On Wings of Blood Review: True enemies to lovers with dragons - ***contains some spoilers*** I’d give this 6 stars if I could. Absolutely wonderful. Was it the fanciest writing? No but the vibes were top notch. Also the sprayed edges are perfection. True enemies to almost lovers, slow burn, tension for days. The hatred competing with their feelings for each other….***chefs kiss***. Arranged marriage, dragon rider, vampires. All the things you can hope for in a dark romantasy. The FMC is fierce, stubborn almost to the point of self-sabotage, yet inspiring for always standing her ground. I love, love, love the world building with ties to Camelot. I can’t wait to see how this ties into the storyline more. I don’t know how these authors keep finding ways to write a romantasy with an academy setting in a unique way, but Briar Boleyn sure did. The storyline sucked me in from the first pages and kept me hooked. I wasn’t ready for it to end. There was just enough excitement and story progression without feeling rushed. This book is certainly not hyped enough IMO. Sometimes the time jumping was less obvious than I would like but it also illustrated the progression through Medras experience well. I actually liked not focusing on her grief for Naveen because the whole story had focused on her feminine rage. To have deviated from that would have ruined the character arc. Instead she just used his death to continue to fuel her goals and choices. The emotional damage is there, you can feel the undertones from this, the way Blake grapples over Aenia, etc. but they aren’t taking over the story. As for the MMC, absolutely love Blake. I love that he’s not the typical pining after her in the most obvious way. He keeps making all the wrong choices, conflicted in so many ways, in a tortured soul kind of way. Plus we get several other spicy gentlemen that I’m sure we will see more of in the future like Kage. I also love that both the main characters are scorched earth types. Instead of one or the other, it’s clear they both aim to do whatever it takes to survive and protect who they care about. It really explores some deep issues like weighing loyalty to family vs the realm vs those you care about. Review: If Draco was a Vampire - Medra Pendragon is tossed into a new realm without a stitch on her back and is found by a rude and arrogant vampire who unceremoniously throws her at his uncle who is the leader of a powerful vampire society. The uncle believes she is the last of the dragon riders, who apparently died out long ago, however, there are no dragons left. Not a single one. But with her arrival, the vampires take that as a sign that the dragons may come back and she needed to be attached to the vampire leader at Bloodwing Academy (his nephew who dragged her there) and she was enrolled with zero choice in the matter. The highbloods run everything and blightborn like her were just blood in their veins, pawns in their games. Although, her blood was different. Blake Drakharrow, her new betrothed is cold, entitled, and unbelievably gorgeous. He tormented Medra the second they met (although he did save her so, that is one small thing to be thankful for). The big issue with their relationship is he acts like he owns her as if she is his property and that she should be grateful for it. Medra has a history of not following the rules, and where she came from she wasn't new to fighting. Blake underestimates her and will find out the hard way how stubborn she can be. Bloodwing isn't just a school, it's a live-in danger zone where Highblood vampires are constantly fighting with one another for power. The weak die and the humans are just there for food and entertainment unless they can prove their worth. Even then, the blightborn are constantly reminded that their life can end in an instant. Deadly competitions, lies that could get her executed, a jealous betrothed, and vampires that seem to want to see what she tastes like... will she survive this school? The powerplay between the houses are fierce. She needs to do well, adapt to this new realm and learn their ways to try and stay alive. And Blake her betrothed? He's as aggravating as he is beautiful and will be just as much of a challenge as this school. His uncle thinks they can control and use her but they don't know who she is. They will find out in time once things are awakened. On Wings of Blood is a dark academia fantasy romance with a cocky bully villain with Draco Malfoy energy who falls first and through trial and error gets the girl (sort of). Lots of tension, banter, and a dangerous blend of court and school set in an intricately crafted world with unique vampire and dragon lore. This fantasy had all the things I love. Sexy brooding MMC, a strong-willed FMC who doesn't put up with anyone's crap but is smart enough to know how to stay alive. A slow-burn romance with some spice. A new world with different creatures that take a slightly different approach to how vampires live and their hierarchy. Bloodwing Academy may have crossover characters from the world of Blood of a Fae but can be read completely independently. (I read that series first so I know where the FMC came from and her lineage. If you're a fan of original mythology, unique world-building, and character-driven romantasy, Check out this new series! Read the trigger warning, please.

Enemies to Lovers, Vampires, and Dark Academia Done Right
On Wings of Blood by Briar Boleyn hooked me from the very first page. Medra Pendragon wakes up in a world ruled by highblood vampires and quickly learns she’s far more than an outsider. With dragon rider blood running through her veins, she’s the last of her kind and suddenly a powerful pawn every ruling house wants to control. She’s forced into a political betrothal with Prince Blake Drakharrow, a cold and powerful vampire who is just as unhappy about the arrangement as she is. Their tense dynamic unfolds alongside Medra’s enrollment at Bloodwing Academy, a brutal, elite institution that gave me dark academia vibes with a gothic edge. The worldbuilding is rich and immersive, and the mystery surrounding Medra’s past kept me completely invested. The romance is a true slow burn, enemies-to-lovers done right, with simmering tension and emotional payoff rather than instant attraction. The ending is a cliffhanger that broke my heart and somehow still left me hopeful. I immediately picked up book two. Overall Rating: 5/5 Definitely recommend! Spice Rating: 3/5 (slow burn but explicit) Tropes: Enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, forced betrothal/political engagement, dark academia, vampires & dragon riders, magical academy, powerful FMC, royal intrigue, cliffhanger Ending

Book dragons, stop whatever you are doing. STOOOP & LISTEN NOW!!! You need to drop whatever is on your TBR and read this book RN! On wings of blood is gonna draw you in right from page 1. Medra is now one of my favorite FMCs. She’s one of the most fiestiest, coolest female characters. The world building was done amazingly well in this book. The anticipation for the dragons is gonna keep you on edge. The plot is solid. If you loved Draco and are a Darius Acrux girlie, you are gonna love Blake. He was the perfect tortured complicated morally grey MMC. His POV was everything. And that ending. I KNEW IT!!! I can’t wait to jump itno book 2. The stakes are so high now. Highly recommend if you loved Fourth wing, Zodiac academy and Harry Potter. 🔥🔥

Medra Pendragon arrives in a strange land and is immediately captured by highblood Blake Drakharrow and brought into vampire society. Believed to be a dragon rider, Medra is forced to attend Bloodwing Academy, though there are no dragons left and the highborn aren't accepting of her. I was interested to read this book, I love vampire stories and the addition of dragons sounded like a great combination. I wasn't sure about this being described as a bully romance but was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the story. Medra doesn't fit in at Bloodwing but she still finds a way to form bonds with her fellow blightborns (humans) and discovers that despite herself, she finds the classes interesting and enjoyable. Though she struggles with how she is treated by the highbloods, she stands up for herself and proves her worth. Her relationship with Blake changes and develops through the story and while I still don't really like him yet, Briar Boleyn writes him as a sympathetic character and I can understand why he is the way he is. The plot was well paced and I enjoyed the magical academic setting. The school is well described, I could picture the courtyard where the dragon statues are built and imagine Medra's room and classrooms. I loved the addition of Neville the fluffin! Looking forward to reading the next book!

I very much enjoyed the plot. I did not like the main character, but I was still rooting for her throughout the book. I liked Blake very much. I liked his protectiveness, and enjoyed how much he was more inthralled he was with her. The jealousy Regan had towards Medra was very amusing. I liked the Academy aspect, and you actually had her going to class and learning. But it would’ve been nice to have more of her schooling like what she actually learned brought up. Very much liked how it ended. I don’t really have any guesses of what could happen next, which makes this very intriguing and I am looking forward to continuing the series.

E O ROMANCE? Blake é tudo! Toda a construção do relacionamento deles foi impecável. Teve profundidade, não foi algo que aconteceu de uma hora pra outra, e teve MUIIIITA química e tensão.
