Beat soil always!!
This is the soil that I always buy to fill my flower pots and start my tomato plants end of May. And amazing for your flowers also. Tomatoes consume a lot of water. This soil makes it so nice that I do not have to go out every day and have to water. Great product

The soil stays moist
I used to water my inside lettuce pots twice a week and it was not enough to keep them alive, especially when things would get busy and I would space it, so I gave up for awhile. I still wanted to grow things though so I planted again using this for my soil along with some additional perlite mixed in to prevent it getting too compacted etc. The soil stays moist. When I have watered I've done so very lightly and I have set up a fan to lightly blow across the plants to keep the soil from getting moldy which I noticed it trying to do after about two weeks. The mold is the kind that likes to grow on the soil in covered seedling trays so I am regularly spritzing it with chamomile tea which helps with that kind of mold. If I forget to water occasionally I am certain everything will be fine.

Works well, so far. Nothing's drowned.
I've always wanted to have a garden, but my attempts have almost always ended in failure for one reason or another. Recently I got the chance to grab a gardening kit from Amazon so decided to try again and my kids joined me by starting some little seedling sets we'd picked up that came with tiny little 1" pots. I didn't expect any of it to grow, but it all did, and suddenly I found myself needing an absurd amount of dirt. I didn't want to dig up the back yard since we're renting, and this soil mix came with the gardening kit and seemed to work well, so I ordered more. We're a month in so far and have 2 zucchini, 4 cherry tomato, 4 cilantro, 6 sunflowers, a collection of petunias and cornflowers, as well as some green onions and assorted other seedlings all growing very nicely. Occasionally the kids forget whose turn it is to water them and they get watered twice in one morning, or not at all, and none of the plants are showing signs of over or underwatering, so I'd say it works well for moisture control in that regard. There have also been days where we watered and then got an unexpected downpour, and they've survived. I don't know if this is the soil or just luck... All the plants are in 6-8" pots and seem to get slightly dry every other day unless we have a rare all-day-sunny day, even though they're sitting in a spot that gets full sun for most of the day, so I'd have to say the water retention qualities perform well too. My only complaint is that there seems to be an awful lot of larger twigs and chunks of bark in this soil. I mean pieces 2-3" wide and maybe 3-4" long. I'm hardly a gardening expert so it's possible that these chunks are in there on purpose, to help drainage or something, I don't know, but I've never seen another potting soil with so much debris in it. Attached pictures are zucchini and cherry tomato seedlings at one month.

Idiot Proof Plant Growing
When I first started growing plants I used this soil because it was a good value, the next time I bought soil I used a different kind of Miracle Gro soil and it didn't give great results. The other soil seemed to become more compact with ever watering and my luck with growing plants from seeds was hit or miss. So I went back to this moisture control soil and it is like night and day. It doesn't shrink in on itself after the plant has been watered and helps control the water source - of which I don't have great knowledge. I won't buy any other soil going forward

Big Bag...Heavier than I thought. I use a hand truck to move it around.
This is really an all purpose soil. Although it says Potting Mix, I use it for ground level plants, pots, planters and a raised garden as well. Everything I plant in Miracle Grow does very well from tomatoes, basil, ground orchids, sunflowers and wildflowers. This is the best for all of them!!! Try it...you won't be disappointed!

Grow all my indoor plants with this soil and Iโm. so happy with the results! No moldy stinky mess or odors once the bag is kept cool dry space. Itโs just the right size. My avocado plant grew to 3 feet with this in 2.5 months!!!
