I'm in my korean ajummah era now and this hat was and is perfect. I also have a giant head and this works perfectly for me. It is a ridiculous size but its exactly what I wanted and needed. It's comforable, it doesn't weigh weirdly on your head, its super light and surprisingly not floppy. When I got it it was folded in quarters and i thought that the wrinkle and bend would stay but it all went away after an hour. I think the surface area protects ytour skin, neck and shoulders.

My husband has a gigantic head, where it's basically impossible to find a fitting hat for them. This hat actually fits their head rather nicely, and the adjustable rubber band makes it such that they can also wear it on our daily bike rides! The super wide brim also makes them very cool on sunny days and covers their face during most times of the day. I will say that for the shipment, the hat will come curved, but you can actually press it flat like you would press a seam when you're working on a sewing project. However, please keep in mind that this is polyester or synthetic fabric, and please use a protective fabric before blasting it with a crap ton of steam. I accidentally melted the fabric on one tiny spot. It's not a big deal, but please keep that in mind. Look up how to press a seam, grab an iron, a cotton fabric, and an ironing board, and you should be good to go!

This is truly an amazing hat due to its size. Amazing shade all across. It is also very light, easy to fold into quarter size and carry. Very light on the head when worn long extended hours in the sun. The downside to the lightness is that it sways when windy and has to be held with both hands, especially when on the move. For some strange reason the straps snapped, but when I contacted HLLMAN, they were very concerned and prompt to replace the hat. Been using the replacement hat for a few months now, and the strap its pretty normal. So seems it was a onetime problem. HLLMAN did say they will improve their quality checks.

My light duty sun hat did an OK job, but I wanted better protection for my face and neck so I thought I would give this a try. It did not disappoint - this hat is fantastic. I purchased it just in time for some of the hotter weekends I can remember. It cut down on the glare and the shade kept me from going home with a sunburn. This hat will catch the wind, but with the strap under my chin the hat stays put. I've purchased two of these hats so far - they are folded into boxes so there are bends in the brim, but they are not creased like other brands that ship in envelopes or mailers. I read somewhere that getting the hat wet then spreading out to dry in the sun helps straighten it out. This is just what I did. Getting the hat to absorb a little moisture took a bit of water - these hats are water resistant and water tends to bead off. But setting the wet hats in the sun did the job. I can't say the brims are completely flat, but the hats hold their shape well even when the wind is blowing a bit.

I am pasty white and while I wish I could tan I only burn so I have to be very careful in the Arizona sun to keep the sun at bay in the pool or when doing yard work. This exceeded my expectation, the hat does adjust in the head since I am female even at it's tightest it was still a bit loose but it was not uncomfortable. I love that it is vented so it doesn't feel like your head is being cooked and the air circulates. It does have a chin strap but I have yet to use it. I choose gray because black absorbs heat and beige reflects a lot of light so gray was a good choice. It is waterproof and it came folded into quarters in a box and after a couple of days the creases came out once it was unfolded. I am holding onto the box because it would travel great in a suitcase or large purse. This hat looks heavy but in reality it is very light. I wasn't expecting much even though it said it was super wide brim, however, the brim in fact was super wide. It does a good job of covering my face, chest, shoulders all the way down to the elbows when I am in the pool. My biggest concern was my face, shoulders chest, neck and where my back is exposed from my bathing suit. This bucket hat covered all of those parts and prevented me from getting sunburned along with my sunscreen. I now feel confident in going fishing and sitting out there all day and not getting burned. Even though this is marketed to men I was surprised at the compliments I received and people wanting to know where I bought it. I hope this company takes my not so subtle hint and make some bucket hats with prints geared toward women!

Yes, the hat does arrive all folded up, but the folds are slowly working out over time and not a big deal at all. As a gardener and hiker I was looking for a hat that would cover my head and neck and this works very completely. On my other sun hats there is an area at the base of my neck and shoulders that always manages to get some sun and with this hat that area is covered...thankfully. That was my top issue when looking for a new and better sun hat as a person with a history of sun cancer. As a hiker, this hat also works better than my other hats because the brim doesn't flip or down when I am jogging up or down hills. The brim stays in place perfectly, as long as I have the ties zipped up tight under my chin. The biggest downfall is that the brim falls down on my forehead and blocks my line of sight looking forward. It works best when I'm looking down (gardening) because even though I clench the toggle to tighten around my small head, it still slides down a bit and I have a hard time keeping it up at the correct angle to walk with my head looking straight forward. I hope I can figure out a way around this issue and make it tighter for me so I can see better, but as far as sun blocking ability it is terrific. Another bonus is the material / fabric on the top of the hat is very thin and breathable so my head doesn't get so hot and sweaty in the sun----huge bonus! It has a mesh around the sides of the hat too---extra cooling. I looked at hats here on Amazon for weeks before making this important decision and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Right now I'm still banging into doors and things with my brim as I'm not used to having such a big hat on! It is kind of comical! I'll get used to it soon!! Great hat!!!

I need to give this a bad review because the fabric on this hat is not resistant to the sun/heat. I had this hat in my back window of my car for a couple days, and the fabric shriveled up really weird. It looks like it was melted! My car is a light-colored car, and this hat is supposed to be a sun hat. It should be able to withstand this condition without being damaged. This hat is not good enough to be a sun hat. I don’t like it. I don’t know why it melted, and it makes me sad. I don’t want to wear it. It’s not durable. It doesn’t fit my head well because it seems too big and rests on my ears instead of the top of my head. Who would wear this? You’d need a really big head. I’m suspicious of things that melt in the sun… 👎
