Great for a small family, couples or single person.
It’s great! I held off making my review till I was able to use the food processor which works so perfect and comes with so many different ways to use that with the slicing tool. It does take some getting used to you to not like over. Blend your stuff in the food processor. And it’s much larger than I had anticipated so just so you know it’s definitely not small. The blender itself is excellent. I thought that maybe getting a smaller picture would make it harder to make smoothies for my family, but it ended up being perfect with nothing leftover so for two adults and one child I can make a smoothie that can for everyone exactly. No leftovers. It’s really easy to use. I wouldn’t say it’s affordable, but the value for the money was great because I really wanted a food processor so the only thing is that the little handle for the stick for the blender it’s made of plastic and it doesn’t really lock in so it comes off really easily but I feel like if you’re not moving your blender a lot it should be fine. Everything else is great. I mean it’s a Vitamix. It does what it does. I’m grateful to have one after having my ninja foodie for so long like there’s some programs that it doesn’t have, but I feel like it was definitely a good upgrade as far as my smoothies are so much better. 5:-.

Quality machine
Performs great, has lots of power and has the best warranty of any blender I viewed. Although it is a bit pricey, I am glad I bought a quality made in USA machine instead of a cheap made in China machine that does not last.

Good blender
Having previously owned a BlendTec that lasted roughly 13 years, I decided to give the Vitamix a try based on feedback from people who owned them. The Vitamix seems to blend large frozen strawberries better than the BlendTec, which took two blend cycles to fully blend strawberries. The Vitamix jar is a bit smaller, so less capacity. It also doesn't always spin fast enough to get the protein powder off of the side of the jar. The ridges inside the jar make it more difficult to clean than the BlendTec as well. In the end, the Vitamix blends better but has drawbacks of being more difficult to clean and a smaller capacity when compared to the BlendTec.

Love the blender, the food processor not so much
Huge Vitamix fan here - have owned one of their standalone 48oz blenders for 14yrs now and still going strong. So naturally I jumped at the opportunity to try out their new Ascent X2 2-in-1 kitchen system. Verdict: I like the blender, but the food processor left something to be desired. Plus, this thing and all its components is cumbersome to store. The diagram in the manual shows you how to stack everything for more streamlined storage, but it just doesn’t sit right or work. Most annoyingly though is the food processor lid: it’s hard to snap down on the bowl and you really have to fight it to get it seated correctly. Bowl alignment was annoying too. I felt I spent more time just trying to get everything aligned/seated correctly than I was actually processing food. And due to the large motor base it makes the processor sit tall on your countertop. Not ideal for shorter people like myself. Lastly, no pulse option like my Cuisinart processor has. The blender on the other hand, no complaints there - works like my 14yr old Vitamix that I know and love. Noise wise they are about average: blender is loud, food processor slightly quieter but not nearly as quiet as my Cuisinart. In the end I like the concept of this 2-in-1 food processor and blender, but ultimately just prefer my separate units instead. I had a really hard time deciding whether this deserved a 4-star or 3-star rating, and ultimately had to go with 3-stars because of the noted issues with the food processor and storing the entire thing is more cumbersome than it should be. Price point is fair though considering you do get a 2-in-1 work horse that would cost you more to buy separately. This just wasn’t my cup of smoothie.
