Church Publishing is pleased to offer this exclusive edition of the 1979 Book of Common Prayer (BCP). Ideal as a pew book or gift, this prayer book features luxurious imitation leather binding with a soft, matte finish in your choice of four colors. A textured cross is embossed on the cover. The prayer book is sturdily assembled, with Smyth-sewn pages and a spine that won't crack under heavy use. A presentation page and certificates for the rites of Baptism, Confirmation, and Marriage are included. 9-point font. This is the standard Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments and Other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church together with The Psalter or Psalms of David according to use in the Episcopal Church in the United States as authorized in 1979. Review: Guilty pleasure - I am certain that the look and feel of a prayer book should not be of primary importance, but I do love the buttery feel and flexibility of the vivella cover. Green is not only my favorite color, but is symbolic to me also. I like the size, small but not too small. I like the weight. I just like holding this book. I will agree that the pages are a strange color. If they were gilded, the book would be perfection, but then its beauty might be distracting from its content and purpose. (I am not commenting on content, because to do so would be arrogant if not blasphemous, and I assume buyers will be familiar with the beautifully written, moving and helpful content.) Review: Perfect Personal Sized BCP for Everyday Use - I was looking for a streamlined BCP for devotional and travel purposes, and this is perfect for my needs. This takes up far less space in my bag than the pew sized hardcover version I was carrying around to coffee shops. The font is small, but it is still easy to read: except for the section containing Historical Documents. In that section, the font is very small, but in spite of that, the printing is very clear, so it is easy to make out the words. Also, I don't think many people would purchase this edition if they desired to study the 39 Articles or the Chicago-Lambeth Quadrilateral. The cover is dark green and is nicely bound. The edges of the pages have a faint yellow tint. Includes special pages for presentation, baptism, confirmation, and marriage. It also includes one gold colored ribbon bookmark. Overall, I am very happy with this edition.

Very nice!
This is really nice! It feels good in the hand, and is small enough but not too small. The print is good for me. I am really glad I ordered this! It is perfect for personal use, church use or clergy use.

Great pocket BCP
Had this for a few months now, love the pocket size with a ribbon. I personally love the green/gold combination, and the fact that it’s single column. Very good pocket size Book of Common Prayer, I refer to it often.

Compact, but still plenty legible.
I purchased the green book as I’m a sucker for different colored covers and all the BCP’s I’d seen were either black or red. That said, I’m glad I judged this book by its cover and purchased it because it’s been a wonderful little companion. It’s compact enough to easily fit in my purse and the vivella cover is strangely comforting to hold. The cover is also quite flexible and will mostly lay flat. I take mine along to church and have no problem reading along. I think the font is 8 or 9 point. The pages are very thin like Bible paper and some of mine are lightly stuck together at the corners, likely from the binding process. They come unstuck with no hassle when I turn the pages. All in all, this was exactly what I was looking for.

Easy to carry with me
I appreciate the sturdy binding, and elegant cover. The pages are the perfect weight for usability and frequent use. I enjoy the lectionary and prayers. It fits easily in my hands while having a font large enough to read. The value was excellent.
