I’ve been using this SMALLRIG USB-C to USB-C coiled data cable with my Canon R7 and Atomos Shinobi II, and it’s worked flawlessly. The connection has been stable with no disconnects or communication issues during use. The coiled design is one of my favorite features since it keeps my camera rig neat and prevents excess cable from getting in the way while still stretching when needed. The connectors fit securely, and the cable feels durable and well made. If you’re building a clean camera rig and need a reliable USB-C data cable, this one has been an excellent choice. Highly recommended.

SMALLRIG BUYER
The Smallrig USB C coiled data cable works well. The cables connections fit nice and tight when plug into its prospective socket. Just one note, and that is the cable itself is stiff and not very flexible. I’m hoping it will loosen up a bit over time. Working with photography equipment, flexibility with cable rigging is very important. I normally buy Smallrig products and I’m rarely disappointed.

Much too stiff. Only safe to use at its 1' length; stretching longer will stress your USB input.
This is the first Small Rig product I've ever returned. The quality of the cable is on par with what I expect from the company, however in this case it's a big fail. The cable wire is quite substantial, which would be great except the point of a coiled cable is to get longer when needed. This cable is so thick and stiff, that you barely get any additional length before it's putting strong leverage / tension on the USB-C input jack on your device. Which means if you use it at virtually any length beyond its static length, you're risking disconnect at best, and damaging your USB jack at worst. Because of that, it's really just a heavy, bulky version of a 1' cord.
