Monsters Inc. [DVD] [2002]

A totally winning combination. Great film, lovingly re-rendered in 3D with superb high definition and totally immersive surround sound soundtrack. My favourite 3D so far, depths are clear and deep, which actually helps emphasise the background jokes, pop out 3d pops right out to tickle your glasses. Detail is fantastic, makes you want to reach out and straighten scully's hair, oh and to me the film is even funnier than it was 10 years ago. Clearly a lot of love and care has gone into this release, and it shows in very frame. It's like an old friend has lost two stone and taken up weight training. If you need a film to show off your system then this is it, also handy to keep the kids quiet and if you need a giggle on a Sunday afternoon. Brilliant!

My square-eyed little girl was glued to this from the minute we put it on! She's only 18 months, but the colours are enough to keep a very little one happy. The quality of the animation is mesmerising, and there's a lot of humour in here to appeal to the adults (it's a bit of a Billy Cristal vehicle, but that's never a bad thing!). A wonderfully imaginative story, great baddies, tear-jerking ending (typical Pixar!) - all in all, something we can all enjoy and laugh at over and over.

Great movie but the 3d disc never worked in my player and others. 2d worked great and the movie is fun

My wife and I recently visited Walt Disney World and during a haloween party we spotted some of the Monsters Inc characters out dancing at one of the dance parties and it got us talking about the film, having not watched Monsters Inc in a few years I didn't have the best memories of the film and remembered it being fairly good so when we returned from the holiday we purchased the film and I got a chance to see it again after a number of years and I must say that it was so much better than I ever remembered it being. The film has a great story and entire world created that just feels real and believable which draws you into the film and thanks to the amazing animation and voice acting you find yourself having a real affection for the characters. This is a film I know will now have pride of place and one I will be watching quite a few times in the future.
