Easy upgrade to existing stereo
I replaced the head unit in my car with a cheap 10" head unit from Walmart. It gave me access to wired Android Auto on a large screen. I had seen similar devices that upgrade the connection to wireless, however those during initial release were much more expensive. During a recent road trip across the country, my wired connection would frequently disconnection. I would need to adjust the cable to get it to reconnect. This got really frustrating when trying to drive an RV through traffic to keep my maps up. We reached our half way point about 3,000 miles into the trip and I decided to check out Amazon. This device worked right away and never disconnected once on the return trip. There is no discernable difference on my head unit that I am on the Wired or Wireless connection. Once it it is set up, the connection comes up quickly once detected. I did not try the Carplay feature since I am on Android, but I would imagine it would be the same. I did find a few issues with my set up, but this is not a design error and instead a unique setup. My head unit is powered by the RV house batteries so it stays on. I can manually shut off the head unit at night, but I found that once my phone "connected" to this device, it would wake my head unit and connect. This was a draw back since I found I didn't have a good way to shut off the device. There was probably a better way to disconnect, ran into issues where I would turn off Bluetooth, but by the time I went to disconnect from Android Auto it reconnected my Bluetooth. While this is great for when you are "trying" to connect, it can be frustrating as part of the disconnect process. Again, this is not an issue with the device, but rather how the software interacts. I probably could have found a better way if I spent the time, however in the quick moment of trying to disconnect, I just unplugged this dongle instead. It was quick and easy and just set it aside until I was ready to use it again. None of this is would be an issue in a standard vehicle that the USB plug would turn off when the car turns off.

Works well with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
I was in the market for a wireless Android adapter because my Motorola MA1 gave up the ghost. The selection of wireless car adapters is certainly much wider now, thank goodness. I have been using this new adapter for a few weeks now and so far I am thoroughly enjoying it. Things I like: its compact size, solid build, the fact that it has USB on one side and USB-C on the other (so no separate adapter to lose), the thoughtful cap to cover the side you're not using, and that it holds its connection to the phone very well, even when driving through areas that my previous adapter struggled with. It pairs quickly when I start up the vehicle. Sound quality is great. And the initial pairing steps were straightforward with the help of the well-written included instructions. The product includes two short cords, which I appreciate because it will make it easier to use in harder to fit vehicles. Two big thumbs up from me!

Works Great for CarPlay, Decent for Android Auto
I’ve been using the ByteWave Wireless Android Auto & CarPlay Adapter (2025 version) for a few weeks now, and it’s been a great way to add wireless CarPlay/Android Auto to my car. With CarPlay, it connects super fast and runs very smoothly — apps open quickly, music and navigation work perfectly, and there’s basically no lag. With Android Auto, it takes a bit longer to set up, and there’s a small delay when using apps or voice commands. It’s still usable, but not as snappy as CarPlay. One small downside is that it doesn’t switch easily between phones. If you have both iPhone and Android users in the car, you’ll need to disconnect one before connecting the other. Overall, it’s a solid adapter that does what it promises. Perfect for iPhone users and still pretty good for Android — just expect a little lag.

High quality and reliable gadget.
This wireless adapter works flawlessly with my car. The setup was incredibly easy, and it connects automatically and reliably every time I start the engine. I've experienced zero lag when using navigation or streaming music—the response is instantaneous. Its compact size is a huge plus, as I was able to tuck it away completely out of sight, keeping my console clutter-free. Overall, this is a high-quality, reliable gadget that I highly recommend to anyone looking to go wireless.

Very happy with it
I bought this when I had a Motorola G Stylus 2022. It worked, but not as well as I would have liked. I recommended it to so coworkers and they had no issues with it. I had been having some issues with the Motorola anyway so I got a Samsung S25. The difference was amazing. So, back to the adapter. I leave it plugged into my F150. When I get in and start the truck, it boots right up and connects my phone to the radio and Android Auto immediately. When I would use a USB cable, I would have issue with the radio disconnecting from my phone. That doesn't happen anymore. I have never lost connection from my phone to the radio with this adapter. Once I made the Bluetooth connection from my phone to the adapter, it always connects. I plugged it into my wife's Honda Passport, and I was immediately connected to Android Auto. This has been a very good product for me.

Will pair but won't stay connected to my Pixel 9 Pro and 2020 Camaro???
I ordered one of these and it would pair with my phone and I'd get the pair code, opt to pair it, then it would instantly disconnect. Then, if I forgot the device (Bluetooth settings) it wouldn't see it again until I rebooted the phone (which seems strange). It would also act like it is connecting then disconnecting. The green light would sometimes flash every 5 seconds or so then sometimes ever 10 seconds or more. It acted like it was defective so I contacted Amazon and they sent me another one. It is doing the SAME THING. I see a review where somebody else appears to be having the same issues. This is in a 2020 Camaro with a Pixel 9 Pro XL phone. I've tried everything... firmware is up to date. Took off my smart watch. Connected to my house internet while in driveway with phone and then didn't and made sure no other WiFi was connected to my phone. Tried connecting phone to this device's Wifi while plugged into car and then to Bluetooth. Nope. Then, with the first device and now my new one, sometimes it just indicates that it can't communicate with the device id blah blah blah when trying to pair too. It might do it before I get to the pairing screen showing the pairing ID then if I unplug the dongle and plug it back in I might get past that but then get the same error message after I see the pairing number code and say to pair. Then, sometimes I can pair it but then it never attaches. Once I got Android Auto to come up on my phone but never did it come up in my car. Car screen always shows a connection error and asks if I want to retry or cancel. I'm pretty techy and have spent over 2 hours trying every combo I can think of and nothing is working any differently... the Bluetooth will NOT stay connected. Any ideas? Also, when I plugged it into my computer (to check firmware and update) the computer kept making the USB device connect/disconnect sound over and over. I don't know if I just got unlucky or what and got two defective units with the same issue or if something isn't compatible with either my 2020 Camaro (wired Android Auto works fine) or the Pixel 9 Pro or what? I've got a message into tech support and will update rating once I hear from their tech support. I'm not hopeful because reading the reviews here and how easy this is to setup doesn't give me much hope since I think I've done about everything and spent already 2 hours on this. Ugh. Edit: Bumped my review up to 2 stars. The explained my problems through the Amazon tech service messaging and they didn't have many suggestions but refunded my for the device. Bummed it didn't work because I really liked the size. Edit 2: Bumped it up to 3 stars due to customer support. Even after they refunded my money when they couldn't figure out the issue in message support, they saw this review and asked if there was anything more they could do. I'm disappointed two of these wouldn't work (not sure if I got two defective products in a row, something with my particular car, or something with my phone???) but their customer service goes out of their way to do the right thing so for that I think it's worth 3 stars and my issues, based on other reviews, aren't the norm. Edit 3: Upped to 5 stars because I think the problem is something wrong in my car. I bought two other brands and they are all doing the same thing. Not fair to ding this one when the problem is likely not with the device. :)

Clear sound with no lag, easy connection
This device works well and overall is a good value. I have used it with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Sound quality is clear when listening to music. There is no noticeable bluetooth lag and it works great with a voice assistant. I have used it in several vehicles from different manufacturers and it was compatible with all of them. However in my wife's Honda, the car requires the driver to enable it every time the vehicle is started. The car doesn't do that when a phone is connected directly. All other vehicles require an initial paring and then it simply works.
