This thing is excellent. I have been a die hard knife collector since childhood.. despite having many sharpening stones over the years, and various instructional books and videos, I was never quite about to get the hang of it or achieve a decent edge with a stone. Great for a quick sharpening job or reprofile a blade. I don't know that you will get a razor sharp mirror finish from this but for cheaper blades it keeps them plenty sharp.
