In expensive but makes a great cup of coffee.
I only want one mug of coffee in the morning. I had a small coffee maker, but the smallest amount of coffee it would make was 24 oz. This little coffee maker uses a single cup Keurig coffee pod, but it also comes with a screened pod sized cup that allows the user to use less expensive ground coffee. It is easy to use, just put 16 oz of water in the reservoir, put in a Keurig compatible coffee pod or the screen cup filled with the coffee of your choice. close the top flaps, put the mug you want the coffee in (this coffee maker doesn't come with a cup) push the power button and in about two minutes or less you have a excellent cup of coffee.

Coffee Machine Malfunctions, Unusable.
We loved it for the first few days until it stopped working. The red descale light continually comes on indicating the machine needs descaling. We followed the descaling instructions multiple times in hopes that it would work but no luck. It won't make a cup of coffee.

Amazingly convenient simple single-serve hot drink maker
I don't drink coffee, but I have a cacao farm and saw advertisements on the interwebs for ground nibs for making hot cacao coffee replacement, so I thought I would give this a try. The machine worked great, but I am not so sure about the nib coffee... it tastes weak, I got better flavor from putting the winnowing leftovers into the filter cartridge and making tea instead. This maker comes with an insert for grinds, and a separate adapter for K-cups, making it very versatile. It is so very simple to use, I fill up my mug (up to 12 fl oz) with as much cold water as I want to make of cacao tea, then pour it in the reservoir, put my empty mug under the drain, then push a button and wait a couple of minutes. Out comes hot drink, which I then let cool a bit, and mix it with sweetener and/or creamer, to preference. Surprisingly satisfying! Cleanout is easy enough, just remove the cartridge and empty it. I imagine coffee grounds could go into a collection for spreading on the garden; I plan to dry the ground cacao nibs and melange them into chocolate later (I suspect there is plenty of flavor left over in the nibs, not going to throw them out...). This maker has a descaling option, the instructions are pretty good, and I like how simple and uncomplicated it all is. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because it feels a little bit overpriced, but it definitely gets the job done, and I would not regret ordering if I had paid full price (which I didn't, cuz Vine, like...)

Fast Coffee Brews 1 Cup At a Time; But Plasticky Smell Persists
The Horavie Small Single Serve Coffee Maker brews a single cup of coffee in as little as 120 seconds, supporting both K-Cup pods and ground coffee for 6, 8, or 12 oz pours. Encased in BPA-free, heat-resistant plastic, this compact brewer features a visible water tank, a one-touch control, and an automatic descaling reminder with a self-clean cycle. The manufacturer claims that every component that contacts water or coffee is made from BPA-free, food-safe materials. The exterior combines matte white plastic with a slim profile and weighs just 2.2 lb, making it easy to stow in tight spaces. A transparent water-level window lets you monitor capacity at a glance, while the snap-in capsule holder and reusable ground-coffee filter insert into a removable brew head. Edge seams and plastic fittings feel sturdy, though the ground-coffee basket can be fiddly to clean if grounds clump along the rim. Brew strength is governed largely by coffee-to-water ratio and grind size when using loose grounds; there’s no separate “strong” or “bold” button. Operation is as simple as filling the reservoir to the marked maximum, inserting a pod or grounds, and pressing the brew button. A red “descale” indicator illuminates after extended use. I do notice a constant plasticky smell every time I brew coffee. That got me worried that plastic may be leaching into the brewed coffee. I have stopped using this coffee maker solely on account of this smell.
