Idiot proof epoxy
This is my new favorite epoxy. Works great for fiberglassing over foam and, best of all, no odors!

Perfect epoxy for Seattle chilly weather
This stuff is the best! I kept the resin and hardener indoors at home temperature (65-68F) and used it in my chilly Seattle garage which typically stays at 45 degrees all fall and winter. The coating goes on very nicely. No amine blush hence you donโt need to sand prior to applying a second coat. Thinning with acetone at 10% yields a very fluid mix which is perfect for coating the plywood, prior to glassing. Another usage note: I thinned and applied over the glass layer it cures to a very glossy finish, a perfect hot coat appearance. As you can see in the pictures I used it to make an Okume plywood Stand up paddle. The edges are your home pink foam. Theyโll be painted black after the final hot coat. What is special about this epoxy resin that makes it suited to our temperate weather? Itโs formulated right around the corner in Auburn, WA.

Not as easy as other epoxies I have used
Water clear and no volatiles make it almost odor free. Refinishing 3-0 x 8-0 exterior doors laid flat on sawhorses. Did not flow out as well as other epoxies, left roller stipple and brush marks. Applied at 71F with 1/8 nap foam roller as directed. Do not use bristle brushes as instructed, use foam unless you like picking/sanding bristles from your work! Mixed 15oz batches, 30 min working time easily adequate. Sands well, coverage about as indicated on label, however this left heavier coat than I desired when cured. Lower viscosity with better flow out would be preferable for woodwork.

Best epoxy for a clear finish.
I'm using this to fiberglass and encapsulate a small boat I'm building. Using the metering pumps, I've never had a bad batch. It wets out the glass beautifully and cures hard over night. The claims of "no blush" are accurate and I have not had to sand between coats when they are applied within a day or two. I chose this since I'm doing a "bright" clear finish over Mahogany, and this stuff cures clear.

Would recommend this to beginner boat builders for ease of application and quality results.
Great Product. Have used West Brand and Marine Poxy Brand. I would rate West Brand as a 2 star in Comparison and Marine Poxy 4 1/2 to 5 stars in comparison.

Super Slick and Durable Epoxy
I sincerely enjoyed applying this epoxy. It's very thick so it creates a nice thick layer when dry. I did, however, have to add some alcohol for one of the applications to thin it out so it spread easily. I ended up using my hand to spread it evenly which is the only tool I found to be effective enough at spreading the epoxy evenly. I put two coats on each side. 3 out of the 4 coats had an abundance of air bubbles which eventually popped during the curing process leaving my project looking like a 13 year old, acne ridden face. I found this to be the result of my mixing technique, so, mix slowly as not to introduce any air into the mixture. I used the slow hardener which did not cure in 40 minutes, it was closer to two hours so just be aware of that. Other than those observations I really loved the final product I created with System Three Silvertip Epoxy.

No need to wash with soup and water to get rid of the Amino Blush. That saves a lot of time and agony. The Silver tip Epoxy is blush free.

This is a very good crystal clear epoxy. It was recommended to me by composite Envisions for carbon fiber skinning parts. However, I would not recommend the 2:1 formula for carbon fiber cloth wet laying, as it takes way too long to get tacky and set up. It takes at least 4 to 6 hours to get tacky and not stick to your finger and then another several hours to harden. I would say this formula is more suited toward vacuum bag systems with molds for carbon when making carbon fiber parts. I would recommend System Three with a 3:1 or 4:1 epoxy/hardener formula so that you can add multiple layers of epoxy per day as this formula can only be applied once per day.
