Pleasant Hearth AN-1010 Alpine Fireplace Glass Door, Black, Small

This replaced an older unit that was rusty and had the bi-fold doors with metal-mesh type screens. This unit is clearly an upgrade in design. Here are my quick thougts: * Make sure the swing of the glass doors is unobstructed if you are buying this. The whole door stake more space to fully open, * The swinging screen door is just perfect. Not a single spark has "popped" by it, and I am about 3 cords of wood use on this unit since install. * VERY easy to install. No masonry/drilling required. Everything you need to install this unit comes in the box. * Measure your fire box opening carefully. Mine was just inside the parameters to fit (but it did, like a glove!) * Excellent build quality and sturdiness. Feels and looks like a quality piece. Cons: * For me, there was not enough fiberglass insulation in the box. I would have preferred more to offer a greater barrier. I wish I bought this unit years ago. Gives my fireplace a hugely updated appearance and functionality.

The fireplace doors on my fireplace were original to the house, very 60s style. When I started looking for new fireplace doors, I was looking for something easy enough I could do on my own. I found these doors and I loved the simplicity and the look of them. It is pressure fitted, so I didn’t have to worry about drilling into any of the concrete. I also liked the very easy to follow YouTube video on installation. My only complaint is my fireplace width of the opening is exactly 36in so I got the large size because it said the minimum is 36in. I wasn’t able to use the bottom pressure fittings because holes the brackets were covered. I think the medium size would been a better choice for my 36in opening. Even without the bottom pressure fittings it still feels secure enough so I didn’t worry about replacing it with anything. Overall, I love the look the new doors gave my fireplace, and I’m very happy with the outcome.

18 MONTH UPDATE: 2 of the magnets that hold the doors to the frame have fallen off. I found one, but it cannot be reinstalled. One of the screen doors is warped and won’t stay closed. Disappointing. The box arrived very damaged, but the product inside didn’t seem damaged. Credit to the box/package designer. The instructions were so-so, so I ended up installing the attachment brackets wrong initially. This was frustrating because I’m sitting INSIDE my fireplace doing the install, so I didn’t want to stay in that cramped space very long. I installed it but the glass doors were misaligned, preventing door closure, and it was missing the door handles. I reported the misaligned doors and missing handles to their customer service dept. 2 weeks later they sent me new doors, which fixed the issue. There are magnets on the doors that match with metal plates on the body to keep the doors closed. BE SURE TO INSTALL THE WHOLE THING LEVEL! Otherwise, your doors won’t stay open. Seems sturdy, the screen doors are heavy-duty and the whole thing seems heavy duty and will surely last awhile.

I had been looking for a fireplace screen to protect my new floors from burns, but everything I looked at was so bulky. I also wondered about where I would put a screen when I needed to move it to tend to the fire. It all seemed so potentially messy and dated. Then I stumbled upon this insert and really liked the clean look. I hadn't wanted glass, just the screen, but I've grown to appreciate that the glass blocks the smoky smell from the room when the fire isn't lit. The details: It took us about 30 minutes to install, and was a fairly simple job with tools we had in the house. The magnets for the doors are pretty strong, so you don't need to worry about the screens popping open if a log shifts (unless it is a massive log). The quality is really great for the price. The metal is strong, and though we didn't need it, they included an extra metal piece that can be attached below the doors if you have a bigger opening .

The door came nicely packaged and the mesh inside the door was a super great surprise. I have pets and now when the fireplace is on, they have NO chance of getting to the gas logs. I have no picture yet, but the door is super sturdy and I can't describe it how much better quality than my old one.

I bought this item a few weeks back. I was very excited that I finally got it installed and I used it this past weekend. The fire had been on in our fireplace for approximately 3 to 4 hours before the doors came open on their own. We were unable to close the doors due to the magnets malfunctioning. Shortly after the outside of the fireplace cover begin to show burn marks and the paint began to peel and chip. The item is defective and extremely dangerous! I attempted to contact Pleasant Hearth a few days back waited on hold for about 30 minutes two separate times and was unable to get a representative. I then attempted to file the return with Amazon through the app and the only responses I got were to package myself and take to the UPS store. I do not have the original box at the item came in as this item was installed. I then called Amazon and the only resolution I was given by the first representative was to package myself, and they can pick it up from my house or have it taken to the UPS store for return. I expressed my concerns over not only having to uninstall the item from the brick of my fireplace, but having to pay for, physically package, and transport the item. I was extremely concerned due to the size of the item and the fact that the glass doors would not stay closed and the material from the item is coming off. I was continually told that it had to be returned and packed by myself. The final resolution after escalating the call was to give me a $30 Amazon credit as compensation to pay for packaging. The credit can only be used on Amazon bought and shipped items which I have yet to be able to use this on any of my purchases. I am extremely disappointed, but grateful that my home did not catch on fire. I highly recommend that people considering buying this item do not as it is a major safety hazard.

This thing is sturdy! And stunning. It was super easy to install with my husband and it looks gorgeous. The doors are heavy duty and stay latched with the magnetic latch. Did I mention it’s stunning? So beautiful

Awesome looking and works perfectly. Some tips for best performance: - Install as air-tight as possible. - Keep the glass doors open, when the fire high so that I get all the nice heat in the room. - Keep them slightly open (just a few inches) when starting up, reviving the fire. This keeps the smoke and the heat inside the fireplace. - Only fully close the (glass) doors when shutting down the fire, as it severely limits the air intake and stops any heat from escaping in or out the room.

Perfect for covering our opening to the fireplace. Easy to install. Looks very nice and easy to open and close, a really good product!

easy to install and look great. Have a small fire place and the small size fit very well. You should go and get some extra fiberglass insulation. The don't give you enough.
