Everyone’s feet are different, but for me, the ALTRA Lone Peak 9's have been one of my favorite purchases ever for hiking and backpacking. The fit and shape feel very natural and comfortable. On my first outing, I hiked 60 miles with no break-in and didn’t get a single blister. I’m now well over 100 miles on them, and the wear has been minimal. They aren’t waterproof, but I actually prefer the breathability, they dry quickly and keep my feet cooler and less sweaty. The tread and grip are excellent, performing well across a variety of terrains. The all-black color is clean and understated, which I really appreciate compared to the loud colors of many trail runners. I even wear them for walking 18 holes of golf quite often. While I still wear my golf shoes when using a cart, it’s hard to go back to them after experiencing the wide, comfortable toe box of these shoes. Overall, I think they’re a versatile, comfortable, and high-performing shoe for hiking, backpacking, and everyday wear.

I've got extremely wide feet. I've had problems all my life finding shoes or boots that don't kill my feet. These are great. I don't run anymore but I do wear shoes. Great tread so no falling. Feel great on my feet. If you have wide feet then consider these.

I have not used them for trail running but I am on my feet with a weighted vest and belt for about 10 hrs a day and these shoes are excellent. Very comfortable, I love how wide they are and while not super cushiony they have just enough. I will definitely these again and again.

As an Athletic Director and Coach, I put my gear through the wringer. I used the Altra Lone Peak 9s for every single outdoor mile of my 75 Hard journey…through mud, gravel, and pavement. **What I Like:** * **FootShape Toe Box:** My toes actually have room to splay, which is a game-changer for stability on uneven trails. * **MaxTrac Outsole:** The grip is elite. Even after hundreds of miles, the lugs are holding up and biting into the dirt. * **Durability:** These are true workhorse shoes. They don't just look the part; they perform under pressure. **The Reality Check:** * **Zero Drop:** If you aren't used to your heel and forefoot being at the same height, give your calves a week to adjust. * **Aesthetics:** This specific colors combo isn't my favorite, but for a shoe that gets the job done, I can live with it. **The Verdict:** If you value foot health and need a shoe that can handle high-volume miles without falling apart, the Lone Peak 9 is the standard. Let me start by saying I am a very loyal Hoka user/buyer. However, I was looking for a new shoe with a larger toe box without the significant cushioning that is the hallmark of the Hoka shoe. I read various reviews of the Altra product and thought this model would fit my needs. After a couple weeks of use I can report that I am fully pleased with my initial experience. The shoe does have an expanded toe box allowing for more room/comfort across the toe area--which was my primary goal for this purchase. The shoe is definitely less cushioned than the Hoka brand and I do notice that when using the shoes. The fit seems true to size and the shoes arrived on time and undamaged. One note of caution--and this is just my opinion. If your goal in the purchase is heavily cushion shoes, these may not be your best option. However, if the roominess across the toe box is more a priority with cushioning less of an objective than these may be for you. I am happy with the purchase and alternate been my Hokas and the new Altras depending on my activity. With the foregoing proviso, I do recommend the Altras.

I bought these primarily to play grass volleyball in but I've also used these for hiking and such. It takes a while to get used to zero drop but once you get over that, these are great. Fit is good, however I question the durability as some of the side panels that are glued started to peel after a month or so of use. It hasn't gotten any worse so maybe just an unlucky development. Another friend of mine has gotten a pair from the same brand and they aren't seeing the same defect. Overall, I recommend these shoes for people who are looking for a wide toe box and are in need of extra traction on the trail or in grass.

I’ve been wearing ALTRA’s for at least 8 years now and they are the best for daily wear and trail walking. Love them! Fit is great and durability is great.

Llevaba buscando unas bambas anchas, ligeras y cómodas desde hace tiempo. Solo encontraba algo parecido con la competencia pero nunca un todoterreno como las de Altra. Muy contento con mi compra. Las recomiendo muchísimo.

Endlich mal ein Schuh der an die natürliche Fuß Form angepasst ist! Warum andere Hersteller noch nicht auf die Idee gekommen sind Schuhe herzustellen die auch der Form eines Fußes entsprechen verstehe ich nicht. Das war mein erster Schuh von Altra und wird sicher nicht der letzte sein, bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Tragekomfort und dem Design. Im Gegensatz zu gewöhnlichen Barfußschuhen ist dieser auch mit einer Sohle und Profiel eines Sportschuh ausgestattet was in zusätzlich bequem und für Wanderungen optimal macht. Auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.👍🏽

Great size fit well but sadly not water proof .my feet have got wet 2 times now walking in the rain
