already removed and that made things so much easier. The hitch raised onto the frame beautifully, but needed to be pushed in about an inch, which was accomplished with a mon-marring plastic sledge. Apparently, the frame slightly tapers inward towards the bumper, and is a snug fit at its final mounting location - that's why I couldn't get it onto the frame with the bumper still on. I really like the quality of the hitch and the price nice as well. I assume the poor rating is due to the instructions stating the rear bumper can stay on during installation. Maybe it can stay on, but it didn't work for me. They should add a note that it is much easier without the bumper.

The first Curt receiver I purchased was on my Chevy. I liked it so much that when it came time to buy one for the Toyota Tacoma there was no reason to look anywhere else. There are many complaints about the packaging condition and when mine was delivered there was damage to the box. The thing is made of steel and they don't waste anything by using a lot of packing material. Personally I don't see the problem with the box being damaged. The product was in great condition. When the one for the Chevy arrived it had no packaging at all but had an address label attached to the receiver. Installing the receiver took me much longer than expected but most of the time was spent struggling to get the old bolts out of the Toyota. I live in a state that liberally salts the roads in winter so rusted bolts are an expectation. Also compounding the problem was working in the driveway with only hand tools. There was enough room under the truck so I could install the receiver without jacking the truck up. I sprayed the bolts a with a penetrating oil a couple of days in advance of trying to remove them. I would have started spraying them everyday for several days before had the weather been more cooperative. A lot of time would have been saved if I had access to an impact gun. The receiver fit the truck perfectly. All the holes and hardware aligned as it was intended. It's an awkward job to do without a lift but I found that I could balance the receiver on my floor jack and lift with the jack while guiding it into place with the other hand. It's a very solidly built part and gives me confidence as I tow my trailer that it will do the job. I definitely recommend Curt products.

This Winch is very heavy duty. If you are mechanically inclined, this will be a straight forward install.

I received my Curt Manufacturing 13323 Class III Receiver right away, and all the parts I needed were included. The directions were very clear, except that the nut and bolt sizes listed were much smaller than the actual hardware that was sent. The included hardware was the right size for the job, so I'm going to guess that the instructions had the wrong sizes written. I was able to install the hitch receiver all by myself, but I'd recommend having someone help you, if possible. Two people would have made the job go a lot faster. I assume that most people installing this themselves will not have access to a vehicle lift. so, to make the project easier, I strongly recommend having the following items at your disposal: - a creeper - two jacks - two ratchets (short handle and long handle) - A breaker bar - A pry bar or big screwdriver. - another person Use one jack to hold your bumper in place when you loosen it, to install the hitch receiver. Use the other jack to raise the hitch receiver into place, since it weighs about 40 lbs. Remember to park on on a flat surface - using jacks on a sloped surface, like a driveway, is not advised. The creeper will make it easy to get to where all the bolts are. You'll need a breaker bar to loosen the nuts that hold the bumper on. The pry bar, or big screwdriver, will help you separate the support bracket from the frame of the truck. (Don't stick your fingers anywhere they might get pinched!) I'm really happy with the end result.

The hitch seems very strong...and the fit is great. It took me awhile to install it but that was mostly due to the rusted bolts in the frame...not due to the Curt hitch product.
