Ruby Sunday Doll, Dr. Who Collectible Inspired by the Series’ 14th Season with Doll Stand & Certificate of Authenticity

Petite mtm body makes her so adorable. I do not follow dr. Who, I know nothing about the show or how this doll fares as a representation of the character, ruby Sunday. However, I am an avid barbie collector who knows what out of box collectors like. She will need her hair washed due to tons of gel making her hair very stiff and weird-looking out of the box. Her face sculpt is Daisy (the first one was introduced with the first curvy fashionistas doll). Unlike most daisy sculpts, this one has a more realistic proportion in her screening. Her unkempt hair will need some trimming as the ends are unruly. Her stockings don't go all the way up, to sit flush against her bottom. They have a gap of space at the crotch which is really annoying, it's not just mine. Other collectors have complained about this. Her jacket is well made, no closure, the belt is removable and can be closed. The skirt is really shorts... skorts? Her red top tucks into the skirt/shorts and is held in place with a strap at the bottom of the shirt which functions like a body suit. I haven't checked the complexion match to other dolls, but she appears to be the default beige skin tone of most Caucasian millie dolls. But don't quote me on that. Ears are not pierced, no other accessories included. She has a little nick in her eyebrow, cute feature. Overall, she's a great addition to any collection. In or out of box, with or without customizations, she is really fun to display. I had a great time redressing her (in my photos, her hair has been washed).

This Dr. Who doll is worth purchasing! I love the pensive expression on her face and her green eyes which are hard to find. The lip color is a very low-key soft rose. I washed her hair with a good shampoo and conditioner and the hair glue washed away with water. I did not use a hair blow dryer as that creates static that won't go away. The hair maintained its slight wave which I really like as it is trendy and natural. The hair may poof out a little, but I do not mind as it has body. I prefer hair with body to flat hair. The red top and the tartan fabric skort (shorts/skirt) fit a Made to Move (MTM) Barbie. I transferred the outfit to a Made to Move Barbie that is neither curvy nor tall. The MTM Barbie can sit in a chair with the skort. The jacket has fleece trim on both wrists, at the bottom of the jacket, and on one side of the jacket's opening flap. I converted Ruby Sunday into a pilot action figure and her black jacket fits over the pilot uniform to perfection. I just had to roll up the pant cuffs as she is a petite Barbie doll. I may swap her to a standard MTM body later. Highly recommend this lovely doll with a great outfit. The black boots also fit MTM standard Barbie.

I really like this Ruby Sunday doll and her outfit is unique to the character and well made. I wanted to know more about her character, so I watched some of the Dr. Who series that inspired her after receiving the doll. She is on a petite made to move body and it's the Daisy face sculpt. I am very happy with my purchase and she remains a favorite in my collection.

I really like dolls that aren't just blonde haired, blue eyed and that aren't a 'Mille' Face Sculpt. This is a made-to-move (22 points of articulation) Petite Barbie with the 'Daisy' face sculpt in the likeness of Dr. Who's companion Ruby Sunday. I watched Dr. Who as a kid, but I like dolls that aren't the usual pink box issue. The Ruby Sunday doll is a lovely addition to the Mattel Collector line. As mentioned above, she has the Daisy face sculpt, with blonde highlighted hair in a chin-length crimped bob. She has light green eyes and an eyebrow that either has been shaved partially or there is a scar representation. Ruby wears a faux leather jacket with interesting 'fur' details, it is a belted jacket with a buckle that can be removed (once tags are free). She also has a red blouse that has a plastic sewn on protector underneath (to prevent the red color from dying the doll's body), and has an elastic strap to keep the shirt in place. I adore the little tartan 'skorts' the doll wears, and there are black mesh tights underneath. She wears black combat boots that are really cute too. The doll is really cute, I have purchased a few of these to make into other dolls (I'm crafty). All of them have arrived in the original shipper with tissue paper secured around it. Highly recommended!

I bought this doll on sale for under $40. The clothes are cute, better quality than playline. The skirt is actually shorts, which I like because it means it won’t ride up when she’s being posed or played with. The clothes barely fit on her petite-size body, so be aware that they won’t fit classic, tall, or curvy dolls at all. Her hair came unkempt with choppy uneven bits. I think this is because it’s meant to be wavy/textured and a factory machine cuts the hair after it curls them. I poured some boiled water over the head to wash out the hardening gel it comes with, brushed it with a plastic doll brush, and trimmed the truly too long strands easily. My head has a patch of the material that is somewhat chipped? It looks like a bit of the rubber will peel off at some point. I body swapped it for a petite fashionista doll and was worried I would rip the neck hole. I bought it for the body, as the only other petite in this skin tone is the Gloria doll from the Barbie movie, which resells online for $50-90. But the face is cute. Playline Daisy mold often has poor or uneven screening, so the quality of this doll’s face is definitely on the higher end.

I'm glad I have her and she's stylish and fine looking. Price is on par for the course. Just a few things to know about: - her short hair has a tendency to poof out and look terrible. I always leave her with a hat on for this reason. - the pleather / faux-leather will delaminate in a few years and come apart - this is a petite Barbie doll. her clothes are tailored to her petite frame, meaning that they are hard to put on a regular Barbie and don't look right. They do not fit Tall and Curvy Barbie.
