I really was skeptical about this product after reading the reviews. I had facial nerve surgery which caused damage to my taste buds. After 5 weeks of every thing tasting metallic or no flavor at all I decided to give this a try. I purchased the small bottle to see if it worked. It definitely has improved my taste. The directions say to gargle with 1 teaspoon but I only used a capful ( which is a small amount). The first few times I could tell a difference and now a few days later I am seeing better results. I gargle with it 3-4 times a day. Right before meals really seems to help my taste.. I recommend giving it a try.

Didn't get rid of metallic taste

Meta Quil does a fairly satisfactory job of removing the sour, metallic taste from one's mouth. It does not take it entirely away but is certainly nice to have when nothing else does, save for sugar free gum. Using it 3x a day seems to be best especially right after toothbrushing with toothpaste.

I had to be on an antibiotic that made my mouth taste like rotten pennies for two weeks, plus the downtime afterward. Bought this to try and combat it. For the price and how much you need to use each time, its an okay deal. Do I think using normal mouthwash would have the same effect? No. Do I think that this is the ender to the metallic taste? Also No. It has something to coat your tongue for the time period after you use it (maybe 20-30 min) unlike a normal mouthwash that just kind of makes your breath minty. But in that time you get the sort of, drank orange juice after brushing teeth effect with EVERYTHING that you get with normal food and water. Also drinking water (surprise) gets rid of the effect. If youre looking for a MOMENTS peace and dont care that you'd have to constantly use it? Go for it I guess. I don't think its worth the money or break from the taste but if youre suffering I get it. As a side, there was a day I swished with a little more than the teaspoon they recc. And my mouth was tingly and felt numb. Odd.

Which is why I'm about to order the eight-ounce bottle, since we know it works. Should you order a bottle? I can't promise you'll get the same results as my mother in law. Maybe you'll try it, and things stay the same. But maybe you'll try it, and can go back to enjoying food and drinks like you did before. Works great to get the metal taste out of my mouth after chemotherapy.

My sleep prescription meds gives me the horrible metallic taste in my tongue and I’m devastated that I don’t get to enjoy the taste of different food anymore. It is for this reason why I tried Metaqil but unfortunately it does not kill or help get rid of the metallic taste that I really really hate. I got swayed by some reviews that said Metaqil was a miracle for them. I will still finish the whole bottle though even if it did not work because it was pricey for the size of the bottle and I don’t like wasting. Definitely won’t recommend this to anyone. Just wished it worked though because people like me who suffer from Dysgeusia badly need relief.

I really wanted this to work but it made no difference in my case.
