So Good, So Far!
Seems to work well. I had problems at first (soft of plug and play). When I plugged it in, it did not want to work, however, once I rebooted and let it go through its steps and relogged in all seems to be working well at this time and I am not for seeing any issues. However, I would make 1 recommendation. Load Windows, then plug in the USB Drive, then Reboot and let it load all the drivers. Cable length is short, but not an issue, seems to be quite compatible and little to no noise (Keep in mind I am hearing impaired). This USB Drive is faster than expected (Which is a good thing) From what I can see this is a great value for the money. I will follow up on this one at a later time if I change my opinion.

Bought two, returned two within 24 hours of delivery
Bought two of them with the thought “at least one of them HAS to work, right?” Wrong. The first one I plugged in fooled me: it read two discs in a row. So, ok, let’s make sure the other one works. Plugged it into my laptop, nothing happened. Ok, maybe it needs both USB-A and -C plugged in to get enough power. My laptop doesn’t have a C port so I moved over to my desktop. Plugged the A and C cables into the motherboard directly - like the instructions advise. Did not use a USB extender, did not use the front panel USB ports; went directly into the back of the tower. Right in the motherboard. No dice. No lights, no spinning, nothing. Just for funsies, I tried it on a third computer (also a desktop, also plugged directly into the motherboard and not an extender or front panel) with zero success. Wrote up a return request for the second one, chose the option “I’d like a replacement please,” took the device to return it at Staples, handed it to the guy and drove home. In that span of time, the first one (the one that read two discs in a row) had decided it had had enough, and the tray refused to open to allow me to retrieve the disc that was in it. Light blinked, it sounded like it was trying to read the disc, my laptop TRIED to acknowledge there was a device plugged in. Finally had to take a paperclip and use the manual eject button to get my disc back. “Screw it,” I thought to myself, “I’ll just get a full blown refund on this one.” So I’ve got a replacement device arriving on Saturday and I’ve already been issued a refund for this one. Do not let the AI review fool you. This is not a good product, and a total waste of time, fuel, and effort for the delivery drivers.

It can read CD/DVD/bluray
It works just as intended, it reads CD, DVD and bluray perfectly. The whole plug-and-play aspect is that it seems it doesn't need any extra drivers to read the discs. The issue of playing or reading the contents is a whole other problem that cannot be easily handled by a device alone. My suggestion if you are interested is to buy this one and on your pc, then try CD/DVD with a software called VLC. It should be enough for those, bluray needs more work but you can make it happen with that same software as well.

Good external optical drive and card reader
I needed to add optical drive capability to a newer computer that didn't have it, but I also didn't want to mount a 5.25-in drive in one of the drive bays, because my computer is still under factory warranty. This device does that quite well and for a great price, and adds more USB ports as well as card reading capability. Unlike most similar devices that put the ports on the back, opposite the drive tray, the ports on this device are on top of the device when it sits flat on your desk or computer case. They are a lot more convenient to access this way, giving this drive an edge over the others like it I have used before. It's a ton of functionality for a very low price, so any faults I find in it have to be taken with the consideration of all the positives this device has. I do have some criticisms, though - most importantly is the flashing lights seem less like a feature and more like an irritation to me. They may be fun for some people, but I doubt it. They're too basic for anyone who does addressable RGB case mods, and they're irritating to people like me who work too late and in the dark a lot. It's minor, but I wish they could be turned off with something other than black electrical tape (which is what I used). My only other criticism is common on devices in this price range - the USB cord is laughably short. It won't even let me set the drive on top of my case; the drive is left dangling from its cord unless you use an extension cable. That isn't really a problem unless it bothers you to look at. The drive is lightweight and there isn't really much chance that the port would be damaged from having the drive hanging there, and if you are plugging into a hub on your desktop that isn't a problem for you. Since this is not really a flaw, I didn't deduct anything stars - but, if you will be bothered by the short cable, now you know you may need a USB A or C extender when ordering this drive. Would I buy it again? Definitely. It's a convenient drive with better design than many like it, and the things I don't like about it are minor and easily worked around with a bit of black tape. I recommend it if it meets your needs and budget!

Great
I bought this to play Blu-ray’s on my laptop, and it does just that. It plays normal Blu-ray’s and burnt Blu-ray’s aswell. You will need additional software to be able to use this, which can be found freely on my laptops Microsoft/windows stores.its just plug and play and value is worth it. The usb connection is short but works just fine if you use a laptop tray or stand/table. Compatible with usb and usbc type plugs.

Works well. Short leash.
Works well and a good price. Unless you are only going to plug it in on rare occasions I recommend getting a USB 3 extension cord with it.
