Premium PC Controller
The build quality is solid. The controller feels just slightly more smaller and narrow to a regular Xbox Controller, but it’s still comfortable to hold. The buttons, triggers, and d-pad feel good in use and are responsive. The connection is great and the charging dock being included is a nice touch for a controller at this price point. Admittedly I think the software is barebones and I don’t like that you can’t assign keyboard macros. I’m sure the extra buttons can be useful, but personally I don’t use them.

Top Tier Daily Driver PC Games Controller
I love this thing. 98% of it is impeccable. 8BitDo's naming convention is a little bit confusing, but this particular controller is pretty much JUST for PC, and it is a very solid choice for PC at that. Very smooth sticks, nice membrane buttons, L2 and R2 triggers that can be transformed from analogue triggers to digital clicky buttons, all good stuff. The dpad is different from 8bitdo's earlier revisions, with it being more 'tactile' than rubber membrane. I think the closest similarity to another product might be a PS Vita dpad, where it has an in between rubber dome of most dpads of the past and the clickiness of XBOX controllers. In theory, this should be amazing for precision platformers or Tetris type of games, as you will feel when you press a direction the way you meant to or accidentally press a wrong direction input. Could it feel fatiguing? I can't quite tell, but playing games for over 2 hours at a time would fatigue me anyway. The input latency is insanely good, like you can have the dock connected to the PC and will connect with 2.4ghz to its dock and it feels just about the same as connecting the controller through a wire. You *could* use the Ultimate 2 Bluetooth if you want, but that would be better for Switch/Switch2 as I think it has more latency (according to Gamepadla) which is fine for the Nintendo Consoles and is more in line with how those controllers and consoles work. If your main focus is PC, get this instead for the better input latency. I also appreciate how classy, understated, and not 'aggressively gamer' it looks, compared to other third party controllers. My only complaint is about the R1 and L1 bumpers, but this is more of a taste thing. I would have preferred a rubber membrane button for the bumpers, but if I wanted that then I would use the older model Ultimate C that I have. If you were to get only ONE gamepad for your PC, I can highly vouch for this one.

I prefer this over the Xbox Elite controller. Best controller I've ever used
Everything about it feels like an upgrade. The button, stick and trigger response feels right. The programmable macro switches on the back and underside are placed perfectly so I didn't have to be a contortionist to use them. And since we're on the subject, every single button and switch is programmable. You can send every function to wherever you want it to be. Another cool touch is that the wireless dongle is tucked away in the docking station. You have the choice to remove it and plug directly into your PC. But it's better to use the dock. Because everything is automatic. Place the controller in the dock and you're instantly charging. Remove it and it instantly connects wirelessly at 2.8ghz. It with the flick of a switch via Bluetooth. And of course you can plug it directly and use it wired. Another unique feature are the LED lights. You can change the colors but also how they behave. Evenb option to have every action show as a location on your stick ring colors. You have to see it to get it. As I said, best controller I've ever used. Well worth the price. About $90 in 2026.

Excellent controller with a few quirks for PC players.
After extensive researching, this is one of a handful of controllers I've found that supports direct input mode on PC. This protocol allows the gyro and extra buttons to be seen by the OS and bound to things like keyboard presses via Steam Input or other programs. This functionality is highly sought after, but for some reason controller manufacturers dont yet realize this. Holding the star and B buttons while powering on the controller in 2.4ghz mode enables direct input. I'm including this information because for some reason it is not in any of the manuals or information provided by the manufacturer. Pros: - Direct Input mode!!! This cannot be overstated enough. On PC the additional buttons and gyro functionality are very helpful for flightsim games. - Value: This controller provides excellent build quality, features, and a charging dock at a very reasonable price. - Onboard profile storage. Storing up to 3 profiles is great and they can be swapped to with a single button press. - Inputs feel great. Buttons have just the right amount of travel, they arent clicky, but arent excessively long either. Sticks are very smooth and accurate. Cons: - Powering on the controller via the power button seems to revert from direct input back to xinput. Most of the time if I just pick it up from the charger it auto-wakes into direct input mode, but sometimes still reverts to xinput here as well and needs a reboot. There needs to be a way to force the controller to stay in direct input mode. Perhaps this can be a setting in the Ultimate Software profile. - Auto power off. It shuts off after about 15 minutes of inactivity. For my use case, this is a bit annoying as I will regularly leave it inactive, but need to pick it up and have it ready on a moments notice. There is no way to disable the auto-power off, this should be a setting in the Ultimate Software as well. You can get the controller to stay on by plugging it in, but that defeats the purpose of a wireless controller. Feedback for 8BitDo if you read these reviews: - Thumbsticks: The thumbstick caps are removable, it would be amazing if there were longer thumbstick caps available for purchase. - Direct Input mode: This feature should be more evident in your marketing, and more supported by your software. Many PC users desperately want this functionality, and you have it. But the steps to take advantage of this functionality are nowhere in your manuals or documentation. I had to find it in a random reddit post. Also, it needs some work as the controller frequently reverts back to xinput mode. A firmware update addressing this would be very welcome. - Also a firmware update allowing users to disable the auto-shutoff feature would be great!

Say yes, to an 8BitDo-
If you’re looking for a good all around controller with connectivity ability's of Bluetooth, and Nintendo switch, this is 100% the controller for you. Its sleek, Feels great, has adjustable settings in the 8BitDo Controller application, Great customizability with the colors, Connects to Pc, Any bluetooth device, Switch, and Switch 2. And is overall one of the best feeling controllers Ive had, You even get reliable Thumbsticks, these jhons are Hall effect, meaning unlike other Controllers, Your not gonna get drift, and its gonna feel a whole lot smoother to use, You also get 4 Extra button’s, Swappable Mouseclick Triggers, and nice Squishy Button’s. Also bonus, it comes with a Charging dock, with an included Dongle, meaning you can just Plug the dock right in and start playing! It should be noted, these wont connect to Playstation or Xbox, and the Xbox ones 8BitDo does sell, are only wireless for Bluetooth, and are forced to be wired for Xbox. Connectivity and Delay times on this controller are astonishing, I have had absolutely No problems with this thing at all, Great battery life, Comfortable feel, All around one of the best controller brands Ive ever bought. Also color options are a plus

Easily one of the best PC controllers you can get in the $50 range.
Wow, this controller genuinely surprised me. I switched from the Manba One V2, and honestly, this one is better in every way. The connection is rock solid no drops at all. The software is on another level too; I couldn’t believe how much better and easier it is to use. On top of that, it comes with a 1-year warranty, while the Manba only had 6 months and when mine failed, their support wasn’t helpful at all. Everything about this controller feels right, from the button layout to how easy it is to program. It just works the way you expect it to.

A nice choice of PC gaming.
It's a very nice controller. It offers more buttons than typical xbox controller, and its comfortable in the hand. the should buttons are adjustable so you can choose a long or short throw on them. The dock is also a nice feature. You plugged it into your computer, and it gives you connectivity/charging. I think it was well worth the price.

Great controller but trigger failure made me change my review. 2 controllers, same issue.
UPDATED REVIEW... I initially wrote a glowing review for this controller seen below. However, after having the controller for more time, I have to update and lower my review. If you want to know the great things about this controller look at my review below, if you want to know my experience and woes after having the controller for some time, read on. So, I have had this controller replaced since my review. What happens? The triggers start to... I wouldn't say fail but it seems like it's a hardware/engineering issue. What happened in my case, twice? After a couple of weeks of use the triggers start to make a hard clicking sound as if it's hitting plastic on plastic when you release them. They seem to hit the RB/LB buttons above the triggers. The triggers are working, but it's annoying to hear this popping sound compared to the way they worked silently when pressed and released before this issue happens. In normal position there's supposed to be a bit of a gap in between the RT/LT triggers and RB/LB buttons. However, after using the controller for some time... something internally must fail and that space is not there or there's some internal component that fails and now the triggers are pulled out too far in released position. So now when you press and release, they pop out too much and hit the LB/RB buttons on top of the triggers. There's a noticeable popping sound, when before, they were silent. The first controller I bought, it happened after about 3 weeks. It was only the right trigger doing it. I returned it to Amazon and got a replacement. The replacement lasted 2 weeks before it started to do the exact same thing on the right trigger then the left did it shortly after. So, they both make this clicky plasticky popping sound when releasing the triggers. This time around I contacted 8Bitdo customer service to explain to them what happened. I sent pictures and a video clip and asked was it a quality control issue or a bad batch at Amazon. They asked me for proof of purchase because they were going to replace it under warranty. However, once they saw I only had it for about 2 weeks they told me to just return it to Amazon again for another replacement and that would be faster service. I don't mind doing that but it's a bummer this controller has this issue, and it could very well be a defective design when it comes to those triggers. I do like the controller very much, but this is unacceptable. So, I have to lower my review score here from 5 stars to 3 stars. I will return it once more and see if I get lucky the 3rd time. MAYBE... I'm not sure if I'll get another one. I do like it a lot but... this is lame. 8Bitdo you have a great controller here... but it's hard to recommend when I've had 2 of them do the same thing in less than 3 weeks a piece. Mind you, I've owned the Ultimate 2C controller for SEVERAL months and it NEVER had this issue that this newly released Ultimate 2 has had with the triggers. 2 of them I've had now less than 3 weeks each one. I believe it to be an engineering defect with the trigger mechanism, the toggle switches that enable digital trigger presses. The Ultimate 2C doesn't have this feature and the triggers are still silent as the day when I bought it. I suspect this controller will be marked as "item frequently returned" very soon by Amazon. There's no way I'm the only one. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW I have only owned one other 8Bitdo controller before this one, the Ultimate 2C Black Myth Wukong edition. That controller is great and this new Ultimate 2 is even better. The new TMR analog sicks on the Ultimate 2 are just a touch more defined and sturdier than the Hall Effect sticks on the Ultimate 2C. These have less of a “loose” feeling to them. A slight bit tighter feeling. The D pad is a bit more clicky and less mushy feel. Diagonals on the D Pad in fighting games like Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 are indeed easier on this controller over the Ultimate 2C. It has almost double the battery life of the Ultimate 2C, comes with a charging dock that you can put the dongle inside of AND the dongle itself is USB C now. When you take the controller off the dock it automatically connects to your PC. It has 2 back paddles and 2 extra shoulder buttons that you can assign how you like in the Ultimate V2 Software. Also, Hall Effect triggers with switches for the L and R trigger to make them feel like buttons instead of triggers if you like. Comes in handy depending on the game. On top of those things this controller has LED lights around the analog sticks that are customizable with the Ultimate V2 Software along with customizable button layouts, macros for multiple buttons assigned to a single button or back paddle. And you have 3 customizable profiles you can save. All of which you can’t do with the Ultimate 2C. There really isn’t a valid reason to not buy this over the Ultimate 2C or the previous generation Ultimate controller… unless you want less features, less battery life, worse analogue sticks and a worse D pad… and no eye candy with LED lighting!

Good
Very comfortable, it has a very nice rumble, and the lights are customizable and can easily be turned off. Mapping the extra buttons is easy, and works well.

Love it! One of the best controllers I've used for PC
I initially bought the Ultimate 2C, and it was very good, but this one Ultimate 2 just feels much more premium, and it is. I'm very satisfied with the purchase, the ergonomics of the controller are excellent 👌.

O controle 8BitDo superou minhas expectativas. Utilizo para jogar Zelda Breath of the Wild no Cemu e a experiência é excelente.

Wirklich schade!
