An inspiring and enjoyable book about a remarkable leader and soldier
The authors have provided a wonderful insight into an extraordinary soldier and leader who was clearly much loved and respected throughout the Indian Army – and the nation. I found the many stories in the book fascinating, not only those about the remarkable Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw but also the descriptions of events and influences in India during more than four decades after the Second World War. Well worth purchasing, especially since a major portion of the royalties are donated to the War Wounded Foundation and the War Widows’ Associations of India.

The book is a very interesting read, I finished it over the weekend. It is a biography of the greatest Indian Military General, that offers invaluable leadership lessons without actually giving them. The man was an institution; the book documents the evidence. Very nicely written.

So perfect that it seems difficult to believe a man with such greatness ever lived. As a close aid the writer has brought life to every single event that happened during the life of SAM. I really loved reading the funny incidents and narratives. Hope you all would enjoy reading this book.

What a great story of grit, determination, courage, and above all of a leader and human being. Life lessons from the real life anecdotes and experiences of a true hero. Narrative is totally engaging, inspiring the reader to know more and more of the man, the ilks of whom are not so easy to be found for a long time. Tips on leadership are applicable not only to those who serve in the defence services, but will serve as a guiding light even outside the army, for generations. How to strike a balance between professional and personal life, and to get the maximum out of them, to deliver the best. Credit for making the story so engrossing and interesting goes to the authors. To sum up: A great story of a great hero. SARBAN SINGH Author of book: DREAM JOURNEY ~ Reminiscences of an IAS officer.
